The best ice cream around. It is alway busy here and it is worth it! The cookie dough is amazing! My wife always gets mint chocolate and that’s good too. If you’re looking to take the wife or kids out for a nice ice cream date, I would say go here.

This place is ENTIRELY too pricey. $ 3.50 for a kiddie cone. Get lost. Also, the guy who sold me my cone told me their soft frozen yogurt was«new» this year and was lactose free now. He was very, very wrong. Thanks for the stomach ache, Guptils. I won’t be seeing you later.

Fun place and lots of history and nostalgia at the ice cream stand and skating rink next door but the ice cream is just ok. Like Baskin Robbins more than Brooklyn Ice Cream factory. I had the Cappacino Crunch and my woman had a Flurry which was«exactly like McDonalds.» Bottom line, like being back in my childhood ice cream spots without the impressive quality!

Ordinarily one of our favorite summer spots but today the strawberry shortcake sundae wasn’t close to its usual outstanding treat. Ice cream, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. What happened to the delicious shortcake and strawberries?

The cheap a** ATM thats front and center gives it right away as soon as you step up… Typical cash only business that puts a $ 2 surcharge atm out front. Yeah its ok for me to give you $ 2 so I can take $ 20 out… but my business isnt worth 2 cents on the dollar. What’s with the ridiculous prices? All these off cent prices…3.84…4.38…what kind of scam is this? Please get over yourselves. Cut it out with the obnoxious radio ads too please. Am I the only one that wants to reach through the radio and choke this guy out? Unbelievable waffle cones? LOL Unbelievable price! !! They are upwards of $ 5.00!!! Ben and Jerrys is less! HA!!! Bathrooms are closed? Yeah probably because they don’t want the kids smudging up the gold plated fixtures paid for by their mindnumb idiot parents!!! Are you kidding me? Get a clue!!! Go up the corner to the cumbys and let the kid pick an ice pop out save yourself the aggervation!!! Get real people!!! It’s not my fault nobody roller skates anymore!!! I got a SECRET for you… save your money!!!

I love this place. Best soft-serve ice cream in town! But pricy and lately inconsistent portion sizes. Very little difference in size between a small twist cup and regular. Perhaps a small could be smaller so we can see the difference? My other half usually gets a large twist dish and I’ve seen varying portion sizes too.

Pros — they have a HUGE selection of flavors in soft/hard/yogurt varieties. The black raspberry/vanilla twist is a favorite of mine. Cons — OVERPRICED! Over $ 4 for a regular sized soft serve cone? Give me a break… And a sundae… that will run you close to $ 10! Not to mention, the brownie you get on in a brownie sundae is a dry, microwaved piece of crap. Cash only, but they do have an ATM out front(which of course charges you fees, so in reality your paying an additional $ 2-$ 3 for their products) I will continue to patronize Coney on occasion… only for convenience since I live very closeby… but if I want more bang for my buck, I’ll head to SnowMans.

Where to begin. well. 1. They have a massive parking lot which is always kept very clean and neat 2. They have several windows to take your order so there is typically little to no wait time. 3. Basically every selection of sugar induced goodness you can possibly want. 4. Plenty of seating with abundant sun access as well as umbrellas to keep you cool. 5. A HUGE grassy field you can lay a beach towel on and really soak up the nice day. 6. … a roller rink next door. So you can work off all that sugar! I mean c’mon this place has so many amazing features and I really didn’t even get into the guts of this review. the cold stuff in the cone. Their ice cream is fantastic. I mean it’s not really hard to mess up ice cream but what they do is offer a HUGE variety of flavors along with any kind of dip and shell to coat your delicious treat in. The ice cream cone sizes are hilarious too… if you are unsure and don’t want diabetes — I don’t recommend any larger than a regular size. These things can get towering high! They also have a fantastic selection of sundaes and splits. basically if you want a good time to relax and get some quality ice cream either with the family, a date(perfect date destination), or even just solo to grab a chocolate peanut butter shake on your way through route 9(was it obvious thats my favorite flavor hehe) Only negative… cash only. But they do have an ATM there for you — but bring your own cash and save the fee. All this ice cream talk is making my blood sugar feel low… may have to stop there today ;)

Very good ice cream. It’s a cash only place, so come prepared or spend money on fees using their ATM. Nice menu with a great variety of ice cream options. Lots of parking and places to sit.

