Came here for Father’s day today and i had high hopes because of all the high reviews. However, it was an utter disappointment. :(The service was terrible! The host did not greet us with a smile and she gave away our table before she realized it was ours. The servers were not friendly at all. We had to ask for our menus and plates to be cleared. They only had one waiter and 2 runners for the entire upstairs which I didn’t think it was enough. We constantly had to get their attention for stuff. The food was slow too. The only thing that tasted good was the thai calamari. The fish and chips were bad. There were barely any fish, all i tasted was the batter and the fries were cold too. The salmon was overcooked and the rice was dry and the whole dish was bland. The mussels tasted like typical mussels dish. The pizza had thin crust. The only thing that’s nice about this place was the decoration for the upstairs. Think it was newly renovated. It has a nice view of the water if you get a table by the windows. I’m also really annoyed that we had to pay 20% tips for horrible service! They have two parking lots. One for valet and one for self parking. And we just realized the mac and cheese that we ordered and asked to take home was not packed away for us. We did not even touch the plate! Will never come back here!

Perfect spot for a Bridal Shower! Newly updated upstairs room. We had my daughters shower there this past weekend and it was wonderful. Watching Justin and his crew assisting the bridesmaids with setting up the decorations to the constant attention of all the wait staff doting on everyone I couldn’t have asked for a better venue! Food and drinks plentiful!

Food and dessert was excellent(try the tiramisu), beautiful view, and wonderful service from the waiters! Only request is… vegan entrée, one day soon(we hope).

Great seafood, sandwiches and entrees. Superb service with a nice view. A jewel tucked away in cold spring harbor on the north shore of Long Island.

There’s a place in this world for Harbor Mist… Well, at least on this Island. And I am going to find it, because I’m not sure the way I used it on my first visit was best. First, there were so many great suggestions written by other reviewers that I could not find, only to later find they were on the bar menu. Second, we went the Italian food route, and I have a particular set of expectations when it comes to pricy Italian food, especially if it’s stuff I can cook at home. The atmosphere at Harbor Mist(in the main restaurant, second level) is wonderful, classy, and updated. Not so for the bar, but that bar serves its purpose. So we picked the Butchers Plate to start, which we were hoping would rival some of the best charcuterie plates we’ve had, but it fell a bit flat. Felt a bit like a cold cut platter thrown together at your aunt’s house for your cousin’s graduation party. It wasn’t bad, but it just felt store bought. Now, mind you, this item’s price point was actually pretty low, 14 bucks I think. My wife ordered the Chicken Scarpiello and I ordered the Lobster Fra Diavolo. To be fair, they both were just that… Fair. My sauce should have been spicier, and the lobster tail was a bit over cooked while the shrimp was under cooked. It just didn’t feel like a $ 32 entrée. Her entrée was fairly portioned, everything was cooked right, it was just missing a bit of zing. Again, not really what she expected from a $ 26 entrée. Our local favorite Ciros in Kings Park could do both of those for 25% less and hit the bullseye. With the bottle of wine I purchased, this just didn’t feel quite like a $ 160 dinner, but that’s what it cost(aside from the $ 30 I dropped in the bar beforehand because my table wasn’t ready on time for our reservation). I won’t end it here, I will say that I will come back for the weekday half off specials at the bar. The bar menu has lots of good stuff that others have raved over, non-Italian selections that would be a steal at half price. After that visit I’ll update my review accordingly!

Pretty impressed that a restaurant like this existed close to where I live especially since my town seems to be flooded mainly with chain restaurants. Finding a hidden gem like this(with such a beautiful view) definitely makes my love for Long Island grow. I came here for the first time on Mother’s Day after comparing reviews both on Unilocal and on Open Table(mainly because I procrastinated and I needed a reservation ASAP at the best time available at my convenience). The reservation went smoothly– I got seated within minutes of arriving, there was plenty of parking, the water with the dock right across the street for great photo opportunities. The restaurant has two floors of seating(with a bar on the first floor as well to your left). The interior of this restaurant is so beautifully renovated. It feels so homey, romantic, and child friendly all at the same time. The noise level was a little loud but the tables all had adequate space in between so it was still pretty private as we couldn’t hear another table’s conversation. Onto the food: 1) Potato crusted salmon: very fluffy and not heavy in flavor with a deliciously flaky crust.(The one thing that could’ve made this dish perfect was if the fish itself was hotter in temperature) 2) Seafood Linguine: holy cow, my mom and I completely underestimated how big this dish actually was. It was overflowing with a variety of seafood. The pasta was not mushy and did not reek of any seafood. It had its very own flavor, which made the dish work so well. 3) Stuffed Pork of Loin: the pork was a little dry but the roasted tomatoes, broccoli and Marsala wine concoction helped it go down very easily.(To perfect this dish: more of the sauce please!)

