Growing Places Garden Project is a nonprofit organization that builds vegetable gardens for people with limited economic means. They use volunteers to help build the gardens and mentor the new gardeners.
I recently volunteered to help build a garden for a family nearby. We met at the site and our team of 6 people quickly put together the three raised garden beds. It was a bit of work, but a lot of fun. The person from Growing Places that was leading us did an excellent job of keeping us all working on the garden beds, and we got the job done quickly.
It’s an excellent organization, I look forward to building more gardens next year.
