Let me start by saying I don’t think it should be legal to advertise going out of business or changing management or retiring sales unless those actions are taking place. This is your typical furniture store that uses 1950’s bait and switch techniques and high pressure closures to get the deal done. Prices are nothing to brag about, but not horrible either and the selection is good. The customer service and sales team/management and owner shouldn’t be trusted and I wouldn’t recommend promoting this to anyone. Everyone has to make a living, but Wendell should be ashamed of himself for teaching his children and grand children that this is somehow ok because it’s made his family rich.

I purchased furniture from the Plattsburgh store before it closed. I originally purchased a couch, a chair and two mattress/box spring combos. The salesperson, Nate, was really wonderful and helpful. Our furniture arrived on time and they delivery guys were great. About a week or so later, the chair broke, but we couldn’t figure out how or why. Put in a call to get some response, but it took over 3 weeks and many more phone calls to hear from them. Finally Nate got back in touch with us(and it wasn’t really his place to call us, but someone from customer service) and he resolved the problem. I was so pleased that I decided to go back and purchase the storage ottoman that matched the set, which I got discounted because the store was closing. It arrived on time and we enjoyed it for about the same amount of time before it broke. One of the hinges came loose from the screw popping out somehow. My son cut his foot on the ottoman, and that’s the only reason why we found out it was broken. This time, I contacted one of the Vermont stores, since the Plattsburgh store was closing/closed. Left a message for someone, never heard back. Waited three week, heard nothing. Called back, left a message emphasizing my son got hurt on the product, got a call back later that day. Was told by gentleman that they would get me a new ottoman, but, since it wasn’t «In stock» they’d have to order it, which could take 6 – 8 weeks! Fine I said. I will just make defective product safe for our children. Asked if it would be delivered to me, since I’m in NY and their NY store, where I purchased item was closed. Was told yes, and that it would be left on my porch. I know I probably got a bad batch of furniture, but it just seems like this particular line of furniture is not durable. Disappointed with the length of time it took to get someone to contact me in regards to the defective items. Also a bit disappointed it is going to take so long to get a new item. The problem is being resolved, but could have been handled better. The furniture is a good price and the sales staff is friendly and helpful. But after the sale could use some work.

Went in this week after going to the Superstore. Was looking for a couch. Went to Superstore and got there at 5:30, I was greeted with«we close at 6». Really? So looked around and left. The next night we went to Wendell’s. All I can say is excellent service, excellent quality, tons to choose from and most of all friendly and accommodating. Justin was the most helpful salesperson that I have encountered in a long time! Not pushy, gave us the time we needed to look and decide without hounding us. Super friendly and helpful! Will return to finish the rest of my furniture redecorating needs!

I wanted to let you all know that Wendell’s did indeed send my couch out to me and on time! The delivery team was also great to deal with. After they out it together they even left me the tools to take it apart. So no complaints on that side at all! What still remains as an issue is Wendall’s can be a little bit on the pricy side. I was lucky enough and found the couch up on the loft. The loft is where they keep discounted items. Normally it means they just can not order it any longer. Otherwise my experience with Wendell’s was great! Check out the loft for that one killer deal! Who knows you might even find it!

Wendell’s furniture just provided Dress for Success Burlington with some amazing furniture for our new Boutique in Burlington. From the beginning of the relationship, they were great. Tara invited me into the shop to take a look around and together we picked out several pieces that our clients will totally enjoy! The delivery was a breeze! These folks run an amazing family business that really cares about our community. If you haven’t made a trip to Wendell’s you need to. I know I will be back. I’ve got my eye on a beautiful couch for my house…

I bought my new king-sized mattress and box spring from Wendell’s a couple years ago during a holiday sale. I got a great price on a Sealy, but the good new stops there. During my visit the sales person who was«helping» me kept taking calls and texting on his cell phone while I tried out beds — that’s fine, I figured it was work-related and didn’t pay it much attention. However, when we sat down for me to fill out paperwork and pay, his cell phone rang, and he answered it(very rude, I’m about to hand you a ton of money). His cell phone volume was turned up so loud that I could clearly hear the caller on the other end who said, «Hey, a*shole, you sold me a bed, and we have a problem — it appears to already have been f*cked on.» Clearly, a friend of his playing some sort of practical joke. The sales guy laughed and said to his friend, «I gotta go I’m working.» Classy. I was then told that I would have the mattress and box spring delivered by Thursday, guaranteed. Well, Wednesday rolled around, and I called to check because I hadn’t received the deliver confirmation call. Turns out that mattress wasn’t in stock and wouldn’t be delivered for another three weeks. I was ticked off and spoke to Wendell himself who apologized and offered to send me a gift certificate for dinner for two to a local restaurant. I accepted — but no gift certificates ever arrived. Now, two years later, my mattress sucks — there’s a huge sink hole in the middle. And, besides, their catch phrase is, «We make deals.» Sorry, I don’t want to make a deal — I want the best price, honest customer service and no hassle. Never again.