Good for dating, weekend friends brunch and families gatherings. We had lobster Benedict, Thai calamari and steak. Lobster Benedict and steak are good but Thai calamari is not crispy, a bit disappointed. 4 stars for atmosphere and environment. 4 stars for food. Light, healthy and fresh. Nice presentation. Particular like their nutty orange sliced bread as free appetizer. Nice caring owner. 4÷24÷16. My family went back for the second time. We also brought a family friends of three. We all liked everything we ordered: Thai calamari, mussels, tuna salads, masala chicken, almond tilapia, bacon burger, steak and clam pasta. The only thing I felt not as good as last time was the nutty bread which was a big plus first time we came here. This time felt not fresh and so dry. A bit disappointed in their cranberry range bread. But the mini sponge cake came along were great. My 3 yrs ate 4 of them! We will definitely go back there for family brunch as well as friends gathering. Good service too.

Really beautiful spot! With the bay right in front, the sun warmed us up. The girl who served us was really friendly and kind. I had a salmon burger with fries, it was gorgeous, delicious and filling. I’ll definitely come back again!

Excellent dinner last night. All of our dishes were well prepared and properly served. The Crab Cake appetizer deserves special mention. Crabby with little filling, in a delicious sauce. Probably the best I have ever had. Given it was New Year’s Eve, the pace of service was reasonable and the noise level acceptable.

A gem… I recently moved to Huntington. I wanted a restaurant that had a nice view, good food, and nice ambiance without being over priced. This place is a quaint spot, it’s not a modern sexy restaurant, if you want a place to take family this is it! The view of the bay is so nice and the lobster roll was pretty good. My husband enjoyed his food also. It was a quiet Saturday and we made reservations. The menu has a great price point and there is a lil something on the menu for everyone.

A great view but stuck in 1980 North shore of Long island has limited number waterfront restaurants thus this location should be optimal. Second floor dining room with windows over the water in Cold Spring Harbor — this has potential! The young manager could not be more friendly and responsive — he can certainly run a busier place. Friday after Thanksgiving is slow but 20% occupancy is worrying — I think I know why. Time has stopped at this restaurant around 1980. The wait staff was uninterested, passed menus around in stacks and showed no interest in introducing specials. when asked what the daily soup was he directed me to the specials list. Drinks — order for a vodka Gibson straight up came on the rocks — fix was to take the ice out and pour the now watery drink into a martini glass — please don’t! Food was from 1980 as well, old fashioned and tired looking. Plating is not the chef’s strong suit. My wife and I ordered the same meat — flank steak — with different temperatures in different type of dishes. I received hers and she received mine. The common theme for both steaks was that they were so full of connective tissue that even a steak knife could not cut a piece off. The waiter was indifferent but the young manager acted well and agreed to replace the meat — sadly the kitchen was so slow responding that we had finished our meals and the re-fire ended up in a doggie bag — the dog loved it! The location has potential but the restaurant has passed its prime. My recommendation to the owner(s) is to contact the TV show Restaurant Impossible. Cold Spring Harbor and the North Shore deserves a great restaurant!

Sorry, brunch here was less than mediocre. We were a group of 10+ on a Saturday morning. They weren’t busy at all. Food took forever to come out, they forgot to bring out one persons order, at least four people ordered poached eggs and NONE of the yolks were runny. Blueberry pancakes were sour/bland. I tried a lobster roll and the lobster meat itself was very fresh and delicious. But there was almost no seasoning on it, so not sure everyone would be into it. I didn’t even taste any lemon. The upstairs is gorgeous, the view is awesome. Other than that, it was an overall disappointment unfortunately.

We had a good time here. The food was tasty and the view of the Harbour at the sunset was gorgeous! We had Monkfish with vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes coupled with a Chardonnay. Ended the meal with a cappuccino. I could come back anytime.

Just stopped in for lunch cant say I’ll be back. Beside the lackluster menu for non fish eaters the food we did order was nothing special. Small burger with an oversized bun one tomato and some almost white lettuce and fish and chips for my counterpart. I also got the potato soup which tasted just like just add water potato soup mix from the store super bland very thin. We got rum cake for desert very dry not the moist soaked in rum texture I was expecting. When the check came I was blown away $ 60! They didnt bother to mention that each fountain drink including club soda was $ 3 a piece no free refills. And the drinks are small easily less then a can so you go through them fast. Over all total rip off meal was worth a third of what we ended up paying. Dont believe the hype the view is the only thing spectacular here.

Can’t say I’m a regular here but to try something new and adventurous we sat down the first time to celebrate my grandmother visiting From Korea. The view was lovely and we came during the beautiful sunset, despite it being late for the sunset special the server still offered us the 3-course special. The service was wonderful. I had the clam chowder and it was so rich and delicious I was amazed. My brother also had the Thai calamari and that was easily the best thin we had in the evening. The chicken entrees was delicious and the pasta as well. We had so much food we didn’t even have room for dessert and had the carrot cake to go. My siblings and I very rarely go out to eat in this area but we’ll definitely be back! It was such a warm atmosphere and the service and food brightened our evening immensely. What well-trained and polite staff!

I absolutely loved the quaint two floor yesterday. My family and I went for Saturday brunch. We ate on the 2nd floor because there was a baby shower on the first. The view of the ocean is beautiful from the second floor and it was a lovely experience to walk along the shore after a wonderful brunch. Bathroom is clean with closet like doors for each toilet. Truly recommend!

Had a wonderful lunch; lobster roll, toast and hummus, and a small salad. It was nice to sit at he bar, watch the US Open, and stare out across the harbor.
