Impromptu stop on a road trip past Clinton. We decided to stop for no other reason than to get off of the road for a little while. When we got to the cultural center we had no clue what it was or why it was significant, especially since the road signs didn’t explain anything about it. What we found when we got there was an incredible story of heroism, told by an incredible man that lived through the tumult of desegregation. Jerry Shattuck was a phenomenal story teller and beacon of hope in an age that is increasingly racist and bigoted. His clear passion makes him the single best museum docent(and he’s way more than a docent…) I’ve ever met. Facility: 10⁄10 Stars Jerry: 11⁄10 Stars
