Mallard Pointe Kennels Grooming Shop

Horrific treatment of customers. Scheduled an appt for my senior dog to be groomed. He has an injured leg, so my old groomer didn’t think she could take him. Explained the issues to Mallard Pointe and they were happy to book him. Decided to call back and bump up the appt (since he needed groomed really badly) and the receptionist was super nice and happy to accommodate. She told me she took notes about the needs of my dog. Got there this am to drop him off and the person at the desk didn’t even look up. Assuming she was busy, I waited patiently. She eventually looked up and it was immediately apparent that she had a bad attitude. «What are you here for?» she snipped. I stated that we were there for a grooming appt. She turned away from me, got up, and walked around the counter to view my dog. She made a humph noise and was like, «well, we only have him down for a bath.» When I attempted to explain, she interrupted me and demanded to know why my previous groomer wouldn’t see my dog. At that point, I could no longer pretend that her attitude was even the least bit acceptable. I told her I was sorry she was having a bad day, but that I would not be leaving my dog in her care. I was appalled at her behavior. Unprofessional. I simply would not leave a beloved member of my family in the care of someone like that. Yikes.

I select a kennel based on 3 things — hours, facilities and price.
The strong point to Mallard Point are their hours — Sunday hours are really key and MP is open from 4 – 6 on Sunday. Score 1 for Mallard Pointe.
The facilities are nice and each dog has it’s own dog run with a doggie door. This is another plus for me, although I did see some dogs in little cages inside. I assume they were grooming clients waiting for pickup.
The price here is quite reasonable — under $ 20 per night and for another $ 10 they trimmed my dogs nails.
The place appears to fill up on the weekends so make sure you get a reservation in.
