I rarely ever go out to buy fried food but considering this restaurant has been around for ages I decided to try something new. Absolutely no regrets. First thing to note is that the size of their fish are ginormous and I love how they bring sauce bottles to your table. It’s a small location with not too many seats inside so I wouldn’t go with a group larger than 4. Calamari tasted good but I personally enjoyed the chicken strips better. I’ll be back to try their hush puppies.

The customer service was and is excellent. However the food I did not care for to much. It is a nice cozy environment which is nice. The selection of sauces are good. Overall the food is decent but not the best. I may or may not come back.

Noticed this place last time we were in Clovis, so when we were in the area again, we stopped into West Coast for fish n chips. Talk about a great value for your dollar! The portions are huge! The fish was super crisp and hot, the fries were good, and the chowder was yummy too. The service was friendly and efficient and the restaurant was clean. We will definitely return and recommend this spot to our friends.

Huge fish portion! Very good. Could use a bit of salt and I would like a few more options that aren’t battered or fried, but when u want fish & chips come here!!!

I enjoy a good fried fish plate brings the sea to me. The clam strips and fish was very good. The fish was an awesome size and both fried very good. Batter was light and flakey, fries were also the right kind for the meal. Little tarter sauce and you are good to go! The fish sandwich was also good. Nice bread matched up with the fish. Looking forward to trying there chowder. If your looking for a good alternative to going to the beach, come here and enjoy yourself.

Ive had it with this place. Dropped by on a Friday night at 8:30PM. They close at 9PM. After getting the kids seated and starting to order they told us to-go only. They had no problem making us pack everything up to go elsewhere. So we come back 2 weeks later and order only to be told after paying that they don’t have any hush puppies. Thats fine make it clam chowder. They had the nerve to charge me the 2 bucks more. In my mind that was the last time I will ever be here again. The food was typical but their service is terrible. Save fish for trips to the coast.

Nice music, fast and polite service, good portions of food, tasty food! Clean place for being a mom n pop. The owner knows many customers on first name basis! Impresive! What’s not to like on top of very fair prices?

Awesome, great tasting fish and service. The fish pieces are huge, two pieces of fish usually fill me up. I also recommend trying the hush puppies, the fried mushrooms, and also the crab cakes. The price is also good for the quality of the food.

Even though the food is fried we keep coming back for the friendly staff and fast service. We mostly do to go orders but have sat and had a meal here. The owners are super nice and appreciate return business. The fish and chips are actually London-style and a 2 piece is enough food to share.

The reviews are correct. Everything here is spot on. Crispy fish, cooked at the right temperature so it’s not overly greasy. Excellent value. They give you a bottle of cold tarter sauce, ketchup and cocktail sauce. Everything was perfectly cooked, the service was very polite. Clam chowder was delicious. This will be my go to place for fish and chips.

I have been coming here for years and it is always delicious and consistent. The restaurant has a quiet relaxing feel with calming music playing in the background. I’ve only ever had the fish and chips with various different sides. Every time the food is hot. Now the only reason I won’t give 5 stars is because I know the majority of the food is frozen and not fresh. Being a few ours from the coast it wouldn’t be too difficult to get fresh seafood delivered in.

You want fish n chips? Come here! You want an expensive/satisfying meal? Come here! Quick and easy review. I felt for fish n chips like somebody else on here after just being in Monterey where they wanted $ 18(say what). I came here and was pleasantly surprised ordering my 2 piece meal with fries and it was like $ 8. The place was clean, the food was good, and i was super satisfied and felt like i got a great deal. Its not fancy, but does the job if your hungry or craving for crispy fish goodness. Keep it up West Coast!!!

I’m pretty sure they’re putting crack in their fish and chips and heroin in the tartar sauce. I say that because I swear this is the best fish and chips I’ve ever had, but I know that can’t be true because it’s just an unremarkable little place in Clovis. The fish is incredible. I’m not a huge fan of fish, but I’m a giant fan of their fish. I’m actually planning to convert to Catholicism just so I have an excuse to eat there every Friday, or whenever Catholics don’t eat meat except fish meat. I’m just lucky I don’t live closer because I would have to start buying my clothes from a tent store. And I hate tartar sauce. Freaking HATE it. It’s mayonnaise’s ugly cousin, and I’d like to see whoever invented mayonnaise get ripped apart by a pack of rabid hyenas. But this tartar sauce is like an angel’s fart. It’s frikkin magical. I want to steal the recipe so I can slather it on everything I eat for the rest of my life until I’m so fat I need a forklift to haul my fat butt to the refrigerator. And if you really want to have a taste of paradise, try the scallops. Here’s what I’m getting at: if I get to heaven and West Coast Fish & Chips isn’t on the menu, I’ve just been wasting my Sunday mornings.

I just came back from a day trip to Monterey and I was surprised to find a better fish and chips place right here in clovis. What I like about this place is, it doesn’t have the beautiful décor or fancy looks, but the food here is amazing and generously portioned. The fish and chips were huge and perfectly cooked, crispy and not soggy, batter tasted delicious and the chips very nicely done. Served with sauce that is brought fresh as the food is served. Very good. For $ 10 I am very happy to find a fish and chips place that taste like it does in London England. If you are in fresno and craving fish and chips. This is the place to come. I would recommend the fish and chips most definitely. Furthermore the music that they play in this restaurant is really soothing, even an old couple who came before me was heard saying how they appreciate the music.

This is the best Fish and Chips in Clovis This store is not owned by the same folks that own the other West Coast Fish N’ Chips store in Fresno. The portions are very large for the price you pay and they are pretty friendly. This has been a staple in the area for many years.

My first time at West Coast and I left not too happy. I went to this Fish & Chips with high expectations, as I have read many reviews on Unilocal that seemed to have positive compliments and reviews. I walked in and I was the only one in there, it was about 4pm which I thought was odd. This is always a bad sign for me, not seeing no one in a restaurant. Well I ordered two pieces of fish. The fish was crunchy, nice size and very warm when I got them. They came with an okay tartar sauce. I know mine is better to tell you the truth so that was a little disappointing. Well I also ordered the onion rings instead of having the chips that came with it and was told that they was .90 cents more. I said fine give me the onion rings. Well here’s where my visit went downhill, as the onion rings had hardly any batter on them and they were lukewarm at best. I told the owner and she said, «well you can put them in a 350 °F oven and they will warm up and taste just as good as when they were first cooked». I was really surprised by her response. I have to tell you that she was Asian and a very nice lady. Umm they make do this in her home country, I get it, but this was the first time I ordered food out and was told to take it home and cook it myself lol. Overall I give this place 2 stars. Would I go back? I dont think so.
