Best bike shop in town! The staff here is always pleasant and friendly. They have always been helpful, even if i wasn’t looking to buy that day. They are there for more than just sales and they seem to genuinely enjoy educating their customers.

I purchased a bike a few days ago. I should have ran out of the store when the owner charged me 10 bucks to put an over priced rack on the expensive bike I was purchasing. He tried to say the coupon I used was not valid because I was buying a 2011 model. Ignoring my gut I purchased the bike and picked it up the next day. As I was riding I kept hearing a clicking sound and strange noises a bike rider doesn’t hear. The chain continuously popped off the gear. The bike was obviously ridden many times before I purchased it. I kept finding new scuff marks and nicks in the paint, all over the rims and frame. Later while riding the bike would not change gears. And the chain kept popping off. After looking up the price of the bike online and then the model I was shocked. I well over paid and the gears on my model did not match the stock gears. In other words the owner or one of the mechanics who work there road the bike for a few years or it was a trade in. They tried to repair it with what they had in the store instead of ordering new stock items. When I went back to the store to address the problem he called me numerous derogatory names despite my calm tone. He said I have lifetime repair included and he would tune the bike up and have it to me in a few days. Seriously? For the amount I paid $,$$$ I shouldn’t need repairs four days into ownership. I promptly asked for a refund. He said he didn’t need People like me in his shop anyhow. You figure out what he meant! He then proceeded to charge my card for the bike again instead of returning it. He argued with me until I called my bank and they confirmed the second charge. I now have to wait for the money to be refunded on my card while he cheats his was to profit. I warn Aggieland… think twice before doing bussiness with this man.

I brought in a bike which had a flat rear tire. The clerk said he will look into it and also check other things which needed repairing. I came by on another day and the clerk said that besides changing the rear tire, it also needed a new tube. Not only that, he said that the front tire was also about to break and suggested that I changed the chain and the free wheel(the part where the chain sits on). I decided just to replace the rear tire and paid $ 50 for it tax included. A week later, I sensed that a tire had popped while I was riding the bike. I expected the front tire to give out but ironically, it was the rear tire which had popped. I brought it back into the shop and confronted the clerk I talked to previously. After some checks on the bike he said that the wheel was abrasive/rough and the new tire couldn’t handle the wheel rubbing on it. Why didn’t he tell me before I burnt my $ 50 on a repair that lasted only 1 week? When I brought the bike in, I specifically asked him to check for any other possible repairs and he did, but he didn’t bring up anything about the wheel being abrasive! I asked if he could possibly give me a discount to fully repair the rear tire but he suggested that I scrapped my bike and bought a new one. In summary, I wish he had told me beforehand that the wheel needed changing or at least warned me about it. I wasted $ 50 for a flat tire.

I had some hang-ups during a DIY repair project, so I called BCS to ask some questions. Their mechanic was attentive and was as determined as I was to solve my issue. I decided to take the bike in to get a better crack at it, and I was promptly helped by one of the sales associates who knew his stuff. They took the time to walk me through the repair, ask my name and make me feel like a boss after all the hang-ups. They never even hinted at service charges, nor did they expect me to buy a product(though I chose to because they had good prices on lights). If you want fast and friendly customer service, this shop is the place to visit.

I took my bike up today to get a minor tune-up, and due to it being the beginning of the semester, they were swamped. I told them I’d like to have it by the following Wednesday morning, and they promised to do their best

Very friendly and knowledgable staff. They have tons of bikes to choose from too. I love my new Jamis Nemesis! I felt like they didn’t try to sell me more bike than I needed which didn’t happen with the other stores I shopped at.

BCS Bicycles is my favorite bike store in the Bryan/College Station area. Other bike stores tend to be more expensive and have a snarky attitude if you’re a new rider. As a college student I cannot afford to pay people to fix my bike and usually fix my bike myself. The guys at BCS were very helpful when I went in. They not only helped me find the exact part I needed, they also explained to me how I could fix the bike myself. Everyone was really nice and I will definitely go back to them for help!

It will be re-located within a year. I enjoy talking with the associates, they’re all college students who are passionate about bikes and are quick to lend a hand to help you out.

