My lady and I went tubing today, and thought about how nice it’d be to camp out tonight. I immediately thought of VSP, as I grew up in the area and am very familiar with it, although I had never camped there. The campground itself is nice, with some pretty well spaced sites surrounding a large field. Our first site we were assigned was on a hill. Too much of a hill to be acceptable. My lady called the office and they had a few sites open right around us, which was nice to just be able to switch that easily. Other than that, it’s very easy to hear other campsite conversations, so make sure you bring some music.

The registration process was simple enough, and I thought the composting toilets were really neat. The mosquitoes were practically nonexistent, also, which was great. We stayed in the«Family» section of the campground, and the campsites there were WAY too close together. People were packed together like sardines, and conversations from the next over campsite were fully audible, which really killed the whole wilderness vibe. The men’s restroom was apparently disgusting(I did not go in, but was told about it). A decent enough place to spend the night, but at $ 25 I would have expected something a bit nicer and more secluded.
