Denny’s

It’s a nice and clean establishment.
Unfortunately, that’s the only good part of it. Dry food, a 40 minute wait for food, forgetting my drink for thirty minutes, one avocado slice on my avocado skillet, et cetera. The experience was pretty much awful and the tastes didn’t make up for it.
Anyway, my stomach kinda hurts now.

Idk why this dennys ratings are so low. We stopped by on our way to LA and the service was very good! The waitress was very helpful. She even told us she went back there and made my girlfriends pancakes personally. We were in and out of there in less then 30minutes! You cant go wrong with country fried steak!

So normally I wouldn’t do this. However this Denny’s is always out of something last time it was out of hoagie rolls, now it’s out of pumpkin pancakes, chocolate lava filling. I swear the fries are always burnt or they never change the oil. The waiters are useless or running around with their heads cut off. We got here around «dinner rush» as a former buss girl I could handle 20 people with my eyes closed with more attentiveness than our «waiter». On top of that a good waiter or waitress knows the menu. Also when you tell the waiter/​was the condiments ahead of time it should all be ready to go when the meal comes take an extra 5 seconds to get it all together. It was so bad that I had to get the manager to refill a soda. However this is not the worst Denny’s I have been too.

How bad can a Denny’s be? Well, come to this location and you will find out. Nothing on the menu seemed to be available. After four tries, we finally found something on the menu that they really have (in other words, something that the kitchen can serve).
We waited for more than 30 mins to be served (apparently there was a party of 15 people taking up all their time. The rest of the restaurant was completely empty). The food was stale at best. The Santa Fe skillet I ordered was pretty much burnt by the time it hit our table.
Poorly maintained with dirty floors and terrible staff.
The question is, why keep such an establishment open? Is it even making money?
Several fast food joints around this area serve far better food. Take my advice — try one of those fast food places across the street. You will thank me later.

Have stopped here several times traveling I-​5, and have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and the food is never disappointing. It is a Denny’s, so don’t expect the same type of attention you would receive at a Ma and Pa diner. Nice to sit down and enjoy a meal when road tripping rather than shoving a burger in your face on the road.

Came back after 7 months and yes! The service has improved. Marcus was great in ensuring good service and great food as usual. Will surely stop by — my I-​5 favorite.

Worst Denny’s ever. Horrible service. Slow and got our order completely wrong. «You don’t need to write anything down?» «Oh no, I got it.» …obviously not if I ordered French toast and you brought me eggs. Then when stating the mistake he brought out plain not toasted toast with butter. Is this a new kind of French? Pancakes were horrible and he didn’t get any other changes to our orders correct. No refills of our coffee or water. We didn’t receive any discount and hardly an apology. 85 cents is a more than reasonable tip.

Gross!!! Had lunch with classmates and we all had food poisoning… Only thing positive is that they renovated and removed the nasty carpet which wrecked of urine… Only gave it a star thanks to the waiter who was polite!!!

It pains me to even give 1 star. As soon as you open the door you get bombed by the stench that resembles sewage! Turned right around. Nasty with even more questionable looking staff, yes I know it’s Denny’s.

If only I could give no stars. Sitting took 5 – 10 minutes and there’s was only 3 tables taken. Don’t know why.
Our service was terrible, including the manager. The server took our order and the drinks took about 10 minutes, all were water except one, coffee. The coffee was filled to the rim and then the server asked if I would like some cream. I would love some cream if I had the space for it.
We got all our plates about 25 minutes later not too bad, except the fact that one plate was missing. When we had asked about the plate, he had not put an order in for it. The plate had to be ordered and was not going to be done until we were all done eating. Very rude, to make someone wait for their food of plate and everyone have theirs.
The WORST: When I bit into my own food, my sausage was not cooked. I told the server and he brought the manager right away. Instead of a sincere apology, the manager tried to give me a smart a** lecture on how the sausage was pre cooked and I wasn’t in any danger. And I quote him «I believe salmonella is in chicken not sausage». As we were leaving to pay we ended up canceling the last plate that arrived as we were about to walk to the register.
At the register he decided to cancel my uncooked plate so I wouldn’t pay for it. The reason for this was because he heard me say I would complain.
At the end of the day, customers that are driving on the 5 are already having a long day, don’t make it worse. Eating should always be a pleasant experience. Next time I know to go to McDonalds instead of Dennys. At least they have fast service and cooked food.
Stay away from this location.

