I’ve enjoyed eating here multiple times over the years and every time the meat has such great flavor. The atmosphere is very laid-back and fun and I look forward to our next outing to Rudy’s.

MMMMMMMMmmmRudy’s. Texas BBQ does’t get much better. In fact, the only better to get BBQ? Rudy’s in Texas! The service is strictly the self kind — grab your drinks and sides, stand in line, order your meal by meat weight. Get a big handful of sandwich bread if that’s your jam. Get a couple sheets of butcher paper with your food to serve as a plate. Sauce? On the tables, not on the meat. Pickles, onions, and peppers are gratis. Bottle openers and napkins are on the wall. Make yourself a sandwich, use a knife and fork, or just dig in. Once you are done, take your sticky fingers to the trough inside to wash(lots of faucets) and waddle your full self out to the car. I wish that this location would do the same as the Boerne one, and put the mixed meat scraps into the baked beans. That’s what really would make this a 5 star review.

The BESTBBQ chain ever!(I didn’t know it was a chain until afterwards… that’s how good it was) First off, the place is HUGE! A big, open area in the middle with a side porch and outside seating. The smell of smoke and BBQ meets you at the door and is heavenly. You grab bottled drinks(pop and beer) from ice laden tubs and grab cold sides/desserts from a cooler before the registers. The registers are where it gets interesting… Our server/cashier asked if we had ever been to Rudy’s before. When we answered«no» he gave us an orientation and samples of the brisket and a few other meats for all of us to try. They have 3 «levels» of brisket(lean, moist and carvers choice) with different fat amounts. They have a few kinds of ribs, turkey, chicken, sausages, pulled pork, pork loin… and prime rib on weekends. You order like you would at a meat counter. Prices are listed per ½ pound. Sides come as single, pint and quart sizes. They give you break to make sandwiches and the BBQ sauce is at the tables. I’d highly recommend ordering a bit of several things and sharing. The smoked foods were indescribably awesome. I didn’t even use BBQ sauce on much… it just didn’t need it! If you like real smoked BBQ and you’re thinking about it… GO! You won’t be disappointed…

This was every bit as good as the Rudy’s that I tried in Austin. I’d recommend it for some good BBQ.

I like Rudy’s as its a solid place to get BBQ but its not my favorite in the Springs. There are a few places that are better. The prices are a bit high but they have smoked pork tenderloin which is rare. The sauces are good and the sides are good as well. The meat is above average, the location can be difficult at times. Service has always been great and the building is spacious. Their catering is nice too. Most people love it but its about 3 on the list of BBQ in the springs for me.

LOVE the BBQ here! This is a chain along the southwest, but is one that gets it exactly correct, IMHO. Brisket comes in two styles: wet and lean. The wet brisket is good, but a little fatty. The lean brisket is excellent. Not too moist, but has an excellent flavor. You order by the pound(or portion thereof). Tell the person at the counter how much you want and they will get you fixed up. Slices of bread are offered for free… just tell them how many slices you wish to have. They have a wide variety of side dishes available too. Cheesy corn was good, as was the new potatoes and the potato salad. The peach cobbler was out of this world! The sweet tea was pretty good too. Chairs and tables are available in the main part of the building, but the patio is really nice in the right weather. Country music is playing throughout the building, so relax and enjoy the good food! I’ve been to two different locations and have to say, this place is definitely worthy of a stop. Fill up with BBQ and fuel at the gas pumps. Highly recommended.

Great Texas Style barbeque! They smoke their meats perfectly. I have heard, but not sure if its true, that they actually import their wood from Texas so it has that unique flavor. I have been to the original and every time I eat at Rudy’s i feel like i am right back there again. It is consistently good! The brisket is a must! try all the sauces. i wish i could talk them into opening a store a little farther north!

I am a BBQ fiend. No matter where I travel I am seeking GREATBBQ. I have traveled the world but still always have my favorites. The Salt Lick and Blacks BBQ’s in Austin TX and of course Rudy’s BBQ. I have been to Rudys by Fort Bliss TX and now the one in Colorado Springs. I always go to my standby. Turkey and dry brisket. Don’t get me wrong their chicken and sausage are also great, but something about my favs just gets me every time… Yummy. Fun, casual dining, clean dining rooms, friendly and helpful staff. If you want a BBQ experience, then you have to try Rudys! I have converted many BBQ virgins at Rudys BTW! ;)

Good BBQ… tried the brisket, both types of sausage, ribs, pulled pork along with several sides. All were very delicious. The front line was out of sync on the night we went and they yell back the orders so it’s very confusing and loud. Personally I do not like it when places yell the orders back.

