This is a small yet wonderful bookstore with a lot of classic books and hardcovers. Bought an out of print, hard to find book in beautiful condition that was extremely reasonable price wise at Clausen, that was very high priced on ebay and Amazon. The owner is very knowldegeable and a really nice guy. Interesting bookstore.

Found this place yesterday when I went to the shoe repair store next door. The bookstore is somewhat small, but there were so many lovely old books. I love hardcover, old fashioned looking copies of classic literature and I found some great ones here. The owner (I assumed he was the owner) is really friendly and knowledgable. I bought 2 books (Jane Eyre and The Satanic Verses) and they were very inexpensive and in perfect condition. There’s a book there signed by Tennyson. I hope some day I can come back and buy it. If you’re looking for rare books, this is definitely a good place for that. Or if you just like browsing used bookstores, like me, you’re sure to find something to walk away with.
Oh, and he accepts credit cards! Definitely a plus for me, I’m a bit of a germaphobe and I hate carrying cash.

Doug Clausen was incredibly helpful. He spent about 45 minutes helping me look for something in particular, and when we were unable to track it down he asked me to leave my name and number so he could continue looking for me.
One book in particular I was searching out he didn’t have so did an online search and pointed me in the direction of a bookshop out of state. He could have just as easily told me «Sorry, don’t have it.»
Mr. Clausen has books dating as far back as the 1500s! How rad is that?
