The food is edible, so there’s that. In reality, there are a cluster of significantly better options directly surrounding Panda that make eating at this place for dinner a terrible decision. Many people proclaim how cheap it is, but it’s really not that cheap. I almost always ended up spending more than $ 10 a visit. The inside of the restaurant is filthy, and the service is rude. Although considering how often they deal with drunk college students, I might overlook the rudeness. Panda has only two thing going for it that make it 2 stars over 1. First, they’re open late. Like real late. Like sun is about to come up late. Second, they deliver. So at 3:00 am on a Sunday morning, Panda is an option.

I’ve given it a couple of tries since moving up here and I’m not impressed. The woman at the front counter has the geniality of a mule with hemorrhoids and I don’t care for rigid pieces of charcoal in my bourbon chicken.

Panda is great when you’ve forgotten how to walk and are stumbling around College Park with drunk munchies. It’s only when you’ve woken up the next day that you realize you’ve spent too much money for passable Chinese food and the leftovers are sprawled out all over the floor of your refrigerator. Panda used to be better, but their customer service took a very sharp downhill turn a little over a year ago. For some reason they stopped caring about any customer in the store any time they are getting calls for orders. So literally you could be ordering, and when someone calls she just will leave the counter and take call after call, simply forgetting you exist. This has happened more times than I can count. On Fridays and Saturdays this is especially terrible because of how many people call in orders. The food really isn’t bad. I always get the sesame chicken with white rice and broccoli. But after further culinary research my friends and I have discovered that Shanghai Café which is right down the street is far better and for cheaper prices. You’re going to get a good sized portion, but it’s too pricey, the customer service sucks miserably, and it simply isn’t as good as Shanghai. Save your money and walk one more minute; that is if you can safely cross the street without getting nailed by a car.

Hmm, okay, well the food wasn’t great, thats for sure. I ordered the general tofu combo & a reallly cheap«homemade lemonade»(ha). Tofu was chewy-er than any tofu I’ve ever had, any didn’t have flavor. Rice was rice, not sticky or particularly frsh tasting. Spring roll was the best part(as greasy as it was). The«homemade» lemonade was some generic cool-aid-like brand, it was extremely sweet & not refreshing at all. Yuck. So, why 2 stars at all? Well, I don’t know, I guess I just don’t like being mean, but this was THE worst chinese food I’ve ever ordered. I don’t know if the meat dishes are better, but the tofu was horrible. Plus there were only two broccoli in the whole thing & one of them was uncooked AND tasted really weird. Never trying this spot again. If you’re hungry — it will put food in your stomach, but if you have another option — go for that one.

Another Americanized Chinese restaurant in College Park. The food quality has gone down. I guess it’s okay if you’re a student because its location is convenient, and they are open late. The portion is decent, but the food is bland and you’re probably not going to finish it all. Heck, Panda Express on Campus is better than this. Don’t bother going if you’re just visiting CP because you will be surely disappointed.

their food is absolutely mediocre– i’m sure you’ve had better, but why they receive 4 stars is because they’re fast, courteous, and consistent. for some reason, that’s really difficult for other restaurants in the area to get it right. i’ve been at college park for 3 years and i barely order out, but i find myself coming back to panda over and over again. and as aforementioned, they’re cheap! the only place within the area that i’m more dedicated to is plato’s, but they don’t deliver. if you don’t want to give step by step instructions to a driver who barely knows the campus and walk halfway out to meet them for your cold food, call panda.

Panda’s food is mediocre at best and the restaurant itself is pretty gross, but its awesome after a hard night partying! Did I also mention that it is cheap? However, it’s only good when after a few brews. I came here once with my friend and ordered General Tso’s chicken(my fav) and a lemonade. The chicken was fine(for Panda anyway), but the lemonade… was not, by any means drinkable. It looked like a cleaning solution and smelled like dirty feet. I can’t tell you how it tasted, because I’m not crazy enough to try something that looks and smells bad. Also the floor is kinda nasty… just saying. Overall, Panda is only good when you are either too drunk notice or tired to care about how subpar both the food and venue is, but it is filling!

Panda can be very hit-or-miss. VERY. When it hits, I would give it 2 stars. When it misses, negative one stars. I came here once with my roommate and got chicken and broccoli, and she got beef and broccoli. I don’t know what they gave us, but it wasn’t meat. It was absolutely disgusting. I don’t even know how to describe it. We had both just spent like $ 8 and wanted a refund. I had the chicken once before and it was edible, unlike the chicken in the experience above, but I’ve still had better chicken at McDonalds. The vegetarian dishes I’ve gotten around two bad, but then again, to their discredit, it’s hard to screw up vegetables. Try Seven Seas instead. Seriously, this place is gross.

Panda has decent food for a pretty decent price. $ 5 for a late night meal, and it’s not too bad. Definitely not good chinese food, but definitely not bad either. Shanghai has better food in my opinion, but I prefer Panda.

