Well, sitting down to have a cup and my first impression of the place was«Industrial steam punk lookish maybe»? The shocking part was the sign on the feezer recommending you to freeze your coffee. WTF? This from an in house roasting facility??? YOUDONOTFREEZECOFFEE! Light and heat are factors in the deterioration of fresh roasted coffee and thus cause the coffee to lose it’s flavor profile. So, for a bit of free advice. Use an airtight metal container and store in a cool dark place and NO not the fridge or freezer! Onto the coffee itself, The coffee was mediocre ‚(better than Starbucks for what it’s worth) not sure what they were pulling or even if the batista(I use that title loosely) knew. I had higher expectations for the place but it kinda has the quantity and not quality feel/vibe to it.

This is such a cute little place. I’m a barista(let’s just say at a very popular chain) and I always leave and head to the cute little local coffee shops. I was very excited that I picked the right place on my drive home today. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable about their coffee, and quick. The breakfast was so good and really filling. They had a great assortment of fresh, homemade pastries as well. The only thing I didn’t like was how loud it was when they roasted the beans. I couldn’t really think to study. Ill be back either way though and I’m excited to introduce my husband to a new place.

More of a roastery than real coffee shop, you may appreciate a cup as well as a biscuit etc in a comfortable setting. It is the very best coffee roaster we have discovered locally and have our favorite for that first cup in the morning and another to carry us through the day brew. Additional Truck & Guatemala if you must know but they’ve a great assortment and all newly roasted so research.

Best coffee ever! This is definitely the best place to go in Colorado Springs for coffee. Not only do they have the best coffee but they also have superb customer service. The level of quality is excellent and the beans are roasted on site!

Having heard this was a great coffee place I decided to check it out for myself. I walked in and saw the beans in the Freezer after walking around a bunch of roasting equipment in the middle of everything. That was two strikes right there. Freezing coffee is bad for the oils and the degasing process after roasting. They sell v60 filters and the pour overs yet when I asked they don’t serve v60. Strike three, we should have walked out after strike two. I tried their coffee which came out of one of the thermos warmers that assure you have stale coffee after the first hour of brewing. Sampled a few that looked appealing. And they were watered down weak coffee… I’m not saying it’s gotta be Starbucks over roasted or anything but it was very weak coffee. My wife ordered an omelet and they charged us 12.80 $ my coffee was only 2.50 $ no reason to go here. Better coffee experiences with the principals office or fifty fifty coffee.

I stopped by for a quick cup of coffee as I was on this side of town for once. My first thought about the environment/atmosphere is that I like the place; it is simple yet functional. Not much of a fan of the«globo-coffee» style places. The coffee I got was drip and while not my preferred method of brewing coffee I will consume on occasion. I had asked if they do pour over style coffee, which is my personal favorite. Coffee merchants brewed some of the best drip coffee I’ve had in awhile. I will definitely make it a point to go back and get more coffee. Last but not least the staff was friendly and helpful. Standby for more updated review.

Coffee is delicious service is fantastic. It’s a working shop for roasting coffee so sitting area is ok but could use a little atmosphere. New favorite!

Great place, and they seriously know their coffee. They do an excellent job with espresso, which made my bf super happy,(and he is quite picky about espresso). Very friendly service, and cool décor(especially if you’re a fan of metalwork and a cozy industrial feel). There’s a roaster out in the area near the counter, and it’s really cool to look at and be up close to nifty coffee equipment. An enthusiast’s dream!

I would really love to say that this is an awesome coffee shop, I drove a couple miles to get here and deliberately searched this place out because of the reviews. However, if your door is still open, you need to serve the customer that comes in. I did not see anything on the door I came in about closing hours. I have worked in the restaurant business for over 20 years. If a customer comes in to a coffee shop and asks for espresso, you don’t tell them you can’t serve it because you’re getting ready to clean the machine. If you’re cleaning the machine in a coffee shop, you close the door and lock it.

Excellent latte and a fresh home cooked egg sandwich with home fries made a perfect breakfast. This is not a quick place to get a cup of coffee since there is one guy behind the counter who is both barista and cashier and all food is made to order, but it is worth it if you want some quality food. Staff is friendly and tables are nice if you can get one.

I love this place and the coffee is great! It’s good to support local business and you want go wrong here. I’m a STARBUCKS man, and this coffee is as good or even better. The desserts are homemade and are 5 star and their coffee pair great with cigars! Great customer service and I love the atmosphere…

I love coffee. I love the coffee beans here. I love the people behind the counter. I love coffee!!! Oh, wait, I think I already said that… If I’m in a rush and need a coffee pick me up, Colorado Coffee Merchants isn’t actually my first choice. First of all, I don’t like driving on Fillmore if I can help it, and sometimes I really need a drive-thru(which they don’t have), and honestly I hate the parking lot. BUT I love buying the coffee beans for home. If you’re the type who wants a cozy little coffee place to sit and chat with someone, or just be relaxed and comfortable, I’d say, right now, until they make a few changes, this isn’t the place for you. They’ve got a few tables and chairs and also at least one area to sit outside but it just doesn’t exude the cozy atmosphere I personally love about coffee houses. However, like I mentioned before, the beans are delicious. And, the barista is always genuinely friendly. If you need to choose some coffee beans for home, ask for some guidance. They are more than happy to let you know what your options are and what they personally like. The service isn’t really very fast at all, but it’s very personal service that you don’t get much of anymore.

Very friendly staff. Obviously focused on supplying good product to wholesale accounts while maintaining a great bar. Watched the staff interact with customers … Makes this a happy place that I would come back to often if I were local. They are on a busy road and their signage is brown … Which doesn’t stand out well against the mountains. It’s very easy to pass and not know where it is. Regardless, the regular stream of customers in the store means that people know they are here. Worth the trip!

My absolute favorite coffee place in Colorado good service that does not take forever like some places, and I love the vibe in general! I’ve never been disappointed with the quality of their beans and I always have a bag of espresso and cabin roast coffee on hand at home! the coffee cup is a great idea if you go often, and the coffee bean bags make great dogs bed. I only wish they were open Sundays!!!

Great place with great employees. It is very accommodating and the staff is very pleasant. It does get loud every once in while when they are roasting their coffee.

I’ve generally only purchased a cup of coffee when I’ve stopped in here. Admittedly, the coffee beans are a bit pricy for me. However, I have always enjoyed anything I’ve purchased here.. . anything. I’ve never had any desire to try any of the pre-wrapped baked goods. They may taste fabulous but I’m just there for the java. CCM roasts their own coffee. I’ve never had a cup that tasted nasty and burnt like Charbucks.. Charbucks, that makes me chuckle every time. A place like that cannot hold a candle to a place like this. The few times that I’ve purchased coffee, the employees are very good about explaining the flavors and complexities of the beans. To be truthful, I’m no coffee expert but I do love a good cup of coffee. The layout and the décor are spartan.

I think they have possibly the best coffee in Colorado Springs. Sadly, they charge like they do too. I love their coffee and would have given 5 stars if they were more price competitive. I have given gift certificates away for business and everyone was very appreciative and have tried to have biz meetings there but if they are roasting, forget it. The noise is horrendously loud. It would be a better place if they put a glass wall in front of the roasting area to keep the noise down.

I recently started using a different roast from another local company but it really didn’t hold a torch to the quality I was getting here. So after I ran out of that roaster I picked some espresso from CCM and I couldn’t be happier, while I was there I also picked up a couple bottles of Monin syrup while I was there. They are one of the few places I have found that actually sell Monin to the public. You can’t go wrong here at all. Thanks CCM!
