I always try to stop in when in the area working and I am never disappointed. The buffet is small but the items are really well seasoned and tasty. There are some healthy options which is nice, along with some great comfort food selections. Soups, salad, entrée and desert for less than 7.00, you really can’t go wrong. Four stars for the food and value. I would give ten stars for the service if I could. The owner is always very nice and delivers great service. No matter how long it has been since I was in last, he always remembers me. I suggest you give them a try if you are looking for a quick meal at a great value.

My wife and I decided to stop by when we were in town and wanted to try a different restaurant for a late lunch. We were the only ones in the place so we had very fast service of course. The restaurant was mostly clean with just a few things on the floor leftover from lunch. They have Dr. Pepper so my wife was happy with that. She ordered a chicken sandwich and said it was really good. It was a rather large sandwich and she couldn’t finish it all. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. The burger was fairly good, but very small. I am not a huge eater, but I expected a lot more than I got. The bacon was good, the onion on it was good, but it was just way undersized. Overall, the food and the fries were tasty and of course being the only ones in the restaurant the service was great.

My wife and I decided to give the Café Grille another try after avoiding it for several years after our first dining adventure there wasn’t so good. I can honestly say that things haven’t changed very much. We went on a weekday for lunch and opted for the buffet. Don’t waste your time or money. Everything on the buffet looked like leftovers, the baked chicken was greasy and tasteless, the vegetables were soggy, and the cornbread was hard as a brick. Hoping for better luck with the peach cobbler proved to be another disappointment. Mostly dough with very few peaches it was heavy, bland, and had the texture of uncooked dough. Inside the place was dimly lit and dirty. Framed art on the walls had grease splatters on the glass, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. The 4 star rating prior to mine was a gentleman from California, and his apparent naïveté about real Southern cooking should be discounted. It’s a miracle this place is still in business.

Excellent value for some tasty southern cooking. Comfort food and healthier options. Nothing fancy … Try the baked chicken and the cobbler!