Ewwww. This place sucked. I am new to Riverdale and went looking for a good Chinese food spot. I saw Panda so I figured I would give it a shot. When I entered, the 2 behind the counter bragged that they had the best Chinese foof in the area. They couldn’t have been more wrong. My friend and I ordered the Curry Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Gen Tso’s Shrimp The Curry Chicken was bland and consisted of 80% onions, 10% carrots, 5% water chestnuts, and 5% chicken. The shrimp friend rice was dry and overcooked. The GT Shrimp ws horrible. It seemed like precooked shrimp in a corndog-like batter. I will never ever eat here again.

Great after a night on on the town. And by town, I mean the bars on Route 1. You’ll see college kids hobbling over from(Thirsty) Turtle and sometimes, a line will form outside for the $ 5 late night special. It’s a pretty good deal with a styrofoam(bad!) container filled with rice, fried rice, or lo mein, along with 2 entrees. I usually get a double order of the orange chicken and white rice and split it with someone. If you’re looking for«real» Chinese food, then this is not the place to go(try Seven Seas down on Route 1 towards the Ikea). However, their orange chicken is pretty good. Also, their bubble tea is way too sweet — go to Ten Ren’s down the block for that. P. S. You might feel like a panda after you eat here. No joke.

Average Chinese. For late night they have really bad cheap food $ 5 per container. It looks like re-heated leftovers from the day that they are trying to get rid of. If you want decent Chinese go somewhere else.

PANDACOMA. The food quality is mediocre at best, but the food is CHEAP, and FILLING. You get very fat though from eating the fat stick of a egg roll and the fried fat pieces hanging off the general tso’s with Fried Rice. BUTIT’S SOGOOD. Also, if you see the Panda delivery guy(the guy that slightly resembles William Hung), just say«HEYPANDAMAN!!! FOODHEEYAH!» He’ll understand.

Panda is cheap and Panda is dirty and drafty, but Panda is also delicious and offers a lot of their dishes with tofu instead of meat. My only qualm is that they use styrofoam for everything, so we usually order large helpings that come in reusable takeout containers.

Definitely read Su K.‘s review. I second everything he says. Yup, credit card accepted with a $ 7 charge. Su forgot to mention that they have a frequent eater coupon. If you get 10 meals they will give you a meal free. The $ 7 combos also come with a fountain drink. That’s a dingin’ good deal if you ask me. I used to go to Panda’s all the time with my friend Judy L. We would order a $ 7 combo meal and split the order. It was enough for the both of us because the box was, like Scarlet Johanssen, nicely filled out. Wanna know something funny? They use diluted dish washing detergent for hand soap. See for yourself. They even dispense the soap in the bathrooms out of dish detergent bottles. This place like most Chinese carry-outs always smells of oil and fried goods. Love the fountain sodas. Like cheap gas you have to keep fillin’ up except here it comes with the combo and doesn’t cost you anything extra. BTW, the Hot n Sour Soup sucks. It’s a no go.

Three stars for the memories. Once upon a time, in the winter of 2003, a huge blizzard hit the east coast.(As blizzards often do), All the lonely freshmen on campus were stranded in their dorms, feet of snow outside, with dining halls closed. Enter Pandas. a long standing staple for late night, Americanized Chinese take out. But the really fantastic thing for a freshman living all the way up on north campus, is that they deliver. Pretty speedily too, I mean, for a dinky little restaurant. On one blustery night of said blizzard, we decided to order Pandas. We call them up, and sure enough they are open. And willing to deliver, with a $ 20 minimum. Not unreasonable, considering the roads were still mostly covered in wintery mix goodness(I think only people from the East understand what the hell«wintery mix» means!) So, along with 3 or 4 other people on my floor, we pool a massive Pandas order, and 20 minutes later are reveling in greasy, fake Chinese food bliss. Ellicott Freshies — 1 Blizzard — 0 Huzzah.

If you don’t have income and/or it’s not disposable, Panda is AWESOME!!! Even though I’ve been out of college for a while, I’ll still go back here from time to time to pay homage to my old friend, the Good General, his royal fatness, General Tso. Their $ 7 combo specials are great — entrée, fried/white rice, and egg roll(pork) or spring roll(veggie). In the late evenings, they have a Panda Express-esque 2 item combo w/rice/lo mein for $ 5. For you health conscious folks, ummm, what are you doing at a Chinese carry-out? But if you insist, they will cook your food with no oil, which I must add means no added oil because their woks are lined with grease from the early part of this millennium. Warning — I tried the soft serv once and it was GROSS! I tried their bubble tea twice and like a wannabe jock after an intramural game, it had soggy balls. Also, they do have a minimum for credit cards(i want to say $ 7). I give this place 3 stars for the cheap, decent food and a bonus star for all the good times I’ve had there. Not to mention the Good General’s willingness to help poor, misguided freshmen find their freshmen 15.

Panda = Not authentic Chinese food. Very Americanized. The plus about this location is it’s open late into the night. The food is so-so.
