Plenty of good vegetarian options. I’ve been here about five times and have had good food every time.

We went to lunch here today, Sunday, and it was my first time. My boyfriend has been here before and liked it so he wanted for me to try. Altogether I give them 3 stars and here’s why: Food — The cinnamon chips and dip was absolutely amazing. The chips were sweet but the dip offset the sweetness so it was a good combo. The guacamole was absolutely delicious without the overly tasting lime juice or onion flavor. Our main courses were delicious as well. My boyfriend had the huevos rancheros and I had the chorizo hash and eggs. Overall the food was good. Drinks — My boyfriend liked the freshly squeezed orange juice. The coffee was not watered down and it was very flavorful. Service — This is the reason for the 3 stars rating. Our waiter started off strong. He was prompt with our drinks and chip appetizer. Everything was fine until he simply forgot about us. We were almost done with the chips and he never came back for our order. We couldn’t even wave him down because he didn’t even come back close enough to our table. We even saw him bring drinks to another table that came well after us and then took their order. He then proceed to put it in and never came back to us. The girls next to us came after that and their waitress took their order and we were still waiting, just so that you can get a timeline of how long we waited. At this point we asked her to take our order because we were starving and didn’t know when he will return. He eventually came back and apologized but by then our good afternoon was already somewhat ruined. We were still polite to him seeing that he was young but the service was still lacking. In conclusion, the food was good and the guac was amazing but the service was not as good and could’ve been better.

I went here with 4 girlfriends and we had a great time. Huge bowl of chips to start. We have them our huge bottle of tequila & with that they made us a pitcher of strawberry & regular margarita pitchers. The food was good. Served quickly. We felt bad because we knew others were waiting for our table, that’s how fast the service was. They didn’t give us dirty looks but we finished our drinks & meal and decided to call it a day and head out for the night. It wasn’t expensive at all. Was it fine dining? No. Was the food good? Yes? Was the atmosphere & staff friendly? Yes. I don’t know about a romantic dinner date, or a night out if you’re craving«the best» Mexican food; but if you’re looking for a place to get together with your friends without spending a lot of money then this might be a good choice(BYOB). Side note-we all went to Los Amigos before in Berlin & spent way more money, were cramped together neck to neck, and the food wasn’t that great. I’d definitely come here again for a margarita, burrito & a few laughs.

I will preface this review by saying that our favorite vacation destination is Mexico, so we’ve had plenty of real Mexican food. We thought The Tortilla Press was just«okay». On the positive side, the servers were upbeat, friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was also upbeat — a little noisy(like a cantina) but overall appealing. Mexican music was playing, which added to the festive atmosphere. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. Compared to authentic Mexican, we found the food here to be somewhat muted, lacking complexity of flavor, and in some cases flat out bland(guacamole, mashed beans). It was Mexican-lite. The best part of our meal was dessert, Banana Burrito. The rest of the meal was fairly unremarkable and we don’t see ourselves returning anytime soon. If you really want to try this restaurant, go on a Tuesday night. Tuesday night is «date night» and they have a special fixed price menu with a multi-course dinner for 2 that is only $ 38. It even includes a half a pitcher of alcohol-free margaritas, so bring your tequila.(This is a BYOB).

Came for brunch, 2nd time visiting here. I had the shrimp and scallop wrap, very filling and tasty. My boyfriend had mad pancakes and bacon, simple enough. For dessert we had the banana burrito that had strawberries in it as well, included a side of ice cream. The food & service was good, not great but good. The best part of the meal was the desert — yummy! I would visit here again.

One star is for the chili. The service and the rest of our meal gets zero stars. I have not been this disappointed with a restaurant in a long time. Our waitress was basically none existent. She was in a hurry to take our order almost like she had somewhere else she needed to be. I asked for no tomatoes and of course they were staring me in the face when she put my food down in front of me. My husband ordered wings for the appetizers and she couldn’t even clear the empty plates of our small table before she tried to squeeze everything on there. So naturally we put our empty plates on the table next to ours. It wasn’t busy at all for a Monday afternoon but as I observed the only other waitress working, yes there was only 2 waitresses, she had managed to give the wrong checks to 2 different tables and another tables meals were delivered to someone else. We went here for lunch because I had a living social deal. I will never return. We have been to numerous restaurants on Haddon Ave and have not been this unhappy before.

Amazing brunch with a Mexican twist. The Chilliquiles is a bowl of amazing for breakfast, while the chorizo hash and eggs is a great staple. As always you can’t go wrong with the huevos rancheros and their Mexican pizza is a great starter. It’s also BYOB so you can bring champagne for lunch and tequila for dinner. The coffee is fresh and orange juice is fresh squeezed highly recommend.

I was planning a birthday party for my wife and we thought a tapas theme would be appropriate. We happened to be at Tortilla Press and saw that they had a Tapas Party available at the restaurant. We were having the party at a friends house and inquired about getting the tapas from them. They were very helpful in working out the details and the tapas were all great. And we had some left over, so there was not a problem with not enough food. The food was also varied including ceviche shooters, spinach and cheese mushroom caps, scallops wrapped in bacon, barbecued pork sliders, mango chicken skewers and vegetable and goat cheese empanadas and cheesesteak empanadas. Other choices were available. We also ordered a couple of quiches which were also excellent. If you enjoy Mexican tapas style food, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Took about 45 minutes to an hour to get our food. When we finally got it we were told there was a mix up but when the bill came nothing at all was taken off. They honestly didn’t even seem to care. Don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

Now that I live in the area, I’ve since been back for dinner. This place really is as good as it gets. Everything tastes fresh, the staff is always friendly, and is always incredibly helpful. This is genuine gem and has become part of my current«place to frequent» when deciding where to go out to for dinner.

