Main Line Health Center in Collegeville

I’ve been going here ever since they opened up a few years back. I was excited about an office that provided some level of «one stop shopping». I could visit my family doctor, get blood work done, have x-​rays, and see specialists here if needed. Plus, I was not a big fan of the Montgomery health care system. I have to say that I was disappointed after I started coming here primarily because of the doctors in the family practice. I always felt rushed and it seemed like the doctors main concern was how many patients they could see in a day. At one point, I actually left the practice and went elsewhere because I was so unhappy with the doctors. I’m guessing others had similar feelings as there started to be a turnover in the doctors and now none of the original doctors remain except one, and she was good to begin with, but it was next to impossible to get an appointment with her. I’m generally happy with doctor now and I don’t feel rushed anymore and he takes the time to listen to me and explain what’s going on and what options I have for treatment.
Is there room for improvement? Of course there is. While I usually get called back within 5 – 10 minutes of my appointment time, I’m often left sitting in the room waiting for the doctor. It was 30+ minutes after my appointment time before I finally saw the doctor on my last two visits. I certainly don’t want the doctors rushing other patients to keep on schedule, but if you are consistently running late, then maybe don’t schedule appointments so close together. I’ve also had some imaging work done here and have found that the images have been read wrong. I’m not sure who is reading these images or if they are outsourcing it somewhere. But what has happened is my primary ends up sending me to a specialist because of how my images were read only to find out that it was misread. I do wish they had night appointments at least certain weeknights and I do wish they offered Saturday morning hours. Their website says they offer weekend hours, but they not currently offer this. If you are truly sick, they will get you in within 24 hours.
All in all, I’m happier now with the current set of doctors there in the family practice and hopefully they stick around. I haven’t seen any turnover really in the past year or so.
