Ok, this store was strange and had some weird stuff. It felt like I was in a store from my childhood and maybe in a foreign country, not sure how to explain that, maybe the lighting or the layout kind of took me back. I was happy at first, feeling like I had found a really unusual treasure of a weird store. There were odd things here for sure and tacky stuff but nothing that really caught my eye even as something cheesy or kitschy. Still, I was ok with it. I liked the tablecloth plastic by the foot and the large amount of pet things. But then I got to the food. I wish I could go lower than 1 star. I noticed expired baby food and many other items well past the sell by and best by dates. I saw a box of crackers from more than 1 year past the best by date! That was not great but at least they are dry and no one would get sick from it. Then I found expired baby food. Then I found mystery cans with no labels. Then I found expired refrigerated products such as dairy and meat. Then I found bugs in the cereal area. I saw the health inspection reports online and it’s really sad that the store constantly gets told each report to correct things they are out of compliance with, each time there is no change and they get told to fix it the next time a year later. Things like there were bugs in the food on the shelves, the store had rats, there is no adequate cleaning of the employee restrooms, no hot water or clean paper towels for employees to wash their hands, the stockroom is dirty or has vermin. In one report they were given out of compliance for packaging their own peanuts in the(vermin infested remember) stockroom in the back without a 3 part sink which is what is used to sanitize all the stuff that touches food. Yuck. Add people packaging those peanuts on non-sanitized equipment to the roaches & rodents found in the warehouse plus the lack of hand washing hot water and paper towels and dirty employee restroom noted in EVERYSINGLE inspection and you have some really risky Russian Roulette peanuts!!! The inspector noted that the temperature gauges were missing from the coolers and the temperature was incorrect. Yum. Grossest of all(to me) the attitude demonstrated by the management/owner who gets these reports and does not change his/her procedures. You would think if you get told by the county 10 times to stop selling unsafe food, unsafely dented, or unlabeled cans, you’d get the message. Nope. Somebody is making the decision to not give a sh! t about selling expired baby food and the like. That’s really disgusting business practice. Who does that?

Ok, a lot of people are dumping on store! It is what it is. Discount. Not Macy’s or Nordstrom! Any case, it’s fun; go in with open mind, buying food check dates, I used to work for Vons and they always had expired food. So hellooooo, expect if it’s there and 99 cent store and dollar tree it’s gonna be here! I love the store only reason not a five star, I feel they could work on cleaning and organizing but overall, have fun and expect to find treasures that you like!!!

Very nice place, people are friendly and they have a good deals from food to home decors. I really love this place. I’ve been a customer here since 2010. All these people who says they sell expired goods, any bargain stores do LOL because they get it like that from LA, sometimes the distributors put it together with the good dates on top. Lets just respect the business, this is my tip to you«IFYOUDON’T LIKEITDON’T BUYIT»

It’s OK. You can find some REALLY good deals if you keep an open mind and ALWAYS check the dates. I was shocked to find Winey Goat goat cheese for $ 1.49($ 7.99 at my local grocery store) and humbolt fog cheese for the same. And, they were both still fine. We bought one and went out to the car to try it first and make sure it was still good then went back in and bought more. As long as you have a discriminating eye, you’ll find worthwhile deals.

Check the food. Check the food. Check the food. I purchased a case of V8 that was a few weeks old. No worries. It will be gone in a week or two. I saw other people purchasing perishables that expired in 2013. Seriously? Why is this food even still around? Don’t get me wrong. They have some amazing deals here. It doesn’t hurt to look. Just be careful. I purchased a few cheaper items just to see how they tasted. They were fine. I’m really jazzed about the non-perishable items. They have clothing, party items, accessories, rugs, shoes, etc… These are all at great prices! I purchased a jacket that was originally priced at $ 49.99 in the stores, then $ 24.99 in this store, for only $ 14.99 with the markdown. It was perfect. Last, i know this will be hard if you get a full cart, but keep track of how much your items are off they aren’t marked. The cashiers cannot keep up with all the prices. They will guess without saying anything.

WARNING! This place should be ASHAMED!!! Everything they sell is EXPIRED!!! And not just a few days or weeks, but months. I bought crest toothpaste, got home and it was 11 months expired!!! I’m sure the active ingredients is no longer even active. I bought omega 3 vitamins, mouthwash, chocolate covered peanuts, all 8 – 12 months expired. I will NEVER shop here again. I DONOT recommend this place ATALL! A bargain isn’t worth all this.

This was only my second visit, I was purchasing items for a birthday party. It is my fault as well as I usually check dates, but usually they are still several months away. When I got home I opened a bag of cookies I had purchased and immediately the smell was foul, smelled like paint! Checked the date was best by June 12, 2013… I purchased Jan 23, 2015. I tried to call the store several times but no answer, the item was inexpensive, it’s more the principal. They shouldn’t be selling items that are no good or can make someone sick.
