Growing up in College Station, it was a tradition for my mom, sister, and myself to get a smoothie from Taste of the Tropics every time we went to the mall. Living in Fort Worth I get cravings for the strawberry/pineapple. I can’t find or make one that compares! I need a recipe or a location to be opened out here ASAP!

I finally got to try this place! The lady behind the counter was much more friendly and welcoming that the lady at the adjacent restaurant that was my primary destination. The drink was nice but overly sweet to my taste, and I’ve never gotten that impression from any fresh-fruit smoothies. Do they add some syrup? I don’t know… Unfortunately, the area where they prepared the drink was obstructed from the view. And I don’t understand why that area is not well visible from the place where you order, — seeing the food(and drinks) as they are prepared is a great trend!

So good, so fast, so delicious, love u k thx. I hate it that this place is in the mall, and makes me have to go through that crowd to get it. But it’s almost like a treasure hunt that you land up on an island and you have to fight your way through zombies, pirates, and hunters so you can achieve the ultimate victory. Once you find the secret cave of the Tropics you enter upon banana leaves and friendly staff members waiting to serve you ancient old secrets, and fruit recipes passed down through generations. Then you say MANGOPINACOLADABLUEBERRYLARGE and it’s the most amazing, tropical, inviting drink you have ever had in your life. This place rocks.

Real fruit and tons of flavorful options. I sincerely enjoyed the Strawberry Lemonade. Post Oak Mall does not have too many options or much to offer. This smoothie joint is a gem in a mine shaft.

Can’t go wrong! My favs are the orange, piña colada, strawberry lemonade, or strawberry lime! No one I’ve ever met that lives in College Station doesn’t like Taste of the Tropics!

Totally agree with Jared C. Taste of the Tropics is a gem in the Post Oak Mall’s newly remodeled Food Court. It’s been open since the 1980’s and is an original non-chain locally owned stop for fresh made smoothies using real fruit. And now the Post Oak Mall has a new non-chain local New American Burger stop right next door called Flip and Peel. These two places and the fact that the Food Court is now modern, attractive and comfortable, do make the mall a great place to go for food.
