The Dam Liquor Store

Tiny little place but they have a great selection. The shelves are full including an entire selection of mini bottles and smaller sizes behind the counter! Service was good as well.

What’s there not to like about the Dam Liquor Store?
It has new paint in a festive «Galveston» tribute scheme. Everything from «Party Time» to friendly Watermelon Man at the front door. (I swear that looks like it used to be a taco)… And of course the marijuana pipe tokin’ artist crab… (They say it’s not a pot pipe, so musical notes were added, ahem)…
Photos are from May 15^th 2009 and as you can see, they have not yet finished the Dam marqee. The artist is still working on it.
When I got caught taking photos inside, the friendly lady didn’t bat an eye before asking «Hey what’s with the camera?» While I never admitted it was for a Unilocal review, she gave me a full tour of the building outside so I could get some better photos, gave me some Dam matches, two damn shotglasses and a Dam lighter.
I noticed that they didn’t sell any water and asked what people do about a Dam hangover. She didn’t know, but said she doesn’t deal with the drunks often, she’s a Sunday School teacher that takes care of 3^rd and 4^th graders. Very nice lady.
Exceptionally clean store that has been here for a long time. Serves all your Dam drinkin’ needs with a smile.
(Contrary to popular belief, there is no Dam Beer Joint)… :)
