I really liked the food. We had both Thai and French dishes. Wine and beer only, no booze.

So far I’ve been here twice. SeaSide is a old converted house converted to a restaurant with a small bar and outdoor porch in the front. If you come here, be prepared to wait quite a while for your food. The food is good, with the Papaya salad being the highlight. The spring rolls were nice and crispy on the outside, but the filling felt a little soggy. The Summer rolls(I think they call them ‘Garden Rolls’) Are ok, not the best I’ve had. The Drunken noodle and Pad Thai are very good. Last night I tried the Eggplant dish with beef. It was ok, but not as flavorful as the noodle dishes I’ve had or the curry. The service is ok, my water was empty quite often, but everyone is very friendly, which is always appreciated.

The food looks good and so does the setting. But the«service» leaves a lot to be desired. I came with a coupon and they flatly refused to honor it and were rude about it. I understand that they may not like the program but this place doesn’t honor its commitments and is rude. Not worth it. Menu is also quite pricey for location/ambiance. Not a good place.

The Shrimp gardens rolls come in an awesome size and taste delicious, I also ordered tbe seafood drubken noodles which is pretty decent as well. this is my first time coming here and I enjoyed it, would definitely come back.

Can’t speak to the French, but the Thai food was legit. And, when I asked for the kaprow to be done«Thai hot», it came out wonderfully spicy.(Lots of places hold back for fear you’ll return the food… or trash them on Unilocal.) Also, very quick service: I was hungry, so I’m glad they weren’t on «island time.» I wasn’t expecting much from a Thai French place in a small Virginia river town, but this is a place I would be happy to return to, regardless of the location.

We are relatively particular about our Thai food, but SeaSide was a pleasant surprise. The food was very good and they were very friendly. We dropped by for my wife’s birthday and had the green curry, papaya salad and garden rolls. We very much enjoyed the flavor of the green curry and the papaya salad was pleasantly peanutty compared to others we have had. my wife had the crème brulé for dessert and mentioned that it was one of the best she has ever had.

I just love the Thai food at this quaint little Colonial Beach restaurant. I have not tried the French menu. I intend to try it, but every time I visit SeaSide, I order the Thai because I know I’m going to love it. I recently heard a local describe this restaurant by saying, «it’s as good as any restaurant in DC.» That was high praise considering Colonial Beach is a small town and is not known for it’s culinary offerings. I normally order the drunken noodle, extra spicy, and am never disappointed. I also order the fried pork dish, which is slightly sweet and spicy and has a hint of orange in the sauce. It is a unique blend of flavors, and my husband and I cannot stop eating it. We normally plan to take some home, but it’s addictive. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious, the presentation is absolutely beautiful, and the service is great.

Passing through the area again & had to come back here & get more wonderful Thai food. I guess we’re creatures of habit as we basically ordered the same thing we had last time. I had seafood drunken noodles and the wife had shrimp pad Thai. We did have the mango cheese cake for dessert. It was fantastic. As last time, the restaurant was very clean and the staff was pleasant.

Very disappointed with the food. Heard good reviews from friends and saw good reviews on Unilocal,so decided to try this place out. Ordered fried rice and pad thai. Pad thai was on the sweet side and the shrimp wasn’t fresh. Fried rice was ok. I would not come back to this place again.

We ordered the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. The waitress messed up our order and then decided to ignore us the rest of the night. Luckily, another employee helped us out by getting us our check. We never were given drink refills. We probably wouldn’t go back. The drunken noodles upset my husband’s stomach due to the greasiness level.

I’ve never heard of a Thai/French place so I was curious what the menu would look like. The menu had two sections the Thai section and the French section. In my mind I thought it would be Thai/French food somehow combined, but I was happy to see it separated. I ordered the chicken pad Thai, it was OK. The service was excellent. My waitress was extremely friendly and was very helpful in suggesting some things to do in the area.

After an all day good time at the beach we headed back to our hotel for check in and change. When we headed back into town we were just looking for a fairly good restaurant that wasn’t a chain. This restaurant is nestled in the middle of town and was a nice surprise from the average place. The food was excellent. I ordered a steak Diane and my husband had the Thai chicken. Neither of us was disappointed. To top off a wonderful meal paired with great wine we ordered the crème brûlée. The service was impeccable and we loved sitting outside. I definitely would go again.

On a weekend visit, we ate here based on very high reviews. I ordered a relatively simple Thai dish and honestly didn’t enjoy the meal. The noodles were undercooked, egg was burned and veggies were soggy. Very surprising because we heard good things, but other than the service, this place doesn’t deserve high acclaim at all.

This is a once in a lifetime kind of place. Don’t miss it! My husband and I love eating here. They moved to where the old Lighthouse restaurant used to be. Beautiful views of the bay to accompany such a delicious dinner!