Definitely on the pricy side of food. Their guacamole and margaritas are not as good as the price tag that accompanies them. And definitely a long wait on a weekend or a late night dinner trip. Staff is quite friendly though and the food is good!!!

We had some delicious plates here but had some pretty rough mishaps on the service and the food was not out of this world to recover from that. They definitely do mexican well though and prices were good. Byo also makes it lovely and the salsas/bean dip they bring for everyone was great! That salsa verde was delicious. We had put our name on the waiting list and they said theyd call our cell when a table was ready, but we never got a call and our name had been crossed off the list after waiting a long time. We finally asked the host and she said she said she had too many people to manage and she doesnt know what happened. She set up a table on the side of the host stand for us that barely fit behind this big party and then never told a server to wait on us and no one saw us behind the host stand until we asked for a server 20 minutes later. The server forgot some apps we ordered but comped some stuff on the bill for the inconvenience at least. We got the entomatada with chicken which had a delicious mole sauce. Wouldn’t say it was the best enchilada type entrée ever but it was good. We got fried plantains which were delicious but they just came with plain sour cream which didn’t go very well. It was a missed opportunity on what could have been a good sauce pair. We got some delicious empanadas too. They too were better without the sauce they had paired with them. If I was in the area craving mexican, Id probably go back and hit up their burritos and for their salsa verde/bean dip again, but I’m not dying to go back.

I’ve heard plenty of good things about The Tortilla Press, but it’s never topped my list of things to try since I’m not a huge fan of Mexican food. But recently I was invited to a wedding shower, hosted at The Tortilla Press, so I RSVPed yes and was happy to check out the venue and menu. Parking here is hit or miss. The restaurant is located on the main road so you’ll have to either go to the free parking lot a few blocks away or find street parking. If there is a farmers market avoid the free parking lot. The restaurant is bigger than you would think, and the party I was attending was placed in the back room. The back room provided some privacy, but it cannot be fully closed off from everyone else since there isn’t really a door. The table set up made it a little tight and hard to navigate the room. The tables were set with menus, chips and dip. The chips and dip were delicious. I selected the Cantina Beef Burrito off of the select catering menu. The Burrito was amazing– one of the best I’ve had. It came out hot and stuffed with beef, cheese, rice and beans– and it wasn’t spicy at all. The burrito was huge, sadly I couldn’t finish the whole thing since I had been snacking on the chips and dip beforehand. The staff at the restaurant was great, they were all friendly and happy to help.

Went there for dinner for restaurant week a while ago, and we will never go back again. Service was fine, the chef is a nice guy, but the food… Bland, unseasoned banquet food, some of it looking like it came out of a can. Even given a dry, crumbly cupcake to top it off. I couldn’t believe it from all the great reviews. I have no idea why so many people go to this place?! The only thing I can think of is that you can bring your own tequila, so it can help you forget the terrible life choice you made by coming here.

I wouldn’t necessarily call this authentic mexican food. It was decent food but idk if Id go back when I want mexican. The staff was friendly and happy and attentive. That’s a plus. The guac had good flavor. My blackened tuna burrito was bland. I had to dress it up w salsa and hot sauce. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals.

I have had such varied experiences at the Tortilla Press that it’s hard to write a review. I have had issues(from service to food quality) in the past when I’ve have gone here for dinner but reluctantly came out for brunch once. I can highly recommend their brunch. They have cinnamon sugar tortilla chips and several great brunch options(including breakfast, lunch, and combo type meals). Their OJ is squeezed fresh and is great for BYOB mimosas. Meh for dinner but a must try for brunch.

Amazing! Walked in and was immediately greeted and assured by the host that we’d be seated soon. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server, who brought us chips and dip(great portions). I ordered a chicken burrito that was decently priced and delicious! Excellent, speedy service and great food. Especially considering how crowded it was that night!

I feel like Tortilla Press is one of the restaurants probably most associated with Collingswood. There are obviously a ton of restaurants in town, but I feel whenever Collingswood comes up it is usually followed by the comment–«oh, where Tortilla Press is, correct?» With that being said, it’s probably a little overly hyped. The traditional fare is fine but nothing extraordinary. However, I do think where they do shine is with their more unique recipe combos. On my most recent visit, I opted for a dish in the middle of the road in terms of uniqueness. I was contemplating what to pair the goat cheese and pumpkin quesadilla appetizer with when I noticed that any cheese can be used for the enchiladas. I opted for two goat cheese enchiladas and one with spicy beef. Half the dish had the red sauce and half the dish had the green sauce. I believe chili and mole sauce to be exact. To be honest, they didn’t really taste all too different. Additionally, the spicy beef wasn’t spicy. I think what I enjoyed the most was that the dish had goat cheese. The rice and beans were really bland and nothing special. The super spicy mash helped enhance the flavor. The service was superb; our server Jillian took the time to address every last concern and question. My group of four was pretty tough. My friends hadn’t had the best experience at Tortilla Press in the past, especially concerning the spice levels. It was great that Jillian was able to have an open dialogue with us. That’s where the mash came in. She provided a little dish for the table and it was mad hot. At one point I put a little too much on my food and I teared up in just one eye. I love that type of spice level! It’s important to note that Tortilla Press is BYOB, however New Jersey(or Collingswood?) law states that BYOB includes just beer and wine. They let you bring tequila(and offer virgin margaritas for purchase) but ask that you hide it. Police are known to stop in looking for violations. Speaking of the margarita, it was a nice sour margarita mix. It complimented our tequila nicely. I definitely enjoyed my meal, the service and the company I was with, however I probably won’t be rushing back. For my return, I will definitely go with one of their more inventive dishes.
