Oh my drive down to Florida from New York, a few of my friends became a bit hangry. I recommended the cookout because I remember the days that I use to eat at this establishment in NC. They didn’t really know why to expect so my sister-in-law and I have a few suggestions and they were glad that we stopped here. Although we went through the drive through, the staff was pleasant and we received out food quickly. The food came out even better then I remember and my friends loved how fresh the food was and how the food was doused with sauce that was mouth watering. The only down fall to this particular location is that the man at the window taking orders missed a few of the items although he read it back to us(we was not charged for them) and we couldn’t even order the items into outmoded at the window. But overall it was a success.

Usually I love Cook Out. I go for a great burger and fries. Not crazy about the milkshakes. I always order chocolate yet it still tastes like vanilla and it’s too thick. And my order is always slightly wrong. I never Cajun seasoned fries when I ask for them. And they ask what I want on my burger but they never do what I ask. Smh this is a main reason I am giving up fast food for the coming year. Yesterday’s meal was by far the worst I’ve gotten from them ever. I’ll give three stars because I do love the burgers but they need to do better.

The burgers and chicken trays are awesome. My favorites are the out west style burgers and the Cajun style chicken burgers.

If you like a good milkshake, one so thick and creamy that it begs to be eaten with a spoon until it melts just enough for the straw, Cookout can fix you up. The fruit options are particularly sublime — worlds away from the typical fast food experience(frozen dairy dessert + artificially flavored syrup.) Made of vanilla ice cream blended with actual fruit, they’re refreshing and not too sweet. The mix-in options make these already outstanding shakes even better. The cobbler/pudding options are fruit shakes with added Nilla wafers. The fruit cheesecake selections are blended with a hunk of cheesecake. So far, my favorites have been the peach cobbler and the pineapple cheesecake. The watermelon flavor is also terrific, but only available for a couple of months each summer. Fresh watermelon chunks mixed with vanilla ice cream may sound strange, but the melon meets creamsicle flavor really works well. Because there aren’t any DC locations, Cookout shakes are a rare treat for me, but I will work my way through that menu if it takes another decade or two of roadtrips!

My boyfriend and I was coming back from Atlanta for his best friend engagement proposal. He told me about this place and how everyone raves about. So we decided to find one in Virginia. We kept missing the turn unfortunately but we finally arrived at this one. The food was amazing! It’s so simple, just like cookout food. We also had the Oreo shake, which was hard to suck out of. The shake was good as well with a spoon lol. I wish they had one in Maryland!

The meat on the burger was great. The bread tasted very old a friend got the chicken sandwich and the bread look old the food is cheap is different I admit. I will not be going back. I must add on their defense am not a fan of burgers but still just complaining about the the bread.

I don’t usually review fast food restaurant but the burger here was exceptional. I got the huge burger and it had two patties, irregular shapes so obviously made by hand, charred to perfection, pure beef. I had it with grilled onions which were done perfectly. Just enough fat but not greasy. I prefer it to 5 guys, way faster and for $ 3.49 was best value burger I’ve ever had.

All I’m gonna say is that it’s not gourmet it’s just easy. If you had a long day and need something quick then this is where you can drive through.

Usually pretty great food and milkshakes At this cookout. Blueberry cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake milkshakes are my favorites. Cheddar burger and cookout burger are bangin. Love the chicken sandwich. Hush puppies, onion rings, corndogs, chicken wraps, all delicious. Chicken quesadillas are better than Taco Bell. Love this place. Especially after 3am. Late night stoners beware: the police like to pull random cars on the boulevard after midnight.

I’m very pleased with the dinner my family had here last night, especially for under $ 20.00. It is not«fine dining». I think some people had unreal expectations reading the reviews. This place is a great alternative to the regular, hum-drum, blah, fast food burger joints that serves burgers that look NOTHING like the pictures they show. Bottom line: good food. check decent portions. check great prices. check speedy service. check PS my wife loved the milkshake.

My kids and I love The Cookout in Colonial Heights. The cashiers are so friendly. I always order off the $ 5.00 tray. I get something different every time I go. Everything taste pretty good.

