This stores selection is definitely geared toward older women. I stopped in one evening and no one acknowledged me at all. I pretty much just browsed and was ignored. Won’t be going back to this shop.

I’m in my mid-twenties and I think this shop receives a lot of consignments from much older women but I still found a few things to try on by brands I like. Very reasonable prices! The price tag structure is a little confusing at first since there are multiple prices listed but it’s a simple system really. To consign you need an appointment and at least 5 things clean and on hangers. Most of all, the ladies working there are sweet as can be and very helpful!

My experience is that their consignment period is 6 mths. They keep 60% while you only keep 40%. Your contract is done and you call about the pickup week they wrote originally on your contract… well good luck; they’ll tell you that they will be pulling your remaining items sometime during then and let you know. So you think, well I can come in and pull them… no, not unless you would like them to charge you $ 2 per item. I will not be doing this again. I suggest Little London Market or any other consignor. This isn’t conducive to the seller. Good place to buy only.

I recently found Encore after cleaning out my Mom’s closet. She takes exceptional care of her clothes and invested in a great wardrobe but what to do with the barely used clothes? After looking through Unilocal revives I found Encore. You can’t really draw an opinion just from the ‘net so I made an appointment and brought in half of her clothes. For a Friday morning, this place was hopping! I was helped quickly and kindly and found three great items to purchase while I was waiting for the staff to inventory my Mom’s clothes. One of the items was a barely used $ 300+ Elaine Turner purse for $ 14, a steal! Their items were of good quality, clean and the full spectrum from tank tops to ball gowns. Well worth the visit.

I’m not going to kid you — this is my mother’s shop so I’m bias but I will be honest in giving you the 411. This boutique has been at the same location for over 30 years. My mother purchased it a little over a decade ago and turned a run-of-the-mill second hand store into a high-end designer boutique for women. She carries upper-end department store brands all the way to the best of the best; we’re talking Chanel, Prada, Hermes, etc. The clothing ranges from casual wear to business and if you are going on a cruise, attending a party or a prom, she’s got a great selection of evening wear. Additionally, she holds an annual fur sale from Jan to March so if you’re not afraid of a little political incorrectness you can find great deals on these. Let’s also get real about sizes… while she does carry some 2s and 4s, she realizes that most women are a size 8 and higher and the bulk of her inventory is going to cater to this. Because she is a consignment shop, she only keeps a portion of what she sells an item for with the balance going to the original owner. When you purchase from Encore, you’re not only supporting a local small business you’re also supporting the citizens of COS — literally. I encourage any and all to stop by and take a look; you’re sure to find something to fit the most unique and discriminating of tastes.
