Monches Farm

Monces Farm is both a very large nursery, a farm (of sorts) and a lovely place just to visit to get away from the city. You needn’t be a horticulturist or even a gardener to enjoy the beauty and serenity of this place. They have large fields of various plants for those that want an assortment of plant choices.
Over the years, we have stopped in at Monches Farm to shop their perennials and annuals, different times of the season. Other times, while taking recreational day trips/​drives, we have stopped in at Monches to take advantage of the park-​like setting and enjoy the free-​roaming and beautiful various breeds of chickens on the property (see my pix). There are benches in the chicken coop/​barn area to sit, watch and enjoy the peace and quiet; a real get-​away for us.
Cheryl loves to explore the gift shop here, too, which carries unique garden related gifts items. Inside and outside the shop, there is always an array of different pots, garden containers, bird baths and various types of water fountains and displays.
Gardener or not, I encourage everyone who needs an hour or so of peaceful get-​away time to check out Monches Farm.

We were back again on Sunday for more plants. They are so great, helpful, friendly, and we purchased 10 periannuals for about $ 110. That’s not bad at all! The selection is just insane!

One of my favorite places to shop has become way overpriced. Once you get past the magic when you first walk in and start really looking at the merchandise, I realized much of it looked like it came from China. So sad.
I purchased many plants over the summer and all were beautiful and very healthy.
Now if you can just get those prices down!

Total bliss, insane selection of plants with a beyond friendly and knowledgeable staff and a gorgeous gift shop on site to boot. Too bad I’m only on vacation and can’t bring all sorts of great flowers and plants back on the plane with me. This place is worth every moment and penny you may spend there. It’s truly a treasure.
