Don Chente

im giving this 1 star because the only good thing here was the soda… the lady behind the counter was in a very bad mood… will never ever be back here again

The price to taste ratio is way off, meaning the food is priced too high to be serving low quality food, I got a carne asada burrito all that came in it was carne and it was way to salty. The salsa bar has a good variety, but again lacks flavor, and some were salty and none were spicy at all. The Diet Coke was on point though… I definitely can’t recommend this place based on the food I’ve had and won’t go back to try anything else.

No recomiendo este Restaurante. Trabaje varios años en el y la cantidad de contaminación es peligrosa ya que el cocinero corta carne vegetales mariscos y verduras. En el área serca del lava platos. Y es extremadamente susio cuando corta la carne salpica los platos limpios con sangre de pollo o de res o mariscos y en su área de trabajo tiene carne tirada por todos lados y para colmo del descaro deja pedazos de carne pegado a los platos limpios. Yo no denuncie a este asqueroso. Por que me decía que el después del manager el manda. La cantidad de cucarachas es mucha ase poco fue el fumigador ay moscas pelos en el piso bolas de pelos. Que yo mismo recoji pero esto no es todo el cocinero rara vez se lava las manos. Y muy seguido entra al baño. Prepara los alimentos con las manos sucias yo lo e visto meter los dedos en los platos con caldo caliente que después la mesera yebar al cliente. El dueño no sabe de este cocinero asqueroso. Yo lo estoy denunciando para que lo investiguen. Lo peor es que la manager sabe de este cocinero asqueroso y no lo corre si alguien del público comió en este Restaurante y se enfermo. No se queden callados denuncien.

Besides the good horchata, it was horrible. First there was a ripped rubber band in the chips. Then my order came and the buche smelled a lot and didn’t not have a good taste. First and last time here. Very disgusting

This was my first time going, the food was fairly good but my bestfriend and i were attacked by flies, we had to scarf our food down so they wouldnt land on it. We and other patrons started killing them and one landed on her straw. Like i said fairly good food but it was attack of the flies. customer service was ok.

Stopped by after hitting the swap meet! Place is decorated nice but food isn’t all that. Ordered the taco plate and a burrito. Tacos are ok but the rice was just bad and the beans had too much cotija cheese. My husband didn’t like his burrito he’s had better. Service was ok!

A lil pricey for mexican food. The food is ok. I ended up just having a burger and it was fine but i’d probably go elsewhere for a burger or mexican food.

We went here for my birthday lunch. They got our order completely wrong. The only thing they did to fix the issue was ring us up for their mistakes. Food came out wrong as well. It was dry and pretty much the worst Mexican food I have had. I was very disappointed, especially for the price. We will never be back.

This place had a fall from grace. It was so good, such great service. For some reason the last 2 times i went it was just awful. The service was lousy, and i dont know how you cant simply not put carrot and corn in burrito. I mean on two different ocassions and multiple times come on. I understand people make mistakes, but if i have to return in my burrito 3 times each visit thats B.S. to add to that the carne asada full of «nervios» had me pretty dissapointed. I hope they go back to the way things were then ill glady be a regular again.

I had a hard time ordering because I don’t speak Spanish. I ordered off the menu above the register, which has pictures, and when the food came to my table, I was surprised the food didn’t come with rice or beans like I thought. The picture was located next to the price, but they wouldn’t honor it.
The food wasn’t half bad, but I wasn’t blown away. I ordered the chicken flautas.
I won’t be eating here again. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in the area that are more inexpensive. I figured the customer service would be better for that reason, but oh well! Skip this place and look for others in the area.

I went on Taco Tuesday but my tacos were not $ 1. They were delicious and served fairly quickly though. I’d go back.

Ok so I wanted some gorditas and this place was nearby, I read some of the reviews and decided to give it a try.
It’s the cleanest short-​order Mexican food restaurant I’ve ever been in. I ordered tacos (it was Taco Tuesday) and the gordita. I loved the tacos but the Gordita was not prepared to my expectations (there was too much dough and it wasn’t cooked to a crisp)
They do have a salsa bar, it was clean and stocked. The Horchata and Jamica was good, you do get chips and salsa once you pick where to sit. I thought it was cool that they chill the glass-​water cups (like if you ask for water… it’s so refreshing)
I will definitely return to try more of their items. They have Tortas, cocktails, molcajetes and desserts that looked very appetizing.

First time here and last. My family and I ordered pambasos, Gorditas and huaraches. The pambasos were wet with can sause instead of the traditional guajillo sause.. The Masa for the huarache and Gorditas was hard and couldn’t even eat it. Also it took for ever to get our order. The only thing I liked was that the place was clean.

This place has been Delicious the last two times I have eating here .big menu selection and pertty authentic mexican… I cant wait to eat here again. service not bad .but I go for the food .it good.

I’ve only tried their potato flautas and tortas, both very good. I used to come twice a week and spend at least $ 30 but they started forgetting the avocados in my hubbys tacos or the asada meat was super greasy. I gave it another try recentky and food was good again but every nite I’ve tried calling my order (five times so far) the phone is busy. One time I got there abd told the cashier and she acted dumb so I called in front of her and she said ‘oh we must of disconnected in accident’ mmmm every night huh??? Don’t these employees know that if the business closes due to lack of business they won’t have a job or a pay check. Very disappointed.

The food is very good and tastes authentic (real live Mexican here). I had the molcajete supreme, which comes with carne asada, grilled chicken, chorizo, shrimp, nopales, aguacate (avocado), and cheese. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great, but they are stingy with the tortillas.
My only issue is the iffy service. We didn’t get menus until I went to ask for them at the counter, the servers didn’t come around to check on us or refill our drinks, and when we finally used the obnoxious buzzer to get someone, they forgot to bring what I asked for.
The pricing is reasonable, and overall Don Chente is a pleasant place to eat.

Stumbled upon here after seeing some mascot guy dressed up. It was taco Tuesday so dollar taco. I ordered about 3 which were carne asada, pollo and al pastor. All are very good. They aren’t stingy with the meat either! Good customer service and good clean salsa bar! I asked for a cup of water and they actually chill the water cups which keeps the water nice and cold! Call me weird but I never had a restaurant so that before lol

Great food. I love their Spanish rice. I also chow down on their Flautas, Nachos and Enchiladas. Great customer service and decent pricing. They also serve beer there for the drinkers out there. Atmosphere is cozy and chill.
I told my friend that they have a Don Chente in Colton and then I guess he forgot and my co-​worker told him about it. So, I didn’t get the credit for that great find… I hate when that happens.
Check them out though. Parking is decent, not that many spots but enough to eat and go.

I work in the area occasionally and the guys have picked up carne asada a few times and it was good. Today the crew wanted to sit down for lunch so we went and ordered lunch. I had the shrimp cocktail it was loaded with big shrimp and was fresh and tasty. I also had the carnitas tacos and the meat was lean and tender… I will repeat :)

Not so great. Two ppl got bad stomach problems after eating here. Food poisoning of some sort. Hope it was just this one time.

I applaud this place as their menu is extensive and offers many options that you won’t find elsewhere. However; I agree with Ramsey’s previous review in that this place just seems to lack flavor.
My Wife and I ordered a huarache with asada and a sope with pastor. Portions are very generous and while the meats themselves are cooked properly; they just lack flavor, seriously bland. It’s as if the salt and pepper are missing here.
I feel bad leaving such a low rating but until Don Chente can get the flavor going, you might as well save your money and eat elsewhere.
