I have orderd take out from this place twice. And both times the food ended in the thrash bin. Are these people trained to cook? Their food is horrible. No taste, or wrong taste. Should they be allowed to operate in town? Horrible. Stay away. I went a second time to give them a chance but this food is simply beyond repair. I love chinese food but is this even anything reaembling food. WTF.

When you first step in, you’re almost disappointed by the sight. It’s a small, take-out room with nothing special around; however, the hostess comes out and seats you in the adjacent room. The restaurant wasn’t busy, and the waitress was delightful. If you are extremely hungry, I wouldn’t suggest going there, as the sushi takes quite a while to be made. I did have a deep fried roll, so perhaps that was the cause, but usually every other place has been a little quicker. I digress, the sushi was delicious and I enjoyed the atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this place if you’d like Japanese and are in the area.

The food here is just fine– our go to place for Chinese take out. What is annoying– and it’s a huge pet peeve of mine is the minimum credit card order. I don’t carry much cash– who does? They actually made me order stuff I did not want to meet the minimum. It’s against the rules of the major credit card companies to require a minimum and, in my opinion, it’s just bad business. So, I’ve got a crab Rangoon I don’t need– any takers? Cash only, please.

We have been eating or way down Haddon Ave and continue to have success at most of the resistant restaurants. This little gem is not the most updated place, but it gets out done. I had sushi and the bride had sweet & sour chicken. Both orders were plentiful. The service is nice and the 2 times we’ve been back, it’s not been busy. It’s not a great first date spot but for good Chinese & Japanese food that won’t kill your wallet, it’s worth it.

We went here only for takeout, we were in the mood for some Good Olé’ Americanized Chinese food. The General Tso’s chicken was pretty tasty and nicely fried. The Beef Ho Fun’s beef slices tasted a bit off, just not fresh. Would go here again only because it’s close to my house and is good for the random cravings.

Do not go to Sushi Lin!!! They advertise a cheaper price on their website(the one listed on this Unilocal page) and will then charge you a higher price once you go to pick it up. The owner said this is because they haven’t updated the website in two years because«it cost them hundreds to update it.» He then said that the website will be taken down once their five year contract expires. He then asked me if I have ever eaten here before. I told him that I have dined here maybe 4 or 5 times. He said I should know the prices on his menu then. After I asked how can they advertise something and then not honor it, the owner said that they printed new menus and we should go off that price. Not very helpful when you are ordering online from your house! He only gave me the advertised priced after I said would get my food some place else. I’d like this end this saying I have never written a bad review about a business before but felt compelled to after today. Stay away from Sushi Lin, they are disrespectful and will try to rip you off if you aren’t careful.

Every time I have Sushi Lin, I eat inside their dining area. They bring you out crunchy noodles and duck sauce and refill it as needed, which may be often because it’s delicious. Their sushi is SOGOOD! It is presented on a plate with a tree or a design made out of soy sauce and other sauces-so pretty. My boyfriend is not a seafood fan, but he raves about their general tsos chicken and wonton soup. Super reasonable prices. You will leave full-guaranteed. Great place for date nights or a night out with friends. I highly recommend giving this place a try. It’s usually pretty empty, but don’t let that discourage you.

I can’t speak for the Chinese food, but the sushi is great in the restaurant part of Sushi Lin. The sushi guy is an artist — he draws pretty, edible pictures on the plates with soy sauce, wasabi and other stuff. We always tip him because he makes our food so beautifully every time. If you’re going to sit and eat at Sushi Lin, perhaps on a [very] casual date, do the four special rolls for $ 30(it’s an option at the bottom of the special roll list on the menu). I have had nearly all of the raw special rolls at this point, and I have no complaints. The spicy ones are the best. If you’re not too keen on spicy rolls, get a mild one and ask for some spicy mayo on the side to dip. It’s a flavor I absolutely love. Their green tea isn’t worth getting. Unlike Mikado, it’s not a loose leaf genmaicha; rather, it’s just a bag or two of standard green in a little teapot. No biggie, but not spectacular. I give Sushi Lin four stars because despite the service and the good food, the restaurant part could really use a face lift. The atmosphere isn’t great, which probably turns a lot of people away from eating here. They also have a TV on most of the time, which I think is a mistake.

I know most of life is built around expectations, but I didn’t think ours were to much to ask of Sushi Lin. Those expectations were basically that one of the apparently older American Chinese places in Collingswood knew how to make food taste like something. The other day we got the Roast Pork Ho Fun and Szechuan Style Scallops from here, and it was apparent that while they knew how to put hot sauce on something, the other aspects of cooking remained elusive. We’ve had good Chinese food and bad, but it’s something special when the food you’re putting in your mouth actually tastes like nothing. The Ho Fun, the vegetables(which was at least half bamboo shoots), and even the roast pork, were just bland. We’ve been trying like hell to figure out if any of the places in 8108 know how to make anything above standard suburban-grade Chinese food. I guess we’ll have to keep looking.

the food is good, normal take-out chinese fare. i find the portion size here to be much better for the price than another chinese place down the street. the food is made to order, fresh, not too greasy(for chinese take out) and accessible to most palettes. the one thing that really sets this place apart and gives them 4 stars instead of 3 is the service. they are SO friendly and SO nice. they always answer the phone promptly, they never have a problem understanding me or me them(don’t get me wrong, they definitely have accents, but it’s not overwhelming.) i’ve gone early to pick up my order and when i mentioned that i had my dog waiting in the car, they offered to bring my order out to my car if i wanted to wait with her. and they did it with a smile on their faces, not with a begrudging grunt. that goes a long way in my book. they’ll definitely keep my chinese take out business for as long as they’re around.

