We ate a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon while driving through Vega State Park in August. What a great restaurant hidden away up on the mesa. I was not surprised there were only two other tables with customers dining at 2:30 in the afternoon, but I’m sure they are much busier at normal times or over the weekend. The view overlooking Vega Reservoir while having lunch was wonderful. The interior was of light white wood as if you were inside a rustic log cabin. Advertisements for a local wine decorated the wall. The bar is beautifully crafted out of large timbers and I’m sure in the winter they have wonderful fires in their large fire place. I ordered the special French Dip sandwich and a bowl of Italian Wedding soup. My fiancée ordered the Chicken Caesar salad. Our food was just fine and our service was excellent. The entire menu was familiar of local home cooking. I posted a few pictures to take a look at.
