My husband’s family came to visit and they wanted a local restaurant and not a chain restaurant to eat at. My mother-in-law is pretty much allergic to everything and always had to order off gluten-free menus, which they don’t offer here. The breakfast was ok. It wasn’t bad but I feel like it could gave been better. It’s missing that«thing» that makes you want to go back again. Service was ok. I’d say just give the place a shot and see if it’s for you.

The Swiss Ortega Burger was AMAZING. It’s so simple yet I think that was one of my most favorite burgers I’ve ever had. I’ll come back again and again just for that. Then there’s the fact that their prices are unbeatable for the quality of the food. My SO’s and I’s bill was just 20 $ and we were both full and happy afterward, with no complaints. That’s amazing for a sit down of its stature. I cant say anything else but good about Rudy’s. I love this place! Go go go!

Just got done eating what I would like to describe as texmex it was good not great don’t get me wrong I just thought it would be more traditional style mexican. Another thing the place is super hidden so keep your eyes open the restaurant blends in with the homes around it. Also its not a big deal but the hostess came across as rude she was going to seat us and I asked if we could get a spot next to a window and she just starred at me as if it was a bother for her to seat us a few tables over next to a window I’m sorry that I’m from out of town and want to enjoy the view seriously it was not a big deal it’s was good but I probably won’t come back next time I’m visiting

Yum! I loved the Migas with beans. Nice view, friendly staff. We missed the driveaway first time past but it’s definitely turning around for!

This place is truly a gem. Spectacular view and home made chips and salsa make it hard to beat. Great prices, friendly staff and a great patio. I really enjoyed eating here. Thanks to the hotel front desk agent for the recommendation! :)

Absolutely delicious Authentic food! I’m very picky when it comes to Mexican food and has too be Authentic as I’m Hispanic. Hands down on their hot sauce, carnita tacos and fajitas were AaaaaMAZING!!! And my «white-cracker» husband thought the food was awesome too! Definitely worth the drive from Denver!

I would say that the food is pretty much a 3 – 4 star depending upon what you do order. I’ve had great food there and then basically just mediocre. We have been there about 4 times. It is easy to miss if you don’t look quickly going down 8th street hill on your right. The staff are always friendly, but move at a snails pace sometimes. I think they need more help due to all the customers. The service is very slow at breakfast, and with our party of 4 one time half of us got our food and the other half were nearly done when the others got served. Waited on the check along time by myself as the other party left to be on time to work. I gave it 3 stars only for the food.

We still love their food, but service was the issue on our last visit. I think they were short a server & also seemed that servers had tables inside and outside on the deck. If you were short-staffed, just station your servers either inside or outside. They can’t watch their tables or give good service having tables all over the place.(I was in the restaurant business for a while.) Also, have your servers tell us at the start they are short staffed. We sat for about 15 minutes before anyone came over. We got our beverages in about 5 minutes. We got our food 45 minutes later. Other folks sitting around us were also frustrated, but their food is too good to turn away, so we all were very patient & actually were joking that we’d share our food! It would be a good idea to have a manager walk around(hustling — like the servers were) checking on tables, saying they are short staffed(even in the kitchen) & then possibly comp the food?!? That works pretty good! Also, they usually have Wi-Fi & it was not working that day.

Absolutely amazing, authentic Mexican-American breakfast at awesome prices. The chilaquiles were amazing and the green chile sauce was flavorful without melting your face. The Texas Scramble was wonderfully seasoned, and the peppers/onions/tomatoes were fresh and still had the perfect amount of crispness. At 10 on Thursday morning, we were one of only two tables of diners, but the waitstaff took great care of us. Highly recommended.

Cute environment, open patio area to over look the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The food was not what I would consider authentic, but still somewhat flavorful. We waited for over 15 minutes for service, however staff was very friendly. I would come back, but not if I had somewhere to be.

It is a tradition now that when we come to Colorado Springs to visit my brother and wife, we have to have a late breakfast at Rudy’s. I thought it was time to update my review and report on our latest visit. We sat outside on the deck, this time and used one of Ms T’s Table Wedges to stabilize the table. I ordered a special that was announced on the board on the way in. It was some kind of special Huevos Rancheros and was excellent. It was covered with their green chile which I really like. I had some chorizo on the side to go with it. Bro J frequently orders the Chorizo Stack and it looks great as well. All were accompanied by very good frijoles. Ms T ordered chilaquiles with red. This is not something I would recommend. You need to stick with Rudy’s very good green chile. The red is just not chile. It is more like something red, thickened with flour. It has very little flavor. They are not very good at making chilaquiles, they use chips instead of frying up tortillas, and consequently they are the wrong texture. They were soggy immediately. Rudy’s is a good place to get Southwestern style«Mexican» food. I have always liked my food. We have always only been there for breakfast. You need to stick with what they do best; green chile, eggs, chorizo.

Been here twice. This time was not good for lunch. Lots of Mexican items for breakfast. Lunch was mostly salads and burgers. Not what I was expecting. Service was casual and friendly.

This is the best Mexican food I’ve had since I’ve lived in Colorado! I have been searching for 3 years to find something like this! I’m from San Diego, CA, so I feel like I have at least some credibility on the subject ;) The Mexican omelette is perfect with refried beans and tortillas, and the enchiladas are amazing. So is anything covered in their green sauce! This is by far the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the Springs. Also, Rudy and his staff are super sweet and helpful!

I love Rudy’s!!! I come here at least once a week for lunch. I always get the green chili smothered carne asada burrito at lunch, and the chimichangas at dinner! I have tried a lot of their menu and have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered. The staff is extremely polite and kind, and the fireplace gives it a nice ambience. Service is generally fast and responsive. The only thing I don’t like is the driveway leading into the place… All I can say is take it at an angle, if you like your front bumper.

I was excited to try this place because we love Mexican food and this place has a good rating. I ordered Xmas enchiladas, taquitos, rice n beans. This food was mediocre. So I was totally let down cuz we’re on the hunt for great Mexican food. The margarita, chips n salsa gave me high hopes because they were great. Sooo ya still on the hunt for great Mexican food.

We didn’t even know this place existed, but saw it when driving by and are glad we did. The chips and salsa were good(you may have to ask for them, we didn’t get any until we did). I probably would only come here for breakfast, their lunch Mexican selection looked pretty limited. A lot more ground beef as the meat then I would have expected, such as the breakfast burritos, but very good.

We were on this side of town this weekend and decided to stop by for dinner. Once again we weren’t disappointed. Top notch food with great service. They are usually or go to place for breakfast but they pulled off dinner without any issues at all. Or only problem with them is we tend to over eat dude to how great the food is. Put it this away no food was left behind when all left and for 3 people we only paid around $ 33 for it all including one margarita.
