Sizzor Shak

I was very disappointed and upset when I left yesterday. I was in my best friends wedding and wanted an updo. I told my stylist that I was excited to look pretty for my fiancé because since we have had our now 5 month old daughter, he has only seen me with my hair in a messy bun… and that’s the exactly what she gave me. for my $ 50 dollar updo. With the exception that it was plastered flat to my head. making it seem as though i had no hair to work with, when in reality i have long thick hair that held the curls she gave me, but due to the «style» they were thrown up in, couldnt tell. Worst part is that IT DIDNT EVEN HOLD UP FOR THE PICUTES!!! There were random strands and a chunk in the front that completely fell out from being pinned to the back! Maybe it was so expensive because she charged me for the 43 Bobby pins I pulled out before bed? I’m just going to suggest that if you HAVE to go here, please bring a pictute. If not they get lazy and throw you out of their chair as fast as they can.

Gretchen was awesome! I’m usually a ball of nerves when I go get my hair cut but she made me feel relaxed and calm, even during my brow wax. :)
I walked out looking and feeling great and look forward to my next appointment. Thank you so much Gretchen!

Let me just say that I found it sooo worth driving the 45 minutes from my residence in south st. Louis county to Collinsville for my appointment. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. It was clean, inviting and the staff was great. I didn’t really have a set plan on what I wanted done, and my stylist, Amber, did an excellent job of helping me narrow down a color and knew exactly the cut I was looking for. I was also pleasantly surprised, as I was prepared to pay over 100 dollars for a cut and color and I had not reached that threshold. if I had any complaint at all, it would be that parking is very limited and I parked a couple blocks away. Everything else was very pleasant.

Great staff with a nice environment. The owners constantly put their investment in money and time by improving the shop’s interior and services. Spa services available.
Walk-​ins are okay, but I would suggest getting an appointment with your favorite stylist.

Very nice facility; great prices. My stylist, Tricia, was helpful, friendly and did a great job. I can’t wait to go again!

Been going here for a couple of years. Friendly service, great stylists. Finally got to meet the owner today. Apparently the right-​wing politics comes free with the service. How very special. I can no longer support this establishment. Very sad.

AMAZING SALON! I might be a little biased toward this salon, but I have photographed models (including Miss Oklahoma) who have had their hair & make up done at Sizzor Shak & it has always turned out beautifully! If you ever have a photo shoot planned, you should really stop by Sizzor Shak to get their Airbrush Make Up done. It really does make a difference in your photos! ;) And of course, who wouldn’t want an amazing hairstyle to go with it! Think of it as humiliation prevention for when you look back on your photos 30 years from now! :)

I go here all the time to get my hair cut. I always walk in and have any stylist cut my hair. Always a great job and cut the way I want. They have experienced stylist working here. Not the crap shoot you get at the national chains.

Going to Sizzor Shark… is like going to catch up with old friends.
My daughter and I went to Sizzor Shark for an updo and came out looking like models!!! We love love love Michelle and Linda. They were awesome to work with and quick too!!! We can’t wait to go back!!!

Terrible Haircut. I actually think it’s the worst cut I’ve ever gotten. I used to have hair way past my shoulders. Now it doesn’t even touch my shoulders. I only asked for a trim. I cried when I got home. I would never go here again.

The best place I have been too. I live an hour and 15 minutes away and it is worth the trip. It has been over a year since I have been there due to work and school, but this is the first place I found where the atmosphere is great and the cut was awesome! Gretchen is very talented. She was the first stylist to ever cut my hair right.
I took my grandma there last year on her birthday to get a cut and perm, they were so great with her. I appreciated that so much. Not many places have the patience with the elderly.
Well worth the drive and money.

I’ve been a Sizzor Shak advocate for more than three years now. They have a wide range of services, that only continues to grow. They offer color, cuts, wedding/​prom up-​dos, waxing, airbrush makeup, etc. The employees always amaze me with their talents.
I love the atmosphere and customer service touches they add to my experience. It’s a fun place to work, and the employees really portray that. They care about the customers and always cater to anything you need.
Everyone welcomes you with a smile. Not only are they talented employees, they’re friends that I always look forward to seeing at the salon.
