Dr. Vernon «Chip» Ottenritter completely scammed my family and ripped us off!
My family contacted his office for dentist services and we presented ourselves along with our insurance information for our first appointments. We had insurance with a company that we discovered was not accepted by many dentists, but the doctor’s staff assured us we were fine to come to him.
All four members of my family saw Dr. Ottenritter for cleanings and x-​rays on three different dates, my daughter also went back to him for a tooth extraction and my husband went in for another visit for an extra cleaning. About a month after all of these visits, Dr. Ottenritter’s office calls to let us know they actually don’t accept our insurance. He kept trying to bill us for the full cost of services against our protests that HIS office made the mistake.
We ended up having to go to court. Even though it was Dr. Ottenritter’s mistake, we had to settle on making a partial payment of what he wanted for all of those services.
Dr. Ottenritter, at worst, is a scam artist and completely unethical. At best, he has incompetent office staff and he stubbornly tries to cover up for them and doesn’t care that he’s wrong.
I wouldn’t trust an unethical liar for a dentist, would you?