This place is a hidden jewel, I cannot believe this place is in such a small town. The food is so awesome and authentic. The server was so nice and really worked with my daughter’s food allergies. The food came out very quickly and was piping hot. If this place was in Fredericksburg, I would be eating here weekly. I highly recommend the drunken noodles!

I had been going to Colonial Beach for much of my life and we had not been in a few years, as a fan of Thai food I was extremely excited to see that there is such a place to eat in Colonial Beach, I’m very picky and compare every Thai place I eat to a local favorite, but I have to say this place really won me over, not only with the amazing food but with the service. I love my food so I know when someone is just giving me a by the book read through of a dish and when the person who is talking has actually tried it and is telling me about their person feelings of it, the wait staff was amazing and knew the menu well. My wife is from China and is insanely picky about food, she loved this place so much she made me take her a second time(two days in a row), as if she had to twist my arm. the second night we took my parents and they too absolutely loved it. It is hands down the best place on the beach.

FIVESTARS: The restaurant is located in a house near the waters. When you walk in through the doors, you’ll immediately notice the Thai exotic décor with gold, blue and orange accents. The setting is warm, romantic and rustique. Our large party reserved a private room in the back of the restaurant. The room itself is very intimate, located farther away from the main areas of the restaurant. The room could probably hold about 30 – 40 people. The service is impeccable. Our server, Rose was particularly attentive and sweet. She checked on us just the right amount of times, our drinks were always filled. She helped my sister and I select a wine from the wide selection. She made very yummy Thai Tea(the best we’ve had). The owners, Yupin and Chairod(?spelling) greeted us a few times during our meal to make sure everything was perfect. And surely it was. I just really love it when the chef or the owner of a mom and pop type restaurant checks up on their patrons and seem to genuinely care. We ordered several of the dishes so here’s the break down of the dishes I could remember: Pad Kee Mao: My favorite dish. Most know this dish as «Drunken Noodle». This dish is a stir fried noodle dish. It has distinctive flavors of thai basil, fresh red chili pepper with perfectly cooked pork. The cuts of meat seems to be high quality compared to other places.(you could also get it with seafood, chicken or beef) Pad Thai: I normally do not like Pad Thai. Usually it’s too soggy or alternatively, too hard. This one was cooked perfectly with notes of sweet and sour. The noodles cooked al dente. Absolutely loved this dish. Pad See Ew: Soft, chewy rice noodles pan fried with chicken and Chinese broccoli. Yummy.(Again, can be made with the meats mentioned above). Yum Phet(Thai Duck Curry): This was the special of the day. It was creamy coconut milk, mildly spicy with spices that enhanced the roasted duck. This is a must try item! The duck was very tender and flavorful. Moo Dat Dieo(deep fried pork) perfectly crispy and soft on inside eaten with sticky rice. My go-to place for this dish has been demoted. I used to love it from Bangkok 54 in Arlington, but this one definitely reigns in as King of Moo Dat Dieo! Shu Mai: Large! Duck Salad: A very deep and tasty duck complemented in just the right amount of exotic flavors. Papaya Salad: Again another exotic salad. Fresh, crisp, tartness of green papaya combined with the saltiness of fish sauce and fresh red chilis was delicious! This dish has many variations throughout Asia. Filet Mignon: Extremely soft and tender. Other viewer was exactly right on the dot. It was«tender and succulent». Melts right in your mouth, it was so tender! Desserts: Chocolate pâté: decadent and unique. I didn’t think I would like this dish. But wow, it’s like an explosion of interesting flavors of chocolate in your mouth! I’d probably get it again if I came back. Mango and sticky rice with coconut on top was very good. Traditional dessert at most Thai Restaurants. I honestly wish this place was back home. But the reality is, it is everything you’d want in an intimate and romantic setting located in just an area that you’d want it in… near the waters in a small, unspoiled town called Colonial Beach. It really makes it that much more appealing to visit. The service, the food, and the setting earns this place FIVESTARS and GOLDSTATUS.

You gotta love it when you find a diamond in the rough, especially when it’s a mom & pop operation executed wonderfully. Went to visit a friend in the area this past weekend and she recommended this place. I was pleasantly surprised! From the outside, I would’ve never expected this quality of food and presentation. I actually took some pics for the first time. lol. Will post them up later… I felt like I was eating at a fine dining restaurant, but at a MUCH more affordable price. We ordered both Thai food and French food and both were outstanding. It wasn’t too busy when we visited and interestingly enough, we had a nice conversation with the owners. They were really excited about being able to attain a high quality chef from the DC area. I really enjoyed the food and service and my friend said she thought the food was even better than the last couple times she visited. I’ll definitely return when I’m in the area.

One of my new favorite Thai places around this area. Wonderful owners, super friendly and great customer service. Food was beautifully presented on plate and taste was wonderful. Try the Thai iced coffee if you like sweet coffee drinks. Homemade ice cream was good too. Definitely a place to visit!
