As a big fan of Buddy Holly, The Crickets and great 1950s rock ‘n’ roll, I had to make a visit to the Norman Petty Studios.
I was visiting during the annual Clovis, NM Music Festival (around September) and this was a dream come true!
I found myself surrounded by classic memorabilia that was around back when Buddy himself was recording in these very studios.
I got to stand up close to the very microphone he used! I even saw the actual Celeste (a chiming xylophone-​like instrument) used during the recording of the classic hit «Everyday.»
The retro Coca Cola machine in the main lobby is a first sign that you are about to enter a very special, nostalgic and influential place.
