Cloverdale River Park has direct access to the Russian River. There is a medium sized parking lot and it’s $ 7 a day to park there. You need to leave money in the box, so be sure to bring cash. There are some picnic areas and bathrooms. As well as a small beach to relax on. We specifically discovered this park as a great place to start a Russian River Float. You park one car here and one at the Cloverdale Cemetery(on E. 1st/Crocker Rd.). I believe the float is only about a mile, but this part of the river runs pretty slow so it takes about 2 – 3 hours. There are some small«rapids» sections. They add for a little more excitement. Nothing that the average adult can’t handle, but if you have small children or dogs you may want to rethink this route. However there is a paved trail that parallels the river here so if you need to bail you just have to get though the trees a bit to this trail. Overall, a super relaxing place to float.