Bleh. Sushi Lin, how I hoped you’d be better. I don’t like to write negative reviews but… I ordered schezuan shrimp, and was given what was essentially«sweet and sour» sauce with a few shrimp tossed in. The shrimp seemed fresh, but were ruined by the bright orange, artificially colored, overly sweet sauce. And it was a quart of sauce with almost no veggies — I had no use for a tub of orange sugar after the shrimp were gone. The lo-mein, which I ordered ‘extra spicy’, was barely spicy, and bordered on bland. Bottom line: the price did not match the quality. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll give them a second chance. But I’m not sure I’d venture to try their sushi, when so many other excellent restaurants are close by. Here’s hoping my next review is better!

Portions are small so order extra. They get bonus points for super freshness and having people answer the phone that speak and understand English. They deliver too which is rare these days for sushi places. We just moved to Camden County and are on a quest for something comparable to the mandarin group. These guys are close. They have a variety of rolls but I wish they would give a description on the menu. Finally found a place that has crunchy noodles that are NOT stale! YAY!

so nice there, really nice people and good food. The dumplings were tasty too, if you like dumplings. I’d go again for sure.

Chinese food simply fulfills a basic function for me –fill me up at a decent price. One order of anything other than the apps will usually get me through dinner and lunch the next day. At one time I had myself convinced that Chinese food was healthy but the Today Show’s «Eat this not that» spoiled that notion. Tonight I got pork mei fun and a spring roll. The spring roll was very tiny but good. The fried wrapper stayed nice and crisp even after my half mile walk home. The mei fun could have a little more flavor but is basically alright. I should’ve grabbed a couple of extra packets of stuff to dress it up. The pork in the mei fun was decent quality rather than the gristle and fat some places will try to sneak in your dish. I will definitely get lunch out of my leftovers. I have never tried sushi here. Something about getting sushi from a restaurant that serves take-out Chinese just doesn’t sit right in my mind.

The first thing you will notice when you step in to Sushi Lin is the warm welcome and Lin’s sweet smile. Service is attentive and personable. You can quickly assess that the place is kept very clean. The crab rangoon is the best, totally perfect. Both seaweed salad and avocado salad are just right. Every sushi roll I have ever had here has been delicious, and my partner, who likes Chinese on occasion, is always very happy with his meal. Our very favorite thing is the calamari, which is different from any I had ever had and which Lin says is one of her personal favorite snack foods. Makes a great appetizer. As someone said above, this is not greasy Chinese food but fresh and tasty. And I disagree that it is overpriced — if anything I sometimes feel bad for leaving full and satisfied of excellent food while paying such a small bill! If you are looking for great service, delicious, traditional, fresh sushi and Chinese, and do not want to go down the street for overpriced(and not as yummy) food at Woksabi, this is your place.

Nice place, generic Chinese restaurant interior, clean, decent selection variety on both the Chinese and Japanese sides of the menu. The $ 3 sushi roll specials are great for the price. Very very friendly staff. Good for a basic Chinese lunch or evening sushi run. Wouldn’t go on a special date but a reliable local place.

Sushi Lin is a somewhat typical all-purpose Chinese takeout/sushi-type place. Within that category, it serves its purposes. I have not tried any of the sushi, mostly sticking to the combination platters that you will typically find on the menu at any of these establishments. As far as distinguishing their offerings from other Americanized Chinese food, it falls on the«fresher» side of the spectrum as opposed to «greasier.» The fried rice is somewhat bland but the flavors pop without being sickly sweet or heavy in the other items. The General Tso’s, for example, is all white meat and the sauce is some combination of hoison and chili paste rather than day-glo muck. The egg roll is made up of a high percentage of shredded pork. The spare ribs are nicely tender, with a basic sweet glaze that pairs well with the meat. When I’m after takeout Chinese, I generally opt for Sushi Lin over my previous Haddon Ave. favorite Chow’s. They do a more than adequate job of fulfilling this role.

So with Mikado closed for renovations we decided to give this place a try. The menu was a combination of standard Chinese fare along with Sushi, so hopes were high. Let me save you some time — same price as Mikado, not as good. On to the review. The Sunomono consisted of two small shrimp and two slices of octopus, four slivers of fresh avocado on a bed of iceberg lettuce with a tiny bit of mild dressing. The gyoza were pre-made mass produced and still had marks from the box they were defrosted out of. The sushi, while fresh, was spare for the price, with only two pieces of each type of fish on the Sashimi sampler. The House special fried rice, which at first appeared a generous portion, was just that, a generous portion of fried rice, with very little pork, beef, chicken, etc. It was bland, and I ended up mixing in a healthy dose of hot mustard and soy sauce to flavor it up. In short, the food was adequate, but nothing special.
