Terrible flowers. Worse service. Last year for Christmas, I ordered a Christmas centerpiece through 1−800-Flowers. The centerpiece was supposed to have lilies, carnations, roses, a red velvet ribbon and a tall red candle, all sitting inside of a medium-sized wreath. 1−800-Flowers contracted Varise Bros. for the order. When delivered, the centerpiece(of 1 dead white rose, a handful of dead mums, a 1″ $ 0.25 candle, and a brown wilting wreath) must have been thrown on the porch table: The table under the piece was littered with dead brown needles. I managed to get my money back from 1−800-Flowers and told them to discontinue contracting with Varise. Well, this year I ordered an identical Christmas centerpiece, again through 1−800-Flowers. Since they use so many florists in the Worcester area, I didn’t specify anything… A mistake I will never make again. The centerpiece arrived a day late; was basically the exact same(incorrect) centerpiece except only dieing(not completely dead); and the woman who delivered it specifically told me not to use Varise Bros. [The only nice thing I will say is that woman was awesome. She confessed she only works for Varise for 6 days a year: 3 days before Christmas, and 3 before Valentine’s Day, all driving the truck. She said she has never missed a delivery in years, and that if I didn’t get it yesterday, it was never put in her truck.] Now 1−800-Flowers will only give me a half-refund if I still want the correct centerpiece, but I had to order them to use a different florist. Never use Varise Bros. They will charge you $ 50 for a nickel’s-worth of flowers, and you’ll get them either days late or dead.
