We rented from AMFRV rentals for a Penn State tailgate. The price was right so I went with them over other higher priced companies. The man who runs the place was nice enough when we first met and he proceeded to give me an introduction on how to operate the RV. Based on his overview of the camper I felt we were prepared to have a great time. …Well I was wrong and we had a nightmare of an experience. The levelers used for when you are on uneven ground didn’t work, therefore the slide out function wouldn’t work.(Owners response«Why would you need to use the levelers?») We ran below a ¼ gas and therefore the generator didn’t work(I was never made aware in our RV tutorial of the requirement to have more than ¼ gas). We called the owner to ask why the generator wasn’t working and he said«Why would you use the generator?»(Seriously that was his help!!?). The Penn state parking people wouldn’t let us leave to get gas so we were stuck there until we left for good. So because we didn’t have a generator, we didn’t have a fridge, heat, lights, music, water pump for the toilet, etc. Nights were dark and freezing and not the most enjoyable. We made due and enjoyed our time. Upon returning the RV, my wife and I politely tried to talk the owner to explain that we felt we weren’t able to comfortably enjoy our time and we were a little upset that he never fully explained how to use the RV. We told him that we were planning on going again next year and that we would go with his company if was able to give us some kind of deal. His angry, condescending and combative responses to our issues left us no where to go other than tell him we weren’t going to ever do business with him again and that we would do everything possible to let everyone know to avoid AMF as well. I thought we approached the situation rationally and without any emotion. I truly believed that based on our feedback the owner would at least have been empathetic but he blamed us for not knowing and wouldn’t cut us any kind of break. The man didn’t give me a full overview of vehicle and didn’t provide any manual or FAQ tips/list, but somehow I should have known how/why something works. But really, all he had to do was reciprocated the respect we showed him and I wouldn’t be writing this review. Angry bitter old man who took no responsibility