This drive thru hamburger joint really made my day a good one after I stopped here for the first time for lunch… Every town should have a place like this that makes freshly formed and grilled burgers. This location appears to be one of their newer shops. Although it was freezing out, I ordered from their walk-up window. Plenty of burgers, grilled chicken, hot dogs, grilled cheese, and sides to order. I went with a bacon cheeseburger with everything. I can’t say enough how much of a difference it is between a fresh and frozen burger. The burger I ordered was even more memorable thanks to the freshly made bacon that was served on it. A nice change from the pre-packaged stuff that seems to be the norm these days. Very affordable, smiling and friendly staff, and several locations to choose from. This is one of those everyday type of places that I don’t have where I live that makes me envious. I hope the locals here enjoy it and its convenient locations around town b

Not impressed. I had a Cajun chicken breast sandwich, hush puppies, and a strawberry milkshake. The milkshake was the best item I had(and I would have gone for a more interesting flavor but I ended up ordering right at the window to pay because my fiancée mentioned they had milkshakes. I only got the hush puppies because I’m from CA and we don’t have that out there. The cajun breast was alright. The spices were leaking off and the breast wasn’t anything magnificent. My man ordered the regular hot dogs and he asked«what do they come with?» «You customize it she says.» «Ok. I’ll take ketchup and onions on both.» What do you think he had on his customized dogs? MUSTARD and onions. How does one mix those two different ingredients up?!? He doesn’t like mustard but he toughened up and ate the dogs. Another point — the lady at the drive thru had a bit of ‘tude, and we didn’t do anything that warranted such behavior. All we did was add the two milkshakes which were ready instantly and paid immediately.

Didn’t see a place to go inside to order. It was our 1st time and being a large group it was very stressful trying to get a large order together in a hurry at the drive up with multiple cars behind us. The chicken fingers were horrible! The hush puppies were amazing! The slaw was average and my husband the burger was good not great. If I ever went back I would just get the hush puppies. Can’t beat 12 for only .99!

1st time at Cook-out and if we’re near one, I’ll gladly go again. Reasonably priced and tasty burgers. Everything is ala carte. They offer chicken nuggets as a side(how great is that?) And I loved the cajun fries! Some places sprinkle a little cajun salt and call them cajun fries — here they used an actual cajun seasoning and they were spicy and delish! And they have a variety of milkshakes. I think it was 35… Anyways very good! My only complaint is that they seemed to be a little unorganized. And while they do have a drive thru, if you choose to walk up and order, there isn’t any covering to protect from the elements. The food appeared to be fresh and made to order. I had a small BBQ Burger and of course the cajun fries along with a vanilla shake. And Hubs had the BBQ burger and Pulled Pork(small burgers) with a Peanut Butter Fudge Shake. We were full and happy and it didn’t break the budget! We’ll stop by again on our next road trip!

The fact that quesadillas and chicken nuggets are a side is remarkable on its own. Generally Cook-Out won’t do you wrong. If you’re looking for cheap fast food, then it could become your new favorite place. The two real winners here are the pulled pork BBQ sandwich and the milkshake selection. Banana pudding, chocolate peanut butter cup, and even eggnog in December make for a really diverse and wholly satisfying milkshake menu. The banana pudding milkshake even has chunks of banana and vanilla wafers inside. Enough said.

Well my wife and I finely decide last night to try this place out. Well I was not impressed at all the burgers at nothing different, they claim to have the these large onion ring’s what a joke. The onion ring’s were small then the milkshakes are suppose to so great well just average. They don’t live up to the hype but they aren’t bad either, they are just your average burger joint.

Typical cook-out. Very busy. Lots of flies around. I love that they have crushed ice. As a chain, the fare was typical and you get what you expect.

Having read reviews raving over this franchise and seeing this new location open nearby, I decided to try it out. Frankly, what’s the big deal? It’s not bad, but there wasn’t anything I found that made it particularly noteworthy. My burger came out with everything I asked for on it(including the onions that I requested it NOT have) except maybe for the«cajun seasoning» of which there was no seasoning detected. The fries were okay, but not special. The sweet tea was really good with a lot of tea flavor, but not so sweet that it was like drinking sugar. Again, everything was okay. Just okay.