I always love this place. The BBQ is fantastic and at a low price relatively. The only sad point is they are not in Denver.

A lot of people I know in Denver rave about this place. I’m not huge on BBQ so I reluctantly agreed to go when my boyfriend mentioned his favorite BBQ place was in the Springs, where we happened to be vacationing. I have to say, this place is amazing. We ended up visiting multiple times during our stay. We tried the pulled pork, the chicken, the turkey, and both times I got the jalapeño sausage. Their regular BBQ sauce is perfectly spicy. Their potato salad is creamy and delicious. creamed corn was very good too, and we tried both the banana and chocolate pudding, both were a perfect little sweet. I loved that the weigh out the meat in front of you, and the service is friendly, fast, and helpful. I also have to compliment them on their sweet tea! I wish they had a Rudy’s closer to the Denver Metro area. But for now, we’ll either have to travel way south, or way north, but it will be worth the trip!!!

Rudy’s barbecue knows what their doing. My family and my brother jn law’s family were really hungry and wanted to feast. We ordered the moist brisket, and turkey which came with a loaf of bread, potato salad and coleslaw. The brisket was very moist, very flavorful. Tou can taste the smokiness of the meat. The turkey was not dry at all. The best thing about rudy’s is they have their own barbecue sauce, it was amazing! It comes it a mild and a spicy one!

I tried this place out after hearing and reading all the great reviews… It was absolutely amazing! While we were waiting in line, they gave us a free breakfast burrito to try. It was great! The turkey was moist. The ribs were my favorite. The moist brisket was great. The peach cobbler was UNBELIEVABLYDELICIOUS! You’ve gotta try it

Colorado Springs is largely a franchised wasteland of culinary disappointment. As a food enthusiast, I generally cook at home, hit up some of the few great local spots or save my appetite for when I travel. After resisting the hype about Rudy’s for years I finally gave in and went for dinner. You walk in and are hit with a smokey sweetness and great vibe — reminded me of big BBQ places in Texas and Oklahoma. Fast and friendly service. You order at the counter and the cashier turns around and gets your food from guys chopping up fresh meat right of the smoker behind them. We ordered Jalapeño sausage, moist brisket, which of course is code for fat!(skip the lean brisket — you’re not here to eat healthy — just enjoy yourself and eat a salad the next day), smoked(not baked) potato with butter, sour cream, cheese and your choice of meat. We went with turkey and it was moist and delicious. Sides were cole slaw and creamed corn. No plates — the meat is served on butcher paper and their BBQ sauce is the perfect balance of heat and sweet. I didn’t try the«sissy sauce» well, cuz I ain’t one! Hype held true! Food great, service great, vibe great. 5 stars and not one thing to complain about.

Stopped in for dinner at 5lm on a saturday night. The line was literally out the door so I knew we had made the right decision. I ordered ½ pound pulled pork with a side of their new potatoes and corn on the cob. My husband ordered the smokey turkey breast with creamed corn. BBQ was amazing but I wasn’t too impressed with the sides they offer. The corn had a different taste to it and it was a little tough, now granted it’s not corn season right now but I think it was overcooked. The new potatoes were ok. They give you free bread to make your own BBQ sandwiches and they have a huge fixing bar. I would definitely go back again but skip the corn!

After a great day of hiking close by, I had noticed this place and couldn’t wait to try it! They let me taste both the chicken and the turkey, and they were both really moist and tasty. I picked the half chicken. They gave me BBQ sauce to go, and I also found some peppers on the little fixin’s bar before leaving that I added to my order. The entire place smells so good, it was hard not to eat everything at once! While eating a little in the parking lot before driving home, I almost wanted to go back in and get the turkey too! The prices are great and totally reasonable. The inside is kind of dark inside and they have these huge communal tables. Everyone who works there is super nice. I will definitely come back again! I am so glad I have some leftovers for tomorrow!

