Oh Pak Mail you probably did not want to mess with me today(or ever)… What a DISASTER you are. So, without going into too much detail, I used to work in some rather high end situations shall we say where margin for error was 0. I do not take to bull**** very well. So, on Friday, I go into this shady establishment and have a document or two notarized for a real estate closing that was to happen today. They knew this. I was stressed and was VERY clear about my timeline/needs. I trust FedEx 100%. As previously mentioned I have worked in some very sensitive situations where no one wanted to hear my excuse — the documents needed to be there and we didn’t care what it cost or anything else. No excuses. So I did and always have used Fed Ex. I told the gal there, KAREN, I was thinking of heading next door to the«real» Fed Ex to have them send it and she PROMISED me they were just as reliable, just like sending from Fed Ex itself. My spidey sense was tingling, but with her assurance I decided, OK, it is Fed Ex, I am sure it will be OK. BIGMISTAKE. They put my documents in the FedEx envelope after notarizing and told me Fed Ex Ground would get them there by today, Monday, no problem. Even though I was paying for Ground it was business to business. She said at the very latest — and assured me this wouldn’t happen — it would get there Tuesday. So at 4 pm, during the closing, my attorney calls me. Where are my documents??? I call KAREN. Oh, the package is sitting there in her little shop. I didn’t get it there in time to go out Friday. Excuse me? You ASSURED me on Friday it would be there Monday and it is Monday at almost 4 pm and it is in your shop? My receipt says I checked out at 3:53 on Friday. What time did it need to be there? 4 pm. Um, 4 pm and 3:53 is too late? You assured me it would be there this morning. It is now 3:33 and it is still in your hands? I called my husband, in tears. He almost lost his mind. He called. The owner tried to tell him that FedEx has no guarantees. They don’t make promises. Well, everyone in Memphis let alone anywhere in the business world knows that is not true. We will be contacting FedEx as I am certain they want to know that they have businesses out there representing them and spreading the word they don’t make guarantees. I am pretty sure this is the reason FedEx is still the most trusted carrier? Guarantees and promises anyone? So I jump in my car at 4:05 and drive over there, have them give me back the documents and walk(literally) next door to the«real» FedEx where they tell me that there is a 6 pm Ground pick up so this 4 pm thing is a lie, at least for the«real» FedEx. They also tell me that I could have had my documents go out until 10 pm. It cost me way more money at this point, because now I absolutely have to have the documents there first thing in the morning, but I don’t care and send them through the trusted FedEx. My husband even talked to the manager/owner, Preston(if that is the true name). Whatever it was, he lied to him and told him FedEx makes no guarantees. He told him he would not make good and ensure the package got there tomorrow, that I would have to come over and pay him more to send it another way. Um, your worker told me it would be there today and it wasn’t so now I am supposed to pay you more and trust your promise that you will get it there tomorrow? Fool me once… Moral of the story: don’t trust the Pak Mail for ANYTHING. Totally dishonest. Pay a couple dollars more in the beginning and get it there.