When Guptill’s open up for the summer, I spend a lot of time being indecisive because there’s so many options! Thank goodness they have multiple windows open to take orders because I have to read everything. It’ll take me years to make my way through their menus, but you really can’t go wrong with anything. Guptill’s is an annual family favorite; we always make it down here during the summer for a cone or our favorite black raspberry milkshakes after we’ve gone hiking or fishing. I look forward to grabbing ice cream here whenever summer rolls around!

Hands down the best local ice cream place. It’s basically a walk-up ice cream Mecca with plenty of outdoor seating. They are open April through October. And I’m embarrassed to say we go almost once a week when it’s open. They have hard ice cream, soft ice cream, frozen yogurt, shakes, sundaes… basically everything! I would recommend the toasted coconut hard ice cream. With just a hint of coconut it is divine! S’mores is also a fan favorite. Warning!!! The brownie sundae will put you in a Diabetic coma and it is huge… so plan on sharing!!! Insider tip– they only take cash so come prepared. Reasonably priced for how large the portions are and the service never disappoints!!!

I’m a huge fan of Guptill’s Coney Express! The ice cream is great. My favorite is Peanut Butter Pie — a pb ice cream with graham cracker and peanut butter cups mixed in. SOGOOD! And the servings are gigantic, a small is two rather large scoops. The prices are reasonable. You certainly get a lot of ice cream for what you pay, I think a small two scoops is $ 3 something. But SOMUCHICECREAM!!! There’s plenty of parking and service has been solid each of the times I’ve been there. Would definitely recommend!

Totally RUDE employees. I’ve been bringing my classic car to thier Monday cruise in nights for over 14 years. I’ve eaten dinner at the snack bar, then for awhile was getting an ice cream for dessert, until the prices got too high. Just a few nights ago, the night of the August show, 8/11, my car sprung an antifreeze leak and overheated. Totally unexpected. I needed water and a way to get it into my car. I asked for a container, or something, at the snack bar inside and was told ‘i dont think we have a container for that’ and she proceeded to move onto the next customer. I went to the Coney Express and explained my situation again, and asked if they could fill one of their empty milk jugs with tap water. I even offered to pay for it. The girl looked confused at my request, went to get the manager. He came over and rudely told me if i want water to go inside and get it. I again explained that I was stranded and they couldnt help me. He snapped and said what makes you think I have anything back here? I pointed to, one of MANY, milk jugs on the back counter and said you have that right there, i just need water for my car, please? He looked back at the jugs, then at me and rudely said, I dont have any empties, you’ll just have to wait. Then gave me a nasty look and mumbled under his breath while walking away. Not only do you have TERRIBLE customer service skills Mr Coney Express manager, your human compassion for a person in need, needs a LOT to be desired. You suck, and your ice cream is too expensive.

A «small» is two scoops and runs $ 3.50. I did not pick up on where they source their ice cream, but we had an oddly mixed batch, with a cappuccino crunch that was inedibly bitter(did they put Heathbar in it?) and a very bad peanut butter chocolate, with a decent strawberry and a favored rainbow sherbet. Maybe not enough to make a snap judgment on the place, but not quite enough to lure us back from a distance. The large grassy area just to the side of the place begs some kind of attraction, like a mini golf course or an historical marker, but I suspect it belongs as expansion space for the orthodox cemetery the next lot over. For now it was a pleasant place to try to outpace the mosquitoes, after the enormous ice cream cones had been reduced by the kids to a more acceptable size.

The ice cream is delicous, so much so that I would drive 20 minutes for it. I respect that they hire younger people who want jobs, however that means many of them have NO customer service experience. Rude rude rude! God forbid anyone struck up a conversation with a customer! Didn’t appreciate being turned away at exact closing time after the drive out there. I work in service and would never have my back to a customer for 3 minutes and then say«oh we closed one minute ago.»

I have enormous respect for the Guptill family and the success they have had with their businesses. However, I can’t say this is the best ice cream in the area. It’s good and the assortment is plentiful. However it is overpriced. Try visiting LePages Market in Cohoes for better value and ambiance. I would even prefer Stewarts ice cream. Don’t get me wrong. Guptill’s ice cream is very good. But there are better values out there.

Guptill’s Coney Express is kind of like the trendy nightclub of summer ice cream spots. Without a doubt this is the place to go when you wish to eat ice cream in a parking lot.
It represents classic Americana, playing off an almost 1950’s happy days theme complete with roller skates, high school sweethearts and classic cars. They run a massive radio advertising campaign based on the idea that their ice cream is the best in the world and will cause mouth orgasm. The ice cream and yogurt is good and the portions are so huge it almost makes the prices seem reasonable. Bottom line: Good place to get ice cream if you’re in the area.