I was just in Texas last week… where I ate BBQ. In fact, I ordered almost the same exact thing in Texas last week that I did at Rudy’s, and everything at Rudy’s was better. My turkey was smoky, moist, flavorful and delicious. The slaw was tangy and crunchy. The beans were smoky, warm and the perfect accent to my meal. The sausage was to die for… especially paired with the texture of the soft, white bun. The entire Rudy’s experience far exceeded my expectations, despite the fact that the place came highly recommended by a friend of mine who I would consider the utmost authority on BBQ(in my world, at least). In other words, I expected greatness, but this was greater greatness than I imagined. I was surprised at how big the place was. It’s huge, and the line was long when we arrived. They run it like a well oiled machine, however, and we were at the counter in no time. I swooped a small container of coleslaw and a banana pudding out of the cooler, and grabbed myself a diet root beer(in a glass bottle! not sure why I find that so exciting) before heading to the counter. Our meat was all sliced fresh to order and weighed out on the counter in front of us before being placed in a large tray for us to carry to our table. I helped myself to pickles and onions at the pickle and onion station, then chowed down. It was one of those meals where every few bites, you feel the need to tell whoever you’re with how good the meal is. I decided to save my dessert for later since we were in a hurry to get to a concert and I wasn’t going to have time to savor it. When I finally got a chance to try my banana pudding, I figured it would be kinda warm and not that great, but I was wrong. It was some of the best banana pudding I’ve ever had… and banana pudding is my favorite food EVER. I think I made that tiny cup of pudding last about 20 minutes, and when it was over, I was soooo sad. I wish Rudy’s was closer to Denver because I’m already counting down until I can get my next fix.

Ok went back in for breakfast tacos… Seriously f-ing delicious. You can get all sorts of combos. I went with chorizo, bacon and eggs. It was seriously good. My wife had jalapeño sausage, bacon and egg– solid party in my mouth. I love breakfast burritos and Rudy’s has some great choices for meat and their bacon is delicious. Stop by and give breakfast a try.

My husband and I truly enjoyed Rudy’s. We were on our way to an eatery in Manitou Springs when we saw the sign for Rudy’s. Now my husband and I consider ourselves BBQ connoisseurs. We have been to many BBQ joints across the US including Pappy’s in St Louis and Arthur Bryant’s in Kansas City. We have been to everything from Dickey’s, to Lucille’s to smokers on the side of a country road. Newbies: This was our first time at any Rudy’s. We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t busy. We were warmly greeted by a friendly meat helped who allowed us to sample the turkey, brisket and peach cobbler. My husband and I ordered turkey, lean brisket, ribs, jalapeño and regular sausages, banana pudding and sweet tea. I didn’t feel like I was supposed to know the menu and I didn’t feel pressured to make any rash decisions. Newborns: The restrooms were decent here and had a changing table. We didn’t have an issue wheeling around our stroller, but as I said it was early on a weeknight so it wasn’t crowded. I was able to get water from the fountain soda machine and my baby slept the whole time. So for the food: My husband loved the ribs. The turkey was probably my favorite and it was definitely the best BBQ turkey I have had. The lean brisket was pretty bomb too. I thought the regular sauce was a nice compliment to the brisket and turkey and helped bring out the smoky flavor without being too overwhelming. The sweet tea was perfectly sweet for us and I loved it even more with a little lemon squeeze. The banana pudding was a nice finish to the meal. The real bananas kept it chunky and the wafers gave it some crunch. We also ended up getting gas since we needed it. We will absolutely be back. Maybe having some to go containers around would be helpful since we didn’t finish all of our food.

I am kind of surprised by all the 5 start reviews. This is not 5 star BBQ — and if you think it is you are wrong. The Brisket was ok — it was really fatty — which sometimes I get, but it was to the point where it probably needed some more time in the smoker. The baby back ribs would have been excellent a day ago — but they were past their prime — very dry. The jalapeño sausage was a big disappointment too — the casing was tough and gross, not what a properly smoked sausage should have. Cole slaw was cabbage and carrot — very dry. Their sauce was good… I was in the springs for work so was here on a Tuesday — place was pretty empty. The gal at the register was very polite, and talked me through their menu.
