I WOULD give this company a «0» if that was a choice! Dave Plassa, Owner of D & S Auto Repair –is Robert’s Auto Service’s partner for auto repair work. I purchased a 2008 BMW X3 from Robert’s on Troy Sch’dy Rd in Latham 10/​21/​2015. D & S is their go to mechanic who pretty much does inspections for Robert’s. The night I brought the SUV home, it was pouring rain and the entire interior rear section, carpet, storage areas, tool box, was full of water after I drove 5 miles home. The SUV did not want to start when I was leaving Roberts, I thought it was me, not giving it enough gas or something, since the battery is right under all the water, I’m think that is why it didn’t want to start. Johnny Torres, the sales guy at Robert’s first told me the Detailers used to much water, then he told me pine needles were stuck in the track of the sunroof causing the water to run in like a river. Which reason do you suppose Dave Plassa gave me? Choice 1 or 2? For all those who picked 2, congratulations — word for word what Johnny Torres said. NOW, one would think that D & S Auto Mechanic’s, would say — «hmm, water, battery, vehicle not start, lights flicker on and then off, electric window ok one day then not ok, maybe water is getting into the battery or wires and shorting things out, right? «. WRONG! The vehicle was in an 2 car collision 2/​2012, Johnny Torres, Sales mgr at Robert’s would not give me the CAR FAX report, so I got it myself. Then he said there was no damage report even though the CAR FAX states there is. I asked him multiple times to find out if the rear end was hit, and/​or the front left was hit, because the front left has a PING every time I take a sharp turn going 20 – 25 mph, but he won’t get me the info. Dave insisted nothing is wrong with anything on 10/​27/​2015, meanwhile, the SUV died in my driveway Sunday 11÷8÷2015, I had it towed right back to D & S, even the AAA Tow Truck driver confirmed something is surely wrong. He included a 5 page letter I wrote to Dave in the plastic bag with the key and dropped it in the lock box. I also called Dave and Johnny Torres at Robert’s and left them BOTH lengthy messages on 11÷08÷15, and I will admit I was irate, because working with both of these companies has been a complete nightmare! I should’ve kept my 2000 Mercedes which was in far better shape than this 2008 SUV and donated my old chevy Pickup to someone with no vehicle, like ME NOW, but now I have a nice fat car loan I start to pay 12÷5÷2015 and no vehicle at all!. These two companies are absolutely horrible, you cannot believe anything they tell you. D & S only repairs what Robert’s Auto agrees to pay for, if Robert’s won’t pay the repair bill, Dave lies right thru his teeth and tells you the same lies Robert’s staff tells him to tell you. I have filed a formal complaint with the NYS AG’s Dept of Consumer Protection today, 518−776−2307,and spoke with them several times since Monday morning. There are more such cases if you log onto the BBB — Better Business Bureau website for Albany County who these crooks are not part of, and even if you log onto Robert’s Auto Service Facebook and click on «TIME LINE», scroll down and look to the left of the page you will get the full jest of how bad these guys are. There are MANY of us who have been given the royal shaft job by these people. Robert’s only wants you to sign on the dotted line then they want nothing to do with you and D & S has his little deal going with Robert’s to do inspections, most of us don’t even get the oil changes we are assured of. I was told my sticker fell off the window, funny it wasn’t in the SUV when I picked it up. BEWARE and STAY AWAY, unless you have a lot of money to loose/​blow/​burn, no one should have to go through any of this. I have owned this vehicle 3 weeks today and have been Without it going on 6 days with more days to come and right now I don’t know where it is, what’s wrong with it, if these scumbags are working on it or not. If they wonder why I filed a complaint with the AG’s office, this should surely explain things. I also have a long posting on my FB page OPEN TO THE PUBLIC pertaining to these two companies that provides more details. Robert’s also has a history of putting a Limited Warranty for 1 year in your package of contract papers but that Fiancé Guy, YL, doesn’t ever send an application and the premium into First Extended Service Corp. I called yesterday, mine should’ve been all setup over a week ago, the Insurance company told me the Finance Mgr who is an arrogant sob, SHOULD HAVE handled this. Same guy who reduced my trade in $$$ and then removed my GAP coverage costs that was on my first Bill of Sale so I wouldn’t notice the change in total charges on the final Bill of Sale. They ARE ALL BAD NEWS. I can only pray the NYS AG;s office does something about this shady racket of crooks! I wish I knew about

I bought my 2001 Cadillac Deville from Robert’s in February 2015. Since then, I have had to bring my car to their repair facility D&S Auto in COHOES (resident of Schenectady, work in Albany) 4 times! They have told me repeatedly there is nothing wrong with the car, but I get notifications that my coolant is low (couldn’t remove the coolant cap to check myself because it’s jammed, but they assured me I’m wrong and the coolant is fine) so I finally manage to get the coolant cover off, and go figure, the coolant is low. My windshield wipers didn’t even work less than 12 hours after getting the car, a valve stem was broken on a tire causing a slow leak that prevented the tire from taking any air when I tried to reinflate it, and there was NO OIL in my vehicle. I managed to convince them that it’s not in my head after the third visit and they finally repaired the coolant issue and windshield wipers. Pictures of the car notifications and video were necessary. I added oil myself, because why would my car I just purchased bother having the necessary oil it needs? Not long after all those issues, my check engine light goes on and the car’s RPM’s start going nuts while idling in park (video of this as well). I bring it back to D&S again (because it’s not being paid for by me if I go there, and only there) where they say they fixed the check engine issue and I should be all set. Go to today (just picked the car up yesterday for the engine issues) and on my 20 minute drive to work, shocker! THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON! I am not happy with this dealership, with it’s mechanic, with it’s flippant attitude toward the issues on this car, and with their customer service. I shouldn’t have to bring my vehicle back in to their mechanic for the 5^th time since purchasing this car 2 months ago. I never recommend anyone ever go to this dealership unless it’s the only one left open, ever. I doubt that will ever happen, so if you do choose to go here… I warned you.
