I used to love this place! The cupcakes were my absolute favorite! I’m not sure if I’ve just realized or if the recipe has changed. The frosting is so overly cream cheese like its a little nauseating. I think they use cream cheese in every frosting for every cupcake… Kind of an over load! I still buy cupcakes here but I’m really disappointed in the amount of cream cheese I taste in the frosting.

Baked made our wedding cupcakes, and the Hummingbird is an intoxicating Southern ambrosia of fruits, spice and moist cake. The entire order was fulfilled with efficiency and precision that settled the bride, both appealing to her constant planner persona as well as dating that cupcake-fixed sweet tooth. Good show. In subsequent visits to Baked, however, we’ve found the sweets a bit lacking. My ginger snap cookie was long in the toothsome, while the Sandcastles(cinnamon sugar coated donut muffin cuppers?) were moist and caked in the sweet. The selection is so on the baker’s whim, we’ve found highly sought after items missing for weeks in end. Plsmakebrowniesandricekrispietreatsktksbye It’s a fine shop, and worth a fly-by for a walker’s treat. Just add another coat of polish and a bigger display rack, Baked — your customers deserve it!

And suddenly, the stoners are intrigued… My first time here was when it just opened near New Years over a year ago. The snickerdoodle cupcake was pretty decent, with a nice icing and moist cake. However, I’m not a huge cupcake fan and French Memories is more my cup-of-tea. Then I visited more recently and went for a red velvet, just to try something basic and fundamental. The cream cheese frosting was decent, as it had a nice tangy balance. However, the cake itself was rather dry and lacking in flavor. The décor, admittedly, is pretty. The interior does have some warmth and cuteness to it. However, the products I care more about are the baked goods, as I’m not here for the looks of the store. The prices are a little high, but that’s expected, given the location. No need to go out-of-your-way here, but if you’re just dying for a cupcake just slightly beyond supermarket quality/creativity, I suppose this will satiate the hunger.

New location in Cohasset. moved from N. Scituate. Parking can be tough, and it’s on a busy street, but definitely worth a near death experience to savor these treats. My favorite cupcake place on the South Shore. Love the chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing and different assortment available to choose from daily. Recommend.