Looking for a bike tune up AND the world’s worst customer service ever? BCS Bicycles is the place for you. I had bought a bike that had been upgraded with all new parts in for them to tighten the brakes(since the rear ones weren’t working) and whatever tune ups so that everything would be running great. What should have been an hour or two bicycle tune up turned out to be not only a big mistake but also a huge waste of money. I paid these guys $ 65 for them to take my bike in and not do anything at all to it the first day except break off a spoke to a $ 150 wheel and then give me excuses. After it was determined they couldn’t replace the spoke, the best deal they could give me is letting me pay to replace the wheel that they broke with a cheap $ 45 replacement. I could easily get over this if it hadn’t taken them 4 days with my bike only so that I could come in 30 minutes before they closed(because I assumed the work would be finished) and stand there for another 50 minutes as they FINALLY started AND finished work on it. But at least I got my tune up done eventually, right? Wrong. After the 50 minutes of standing in the lobby watching the guy do the work he should have been done with days earlier, I get on my bike to find that the brakes and gears were just as loose as they were before. I was given the excuse that he’d need to replace the cable and that it’d be another $ 7.50. Now I’m standing outside of BCS Bikes, 45 minutes after they’ve closed, after inconveniently spending 4 days without my bike, for the associate to tell me that they didn’t even fix what I originally brought it in for. I paid them the $ 65 that they absolutely did not deserve and got out of there as fast as I could. There’s a reason why the Texas A&M Cycling Team if affiliated with and sponsored by Aggieland Cycling — they most likely have mastered the basics of bicycle tune ups and actually giving customers the service that they pay for. Needless to say, I won’t ever return here for business and would suggest other people do the same and not throw their money away.

Very helpful. I have used BCS bicycles as my bicycle store for as long as I have lived here(30+ years).

The guy working here sold me a bike stem(after looking at my old bike stem) that didn’t fit my old seat, and this was a $ 22 stem. Boo. Also, I got the feeling that the place wasn’t clean: there were ragged dog toys strewn around the floor, and an open box of Milk-Bones were on the counter.

So I had heard of some snarkyness coming out of some other bike shops in CS, and this place was highly recommended by friends. I was in serious need of a velocipede so I walked over and the owners were all super nice. They are all about friggin’ bikes and they make that really obvious. The owner chatted me up and pretty much told me about how super cool he is. Some guy walked in with some hardcore bike shorts(so you know he’s serious) and asked for some parts, to which the owner responded, «For sure, check out that box of parts, and if you can find it in there, just take it, free of charge.» What? Yeah, that’s the kind of niceness I’m talking about. Anyway, this place has some legit bikes at really good prices and there is zero snarkiness coming out of some people who are legitimately passionate about what they do. Extra-recommended.

This was a terrible experience for me and my husband. Me by default. Though we live in Austin, the bike we wanted was hard to find and BCS seemed to be one of, if not the only bike shop to carry it. Excited, my husband drove all the way to College Station to pick it up. BCS did a few small modifications to the bike before my husband left and come to find out, noticed a small tear in one tire but decided to sell the bike without mentioning it. Needless to say, the bike had a flat the very first time it was ridden. We had to have both tires changed out(the originals were special white tires). Of course we had to pay for the tires and the labor since we took it to a local bike shop for the repair instead of driving all the way back to College Station. And what’s the point of having a bike if you can’t ride it. We thought the owner of BCS would be cooperative especially after the guy working there admitted that he sold it knowing there was a defect. Not so! He suggested that we drive to College Station again or ship the tire to him for them to try and mend it. Then he went on to make it seem as though he did my husband a favor by not charging labor for the small amount of mods done to the bike. Note — this was on a brand new bike. I sincerely urge you to walk away if you’re thinking of buying from this place. They definitely don’t seem to care much about their customers.

Excellent bike store, I was able to find new tires for my Mountain bike. In fact the store smells like bike tires. If that is what you are looking for you are in the right place. What concerns me is that you will see by my photos, they have taken down the sign which makes it appear as if they are closing.
