We ordered food and paid online, but they tried to make us pay again when we came to pick up our food in-store, insisting rudely that we hadn’t paid even after explaining repeatedly that we paid online. We used to frequent Wasabi all the time, but poor service and problems like this are making us visit less and less. There are plenty of good sushi places in CP, take your money where they’ll appreciate your business.

We just ordered the Philly Roll and the ultimate tuna at 2020 and the delivery was at our door by 2035… fast delivery and the sushi rolls where great. The portions are generous and fresh. I don’t know why people would complain about Wasabi Bistro’s Sushi. I’ve paid $ 5 per/piece at fancy upscale places and I don’t get the hoopla? This sushi was just as good and 1⁄10th the cost. Sure the presentation wasn’t there, but it’s delivery people… RELAX! College Park prices and delivery kicks butt!!!

I’ve tried several chef’s special rolls and maki rolls; all were delicious and fresh. I’ve also tried the chicken teriyaki and pork gyoza. My orders were all delivery and everything arrived hot or cold(whichever it was supposed to be) and ready to enjoy. Special requests on the sushi rolls have always been honored and right when the food arrived. Overall, a good delivery option for sushi and japanese cuisine.

I am in love with Wasabi’s bubble teas! I ordered the mango smoothie bubble tea, original mango bubble tea both with regular bubbles. Today I got a little fancy and ordered the a mango/avocado smoothie with mango bubbles and it was all delicious!!! I loved the numerous flavored bubble options offered as they added an additional special treat of flavor.

I came here recently because I had heard that their mango smoothie bubble tea was terrific. That being said, if I could only get bubble tea from one place in College Park for the rest of my life I would definitely go here. The bubble tea was extremely fresh. I am sure I even saw them put real mango in the machine. Their menu in terms of ingredients looks very interesting. Which makes me want to come back just to try everything out. As a side note, their sushi, which I also got to try when I ordered a maki combo was a little smaller than I anticipated. Not sure if it was a one time thing, but I found the pieces to be a little small. As far as service goes, it is strictly kept behind a counter. The woman working at the register was nice, which helps when you are a little lost on what to order. If you order to eat at the place they will call your food when it’s ready and you can grab it, along with utensils, yourself. I found the place to be on the dirty side. Both times I came into the restaurant, once for to-go and once to eat for here there were flies. Not really what anyone wants to see. The place has a nice view and cute chairs, but I would really like to see the place more welcoming of people to sit in.

Stick to the smoothies here(strawberry, mango, kiwi, etc…)! Very fresh and filling, not too sweet, pulsed to a good consistency w/o too much ice. Bubbles are subpar — sometimes they’ll be mushy and/or hard(but that’s also just a result of being added to the cold smoothie), and usually they’ll taste kinda bland — not sweetened with sugar or honey like good bubbles should be. As for food, you’ll get decent quality + bang for your buck with their maki combo(3 normal rolls). Whenever my bf and I go here, we usually get the spicy tuna, the Alaska(salmon, avocado, cucumber), and the yellowtail, and it’s definitely enough to fill you up. Not a huge fan of any of their other food though(i.e. bento box, sushi pizza) — either unseasoned or just too much rice. Seating is limited and there’s not much décor/ambiance to speak of, but it’ll do!

I would always order from this place when I went to UMD, especially if I was too busy studying for exams to leave my dorm. Their delivery service is always pretty quick which is a big plus. The actual restaurant itself however has limited seating and doesn’t really have a nice sit down ambience. I would usually get their maki combo box for delivery which is a pretty good deal, especially if you and friends order multiple boxes and split. My favorite specialty roll is their mango one, but I have to admit that the sushi quality here is nothing special. I do however really like their bubble tea here. It tastes fresh and not as overly sweet as Ten Ren’s bubble tea across the street. Their overall texture and flavoring is more refreshing and appetizing to me.

This place was awful i got their«sushi pizza», it was so different from the pictures on the walls. And all their sushi smells !!! I think their fish might be really old or they froze it and defrost it or something. I did’t like the service. Very rude. – but if you want bubble tea, its good.(I guess), they use really fruits to make them so it taste better. Recommend: Avocado Bubble tea

The sushi was okay. The presentation was nice and the food was ready a lot quicker than I thought… about 5 minutes. Like I said, the sushi was okay but we ordered them with tempura instead of the raw seafood which probably took away from the taste. The Shumai wasn’t worth a second order but the mango smoothie with bubbles was great! Lastly, this place gets mighty expensive quick concerning its mediocre taste, therefor I’d look for a cheaper option if I were a college student.

Something has changed. Last time ordered, spent nearly $ 90 and we were horribly disappointed. First they got rid of the«Wasabi Boxes» with the noodles and fried rice. Those were pretty much the only thing we ordered. Food was pretty meh, and we weren’t impressed with it as usual. Now that we have more delivery options I don’t think we’ll be ordering from here very often. T’was good while it lasted.

This Wasabi is easily the worst of any of the Wasabis that I have been to. I ordered two bubble teas and an order of edamame. The employee on the phone did not tell me that there was a wait time and said that my food would be there«soon». I waited outside in the freezing rain for more than ANHOURAND A HALF for my food. I called the restaurant four times asking where my food was and each time the woman said that the food was on the way and would be there«soon». After an hour, I called and asked where the food was. They hung up on me. I called again and said that I expected the order to be on the house because of the terrible customer service, and that I should not have to pay for it. The woman said«okay». The food arrived almost twenty minutes later and when I told the delivery man that I expected the food to be on the house, like I had discussed over the phone, he said«no» and called his manager. He told the manager about the situation, and that customers deserve to «get what they asked for». In response, the manager said to take the food away if I wasn’t going to pay for it. I told the delivery man that I would write a review and with his back turned for me, shouted«WHATEVER» and walked away. I have never been so displeased. Do not eat here if you expect customer service. Do not order food over the phone if you expect truthful phone calls. Do not request delivery if you expect the delivery people to be kind and considerate. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Order from Ivy Noodles in College Park instead. They serve better food and readily compensate if the order is incorrect or takes too long.

