First visit since last Winter, and just had that urge for a Conway’s Burger. We shared ½ burger, fries, cheese steak, and bean soup. Burger & fries won the day… excellent! The cheese steak was above average but not like Philly. Bean soup was very flavorful; but, could have cooked a little more to soften the beans a bit more. Fast & friendly service(like always). We’ll be back(probably as soon as daughter hears we went there without her!)

Talk about a dive. A little dark and dingy, sticky tables, vinyl booths and chairs with rips and tears. All may seam a bit unappetizing, but the food makes up for it! Prices have seemed to creep up a bit over the years, but the portion sizes are huge! The chili burger is awesome, and ½ is more than enough! The food is very heavy and greasy, so this really is a place you’d want to visit every once in a great while. My family has nicknamed Conway’s burgers«Fart burgers», so beware.

Before I explain my one star rating, let me tell you that I have been enjoying Conway’s for almost 15 years now. They were my favorite and practically a tradition. I’m not completely certain, but my co – workers and I suspect that they shrunk the patties. They are thinner and more dry than they used to be. It could be because they have been overcooked lately, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt on that one. Second: two price hikes in less than three months. you cannot get a full size cheeseburger, fries and a drink for under $ 13. That is a joke for a burger joint. You get more(better tasting) burgers at that price pretty much anywhere else in town. According to this website: They have almost doubled their prices in the last two years. Today was the last day my coworkers and I will eat at Red Top.

If you like BIG burgers, Conway’s is for you. I’ve been here a few times, and recently took the whole family, which was the first time I’ve taken kids here. I learned that Conway’s is very family-friendly. Their kids meals are awesome! Around four bucks for food, fries, a drink and a cookie with sprinkles(if you have kids, you know that«dessert» is important). I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had good kids meals too – the kids’ menus are an afterthought at most restaurants. Our kiddos got the grilled cheese, and the hot dog. Both finished everything and loved it. I got the Giant Hickory Burger. It was pretty good – not the best *barbecue* burger I’ve had, but still a great burger. The curly fries are great, and they have pepsi, which keeps my wife happy. The interior is… kind of flat and boring. The booths have tape holding the seats together from where countless children have probably sat(or stood, like mine). Kind of reminds you of Denny’s. Overall though, I’d choose good food for a good price at an old restaurant over a new place that’s spic and span but had bad food. I like it.

I have loved his place since I was little. The hamburgers are bigger than a plate. Over the years I have noticed that they are getting thinner and thinner. The price has gone up up up too. I don’t really care much I guess I’m emtionally attached to the place.

Stopping by Red Top to eat some burgers before going to a CC Tigers game has been a tradition in my family for many years. I was very glad to be able to return to that tradition last time I visited Colorado! I’m pleased to report that absolutely nothing at Red Top has changed. It’s the same menu. The same staff(for the most part). And the same DELICIOUS burgers. Note to the weak(like me): Order a HALF. The WHOLE is really huge. Way too much food.

Craving a big, fat, juicy… hey, hey, hey now, get your mind out of the gutter… burger and decided to go to Conway’s after reading some reviews on Unilocal. Was I satisfied, ehhhh. These burgers are big in diameter but the patty was super thin. It was yummy but just not the big, fat, juicy hunk of meat thick patty kinda burger my stomach was asking for. Ordered onion rings/fries and they were just bleh. Won’t order them again. I like my fried food crispy and they needed to be in the deep fryer for a few more minutes for me. Remember, when other Unilocalers say HUGE burger, they mean really big bun with a very thin patty. I’m still on my quest to find a burger joint in the Springs that just screams MMMMEEEEAAAAAT!

Very tasty bugers and huge in size. I had to split one and when we placed our order, no attitude at all. Burger actually came out on two plates nicely sliced in half and our frings(onion rings and fries) were also split up.

This is hard, but I have to admit that even though Conways has great all American burgers just like I used to get at family parties in the midwest, burgers are not going to be a four or a five for me in a restaurant. There will be many that rate these higher and I will leave it to them. Suffice it to say if I was to eat a burger in the Springs, I’d eat it at Conways, no doubt. Juicy, with the perfect toppings and fixings. It tastes beefy, juicy, and they have the absolutely essential slice of tomato, pickle cheese – take it or leave it I say – , and the fries are that hot, potatoey but nearly limp style, leaving them to actually have the perfect earthy potato flavor. Yummm! Top it off with a sweet caffienated soda and there, I broke my diet.

If you’re looking for the classic, greasy hamburger, any one of the Red Tops are for you. And it is on a galactic scale. You will not have to worry about getting enough with the standard cheese burger, I have to limit myself to the half size, as the full size will leave me over stuffed. Also, for health’s sake, I can only eat one about four times a year. Good thing these places are an hour away from my house. I have to leave the wife at home; she overloads a lot quicker than I do. Everyone has to try these marvels of creation at least once in their life.

Great place. Giant señor burger is your order. Huge burgers, great fries, melty cheese. Wonderful service, friendly people. I mean hell, John McCain likes it; it must be good for your heart.
Looks like your typical greasy spoon inside, but the burgers, wow! When the burger first came out I did not think much of it, yeah bigger than what I can eat or want to eat, but that changed after it was gone. The thing that gets us is the burgers have a crisp outer texture but are pink inside. I was just visiting Springs, but I wanted to go back the next day, then again. Don’t bother with the Onion rings, the fries are much better. I love Red Robin and In-n-Out burgers, but Red Top puts another level out there. I would put on another 50lbs if Red Top was near my house in CA.

This is a classic/old fashioned hamburger. If you’re looking for something«gourmet» or even«healthy» this probably isn’t the place you should go. You could easily feed 4 people(assuming fries and a salad was part of the dinner) on one«full» burger.(I had a half, and honestly I kind of regretted eating that much.) The atmosphere isn’t much to write home about, but the service was prompt and the wait staff was very friendly. With all the chain restaurants in Colorado Springs it’s nice to see some place that isn’t a national(or multi-state) chain surviving. Price wise it seemed pretty decent to me. You get a lot for a reasonable amount of money.(Their shakes are good as well!) The burgers are noteworthy. Fairly decent amount of options for a burger place as well. Worth a shot if you’re looking for something different. Bring some friends.

Forget what you’ve heard or seen about big hamburgers. If you have not been to Conway’s, I guarantee you haven’t seen a big hamburger. Don’t argue with me on this. And I will fight you, that’s no lie. They have their 8″ diameter buns made special, because no bun manufacturer would be crazy enough to market/promote such a cardiac-arrest-inducing meat-catcher. Are you fascinated yet? What’s wrong, not big enough for yah? Keep reading, you sicko. I calculate that they must use 4 slices of(what tastes like Velvetta) cheese, and it just drips out the edges. 5 tomato slices barely cover the patty, and you could make 2 dinner salads from the amount of lettuce used on this bad boy. Wow. I’m hungry and nauseous all at once. I know what you’re asking, though. Especially if you’re American and you’re disturbed — Yes, I do believe they will double-up the patty for you if you ask them to. But you disgust me. How do you live with yourself? «One’s a meal!» is a frequently used motto about Conway’s Red Top hamburgers. And I think it’s the biggest understatement in the world. «One’s a cow» would be a far more appropriate motto. I love this place. I have happy childhood memories from here. I may have also suffered severe heartburn here. I don’t care. I will return. There’s only 2 Red Tops in the entire world, and they’re both in the Springs. I would like to open one here in SC, and make a million dollars. Yes, just a million. Then I’m out.
