I wish I lived in Coats, North Carolina because I would be here all the time. While my husband visited Campbell University, I dropped into the Cornerstone café to get some studying done. I was worried it would be frowned upon to spend all day taking up a 4 person table to study. I couldn’t have been more wrong. First off, the staff were super friendly and efficient. When I told them I would be there most of the morning and afternoon they didn’t even bash an eyelash. They were happy to let me study and refill my water glass and take intermittent orders from me. I started our with the fruity waffle. Simple Belgian waffle with strawberries, bananas and whipped Crème. The syrups on the side, which I like because I only like a little. I studied for a little before ordering a vanilla cappuccino. It was more like a vanilla latte but it was good, and half the time Starbucks does that too. I finished up my stay with a BLT on a croissant. It was amazing. One of the best I’ve ever had, and that is saying something since that’s generally my go-to order for sandwiches at restaurants. Overall, it was a great experience. I will definitely go back if I’m in town again. Edit: I forgot to mention how cheap all the food is!

Sandwiches are REALLY good… except the chick salad. Had my baby shower there… service was pretty good too. Just didn’t like how stale the chips tasted and my entire event was pretty disturbed by the awful singing taking place on the piano up front.

Great spot and location in the quaint little town of Coats, near Campbell University and in the heart of Hairnet County. Get the Elvis Waffle and add bacon(yes they dropped the ball by not including it already)

For sure a must visit! Coats is a quiet little town in Harnett County, with just a few reasons to visit. Cornerstone is a must on that visit list! Daily specials are worth the try– recently had the shrimp tacos… tasted like it was right off the food truck off the streets of Cali! #yum The fresh mango added extra flavor! I love the shrimp tacos! My every visit must is an Iced Espresso Coffee! All around perfect place to either hang out, meet with friends, network with others or enjoy the couch! #lovecornerstone

I love the staff at Cornerstone! Cornerstone has a great place in the back where students can study with a yummy bite to eat. They have special offers for Campbell students during finals week. :)

Horrible coffee period. Do not go here for coffee. If you are looking to have a nice cappuccino or latte, this is not the place for it. My $ 30 drip coffee maker, makes better coffee than their espresso machine. Also, which café puts 4 seat dinner tables in a coffee shop? This place looks more like a family diner. I asked to get a breve, and the barista asked me «what is that?», and the picture/description of what goes in a Breve was right behind her. That is just not OK. The sad part is, this is the only café in Coats. I would give a 0 star if I could. This is a warning to real coffee drinkers, the quality of their coffee is equivalent to what you would get from a coffee making vending machine.

Pleasantly surprised with my visit. Friendly staff, downtown environment, and tasty food. I ordered the pimento cheese sandwich with a side of potato soup. Both were good. My coworkers had good things to say about their waffles as well. Oh! The food is decently priced as well.

Just driving around on a saturday, we came across a little gem in Coats. The owner is very personable, and the coffee and waffles were great. Nice down home atmosphere, service was quick, and the prices great. We will be taking our Saturday drives more often to this quaint little coffee shop

What a nice unexpected find in downtown Coats. I stopped in at the time just between breakfast and lunch and opted for breakfast, not realizing until much later that the waffles are available all day. Waffles aren’t just for breakfast anymore here. And that’s good. The chocolate waffle — a splurge for a late breakfast — was equal parts sweet and chocolatey. Sugar rush accomplished. I was expecting a chocolate waffle, for some reason, but was not disappointed with my ordinary waffle with lots of melted chocolate chips. There were enough chips for every indentation. Even though«Café» shows up first in the name, I actually stopped in for the Coffee. There are the standard coffee shop items, and they’re available even if you aren’t staying to eat. My latte was nicely made. Caffeine rush accomplished. Decorated with old pictures of local places and people, mostly law enforcement or fire responders from what I noticed, and a section of a wall honoring local military through the years, Cornerstone doesn’t overwhelm your senses with too much. The shop is long and sort of narrow, but with the high ceilings and smaller tables it doesn’t feel crowded at all. You can see outside from any spot and that keeps it from feeling claustrophobic. Local shops have a distinct advantage over the chain places, and Cornerstone is a good example of a local winner.