Very upsetting. I ordered for pick up and the sushi didn’t look appetizing at all then when I opened to eat it it was cold honestly it looked old. Now, it had cooked eel and shrimp in it and seeing as it was prepared when I ordered it(I hope), I showed up 15mins later(the allotted time) and to get this quality of food is just unacceptable. Dont stay open after hours if you arent willing to give the same quality throughout the day and if this is the regular then I dont advise anyone to eat there.

I love the food and the it is a very nice place I just think it is a little expensive The attendant was nice but they don’t take the food to you or clean your table after, you have to do everything I felt no so nice because the food is not cheap But I recommend and the special salmon was the best in my opinion you gotta try it!

While I enjoy my orders from Wasabi, I wish they treated their loyal customers a little better. Some customer appreciation would be nice, such as some kind of stamp card or discount if you order from there frequently. You have to order over $ 35 dollars to get just one discount. While my craving for sushi was strong, I also continued to order from Wasabi because I was hoping to rack up some loyalty points. However, I have not received any loyalty benefits and have decided to hold off on my sushi cravings and not order from them because it takes a toll on my bank account. I know some friends who have also expressed this same concern, how Wasabi is expensive. I would agree with the review by Sadie that they do not have very good customer service, even to the ones who give them regular business. Help the college students out a little bit, and then maybe I will return! For now, I will be ordering from Kiyoko. They offer more discount special options. For instance, they have a 3-roll maki combo and 2-roll maki combo offered throughout the whole day. Wasabi only offers the 2-roll maki combo during lunch. Kiyoko will now be the way I satisfy my sushi craving and save money.

I like wasabi bistro, I really do… The staff seems friendly enough, the sushi is really good, they deliver… The only(until very recently) place to get sushi delivered from in my area! But that’s the thing, maybe if there were more competition in the College Park area for Asian cuisine delivery(NOT A CARRYOUT), there would be more care put into the service. My points of concern are as follows: When ordering sushi for delivery takes over an hour, and I’m not even a 10 minute drive from the restaurant. Sushi gets here warm, which means it’s made and it sits around waiting for other orders to come in to consolidate the delivery.(Tip for wasabi: if you’re gonna wait till other orders come in, wait to make the sushi, or if you’re too lazy for that, make it and put it in the fridge. Have your driver deliver cold foods first. Get it together) They do not separate hot food from sushi, so when you get your food, you have hot sushi! YUCK! Make sure if you are ordering something hot that you specify that you want it separately bagged, even though they sometimes still keep it together. Wasabi bistro has some great hours of service listed on the to go menu, I believe it’s 12am during the week and 3am on the weekends– don’t expect to be able to place an order after 9:45 pm! They close when they want and DONOT stick to their advertised hours. So other than the hours, my only complaints are about delivery. I recommend this place ONLY for dining in.

I have ordered from this restaurant several times because they are 5 minutes from my house and the food was good the first time I tried it. i used to order every week on saturdays, then i stopped. the last couple of times I have ordered, the quality of the sushi has diminished significantly. I usually like the tempura chicken rolls. the last two times I have ordered, the meat has been very hard, underseasoned and the rolls were cut so unevenly that when i tried to pick some up with my chopsticks they fell apart. I am talking about one roll being 3″ thick and another being cut ½″ thin. the accompanying salad had rotted/brown pieces of lettuce in it. i gave them one star because of the laziness exhibited in the last couple of times i have ordered food here. previously, i haven’t had bad experiences with them. i still love their smoothies. i hope that whatever the internal problem is, that it can be remedied soon. for now i am ordering from another sushi restaurant down the street.

This update is in response to their delivery practices. I still think their food is great and reasonably priced. My frustration, however, comes with my experience using them through Grubhub recently and the lack of customer service I got when they delivered. Whoever the delivery person was called me and said«I’m 2 minutes away, can you just come out to the parking lot and meet me?» *record scratch* What? You’re not even going to bother getting out of your car to walk my food the 30 or so steps from the parking lot to my door … like everyone else who delivers here has done, including someone else from Wasabi Bistro?! If I wanted to have to leave my home, I would have just gotten carryout. I know that’s super lazy or some, but delivery generally means getting out, bringing it to the door and knocking. Perhaps I would have been less frustrated if I wasn’t fighting off a sinus infection and could see straight. Maybe I wouldn’t have been so angry if I hadn’t already tipped through Grubhub. Either way, I was peeved that this person already had their tip and took advantage of that to provide lackluster customer service. We had such a great thing going, but I’m a bit wary now. I really hope this isn’t the owner/manager’s idea of good customer service.

My friend and I ordered a lunch box– 4 piece nigiri with california roll. The salmon didn’t seem fresh and there was way too much rice with the sushi. Mall sushi is made better. I also had the Taro smoothie with bubbles. That was good, but the tapioca balls did not seem to be done all the way.

While in school, I spent so much money/time in this place they knew me by name and hugged me when I graduated. That being said, it’s consistently good sushi. I always get a special roll(Mango Tree or the one right below it on the menu) along with a bubble tea(smoothie or regular are both good. Btw, you can mix the smoothie flavors!) and a miso soup. It was perfect. The only down side is that there isn’t a lot of seating. It’s a bit communal. They’re quick, reasonably priced and friendly all the time. Definitely go here!