Hey what can you say, its Dennys! I stopped in for a quick lunch on my way to LA and I had the bourbon burger. The funny thing is, this was an excellent burger and better then some of the high end so called gourmet burgers that I have had in the past. The young man was that waited on me was very attentive and apologetic when my burger took awhile. Drinks were constantly refilled and the fries were excellent. If making that crazy drive down 5, I will stop here anytime over a fast food joint.

So sad. The place looks great & clean. You notice this as you wait to be seated & get passed up while the host & hostess seat their friends ahead of customers who were here first. You notice this as you sit at your table waiting… waiting…waiting for a server. Then you notice more of the décor as you sit.and.wait.and.sit.and.wait for you drinks, then for your food. When the drinks finally arrive, there’s a mixup, but we accept the wrong flavored smoothie (thankfully my little one didn’t mind). When the food comes, it’s typical Denny’s.
Our server, Franco, was actually pretty great. Very apologetic & as accommodating as possible. He was polite & entertaining for our kids. He told us the kitchen was backed up.
On our way out, there were at least 4 empty tables waiting to be bussed, and a crowd of hungry folks just waiting to be seated.
It’s sad really… next time we’ll save 2 hours and just get drive thru.

So just like anyone & everyone we frequent Denny’s whenever hunger pangs strike. We were driving from Sacramento to LA when we decided to stop off and share a breakfast only to have the best diner experience ever. The staff was warm and exuded a welcoming vibe. The Service was phenomenal. Jasmine was an absolute delight, attentive and so personable. A Gem of a person to have on your team and made our meal at 6am so wonderful!

We waited for about 15 minutes to get seated. Also the waitress did not check on us to see if we needed anything. My cousins husband had to get up to get my cousin a Tabasco bottle and that’s when they asked if we needed anything.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Get in waited 10 mins to get seated. Then the waitress’s takes us to table with NO CHAIRS. Did I miss the point of being seated. She told us us she would have to get some chairs. So we ask of we can sit on
The other side of the restaurant that is empty and were told they had to clean it apparently they just left the table dirty. 10 mins later apparently the tables still were not clean and we ended up leaving. Don’t Waste your time coming here

If you’re able to kill an hour and a half and don’t need much, then this is the place for you.
My mom and I headed back home from San Jose and were hungry, we opted for the healthier option which is Denny’s. (Unless you consider McDonalds, Carl’s Jr or some gas station food healthy.)
I expected them to be somewhat busy but I thought that they must be used to it considering how many people must stop there. Surprise surprise, they weren’t!
I stood and waited ten minutes to be seated, I was obviously noticed, just not catered to. As I waited to be seated, I noticed two complaints about unclean tables.
Once the manager acknowledged me, she instructed someone to seat me and they told me they were going to wipe the table clean before taking me over there, I saw them clean the table, too bad they didn’t ask me to come over. There goes another five minutes.
A waiter by the name of Franco finally seated us, he is what earned the review a star! He’s the star of Denny’s but he was obviously overwhelmed, so many people complaining about their food, their wait, the service, etc.
He was friendly and handling everything the best he could, that man really deserves a raise and a promotion.
Once we ordered, the food take what seemed a lifetime to appear, but when Franco saw it, he noticed it was wrong, apologized profusely and fixed it.
It wasn’t that great and the lettuce in me sandwich was not fresh at all, in fact, it was browning. Some of it was that purple stuff you find tossed around in larger much greener salads.
I expected sub-​par food, as what is to be expected of Denny’s, but hot dang, can’t employees other than Franco care at least a little?

Antonio B. is the best thing about this Denny’s off H-​5. Busy in the morning and Antonio took our order perfectly.
Ordered 4 Grand Slams two coffees and hot chocolate for the kids and got on our way in a jiffy.
Thanks Antonio B. you are too good for this place. Please consider to aspire higher. Denny’s is lucky to have you.

It’s in the middle of nowhere-​land.
Walked in and picked anywhere to sit since it was dead in there (until about dinner time. That’s when the whole town walked in).
Ismael waited on us and he was an awesome server.
Got the Grand Slam with eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes. Everything was cooked great. The bacon could have been a little crispier, but the pancakes made up for it. I could cut them with a fork and of course I drenched them in syrup and butter because I was on vacation. Duh!

Where do you go in the middle of the night when nothing is open and you are hungry? Denny’s. of course.
Unlike the previous reviewers, I had literally no wait time to sit and the service was quick and attentive. The waitress was friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to find out the ingredients in one of the items (which turned out did contain eggs) and together we were able to vegan-​ize one of the menu options since none of them were really suitable.
It was quite tasty, the price was cheap, and it filled me up. I am sure I will be back for breakfast the next time I am in Coalinga.
