Wasn’t expecting great pizza just came across a deal on Groupon. The pizza was great, reminded me of when I lived in Downtown Los Angeles thin crust a little greasy but was good. The buffalo wings were great as well far above average. Will be my new local pizzeria.

Called in an order for 2 subs. Was told that our order would be ready in 15 – 20 mins. 40 minutes later and our food still wasn’t ready. They said they were understaffed but yet the one guy making the food had time to take a smoke break and didn’t start making our food until we got there. Have tried going there in the past and had the same problem. if you aren’t very hungry and have time to wait the food is pretty decent.

So I’m driving to a job in colton and I exit rancho north off the 10 freeway. As I’m driving I get super excited because I see«Bonello’s NY Pizza». Now if you’ve ever been to San Pedro and had Bonello’s Pizza on gaffey st, you would know what I’m talking about! I wanted 2 slices if cheese pizza. I grew up in Long Island NY and after graduating high school moved to Lowell Massachusetts. Pretty much every pizza joint sells pizza by the slice there.(Also at the real Bonello’s in San Pedro). Of course, I was disappointed because they do not sell pizza by the slice here. So I ordered a sort of personal pizza which is 4 slices of an oblong shaped pizza. I can tell you honestly, it was the worst pizza I have probably ever had. Von’s sells better pizza in the frozen section of their store! The sauce is under seasoned and tastes like it’s from a can. The cheese is either frozen or not real mozzarella. The only saving grace is the crust. Barely! I was EXTREMELY disappointed. The best NY pizza in SoCal is still the original Bonello’s in San Pedro.(9th and Gaffey, in case you’re in the area!!)

I didn’t expect much of the place since it was in Colton(stereotypical, I know) but when I walked in I was a little sketched out by the«dining room.» The tables and chairs didn’t look very nice and you could see the tablecloth was dirty. Service was very good. I had called in my order and she answered my questions and took my order very quickly. My pizza wasn’t ready when I came in but she gave me an approximation of when it’d be ready and told me to take a seat. I got a Medium Pineapple Pizza to-go. Since this place serves New York style pizza I expected the crust to be thin, but the crust was only thin under the toppings. The crust at the edge was no different from a pizza from Pizza Hut or Papa John’s. That was a automatic no-no for me since San Biagio’s New York style pizza in Upland was thin all around. The sauce and cheese was average. The best thing about this pizza is that they added a bunch of pineapples which most pizza places lack.

Finally made it to their new location and I have to say, I am not impressed. I was really looking forward to having an incredible meal. The«dinning room» looks like a factory cafeteria with bright fluorescent lighting and the iron security gate pulled in front of one of the doors as if they were about ready to close(it was 6:00 at night.) Interesting a pizza/Italian restaurant with no wine or beer. Also the«B» rating from the health department was a bit discerning. Everyone we spoke to was very pleasant and the service was good, as was the food, just good, nothing to write home about. The garlic knots I had heard so much about were cold and tasteless. Very disappointed as I had pictured in my mind hot, chewy, garlicky morsels. Here we are in the middle of dinner time and we are the only table! It was obvious by the language and noises coming from the back that they are not used to having dining room«visitors.» My wife had ordered the lasagna and she said it was okay. I had ordered the white spaghetti which was described on the menu as being prepared with burnt butter and the actual dish was certainly drenched in butter, but I would not say it was burnt, browned or even lightly sauteed. We each did have a side salad which was plentiful and served with sliced black olives and sliced peperoncini peppers, grated cheese and a nice balsamic vinaigrette.

Had the Sausage Penne Arrabbiata. Very good dish. Pasta cooked al dente, just the way it should be. Just enough spice and garlic. Have had the pizza before, best around. Every time I’ve come to Bonellos I’d gotten some some really well flavored dishes. Only complaint! We need more«New York» stuff. They’re playing kola 99.9? When you’re talking about New York you gotta play some frank. Or at least put some Yankees or Mets… Or even rangers décor(I know, who cares about hockey? But rangers are New York so whatevs). Great food. More New York.

My friend had the torpedo sandwich I had the pizza with pepperoni and italian sausage. My friend was raving about how good the sandwich was. I actually prefer deep dish pizza, however, this pizza was just full of flavor and goodness. The texture of the crust was just right. Some dough, some crispiness, and very delicious! The sausage is not crumbles, but sliced… mmm. I am totally a fan of Bonello’s. Oh and the size of the sandwich was very generous. Definitely worth the price.

Food: Our first visit at the new location. The food is excellent as always. Have not ordered delivery so don’t know if that is good or bad but dined in and the food was great. Service: Excellent. Atmosphere: Much bigger and nicer than before.

Massive drop in food quality and delivery times since the move to Colton. Very sad about this, since this was one of my favorite pizza places when they were located in Grand Terrace. Ordered tonight at 6:44PM, was told to expect delivery in around 40 minutes. The delivery finally showed up at 8:20PM!!! That’s insane — almost 2 hours? When the food did arrive, it was not up to the same quality that it had been back in the Grand Terrace location. Very sad to say I’m not interested in ordering from Bonello’s anymore. Edit: One other note — I suspect they may have had a complete staff turnover since moving. Placing my order took around 15 minutes, with lots of «hold on please» pauses while the person on the other end of the line figured out how to input into the system what I was asking for(not complex, by the way, unless«Thousand island dressing with the salad» is complex). This«hold on please» pause was pretty irritating given that I was placing a fairly simple order for salads and wings.

Ordered delivery since they’ve moved and now takes closer to 1 ½ hours to get food. If it is going to be that long don’t say 45 minutes. Just be honest to the customers. Not sure about this new location. :(

I moved from New Jersey to California 10 years ago and I’m searching for good Jersey Pizza. this place is really close to good Jersey pizza. they just moved from there a location to the Colton location have been open only a week and I found the place really dirty. food is good but I question the ambiance and cleanliness of the new place. The windows were really dirty… Does that mean the kitchen is also really dirty? Hopefully they are reading the reviews and will get a Crew in to scrub it clean. This will drive customers away.
