See photo upload– they are no longer in business Yum Yum was not the greatest but it did deserve its purpose! The Hamburger special was delicious and consistent.

We have been stopping by Yum Yum for several years, recently we have noticed it is slipping. Today we stopped by, I had eggs, sausage and country potatoes. Eggs good, sausage over cooked, potatoes cold. Wife had French toast, had bad taste to batter, and the coffee very weak. Guess we’re going to have to find another place.

Food was ok owner was creepy!!! He stared and glared at the waitresses and customers, I felt like I was in a POW camp. He went out of his way to be mean to one of the waitresses several times. It was the most uncomfortable feeling ever. I would recommend never going to this place unless you like to see others degraded or you like to feel uncomfortable at a time when you should be enjoying yourselves.

Old fashioned diner-style restaurants either disappear because of «progress» or hang in there waiting to be rediscovered as diamonds in the rough. Yum-Yum is a frilless gem in an unlikely location along the service road on the 215. Moderately hard to access on account of its location it is nevertheless worth visiting for breakfast. I first started coming here a few years back and found their breakfast superior to my downtown options at Jersey Burger or Mr. T’S. Ambience? A bit run down like one of those early 70s James Bond movies in Vegas. The charm is the unassuming vibe. However, I stopped coming after being accosted by one of those pyramid scheme pushing types, not because I was unhappy with the food or service. My recent rediscovery was prompted by a dreary rainy day and I was craving steak and eggs. Cocos and IHOP are non-starters so I got my lazy butt out the door and down the freeway to exit on La Cadena. The owners, same couple since the last visit, greeted me and I sat down at the counter. They brought me coffee(pretty good here actually) and pointed out the daily specials on a chalkboard by the entrance. My pic below shows my big score. Ribeye, eggs over medium and home fries with everything(onions and peppers). I always enjoy bisquits and gravy and couldn’t remember if their rendition is good. It is. Moist bisquits and moderately thick gravy that wasn’t as salty as you might find elsewhere. The eggs were cooked perfectly(god I hate when they’re runny) and MR was achieved on the grill. Sometimes those short order line cooks are fantastic! I know, I used to be one. Although not in a convenient location, I’d recommend giving this place a try. Especially if you’ve become jaded with your same old same old tired breakfast joint.

Came here during work and one of those places that are a hole in the wall places. Breakfast specials were pretty good about $ 5.50 for eggs etc. food was pretty good and so was the service. Someone the best places are the small hole and the wall places you find. Would come here again when in the area.

I want to start off with the silver linings. The food itself was good. The waiter was good. Now to validate my somewhat merciful 2 star. Food took too long to get when me and my parents were the only ones there. Some of the furniture was damaged. The bathroom has a horrid design, you feel cramped. This place could really work on their atmosphere. I would not be surprised if they run out of business. It’s a shame because the chef can cook a decent meal and the waiter was nice.

I have always wanted to try this place, but I guess I will never get that chance. We went today and waited for someone to sit us. One person just said we will be there and then went to help someone else. Next a waitress said hello and looked around for a table, however all the tables were either dirty or being used. Then she started to clean one but then decided to fill cups of water to give to some other customer. We waited but it seemed that some people before us were just barely receiving menus and we were there for 10 minutes still waiting. We just left because nobody seemed to want to clean or give us a menu to at least look at.

folks, these restaurants rely on your reviews to tell the people where to go. Please for the sake of these restaurants, review them for the food, service, atmosphere, etc. Not for saying there open 7 days a week and you get there on Sunday and there closed… Yum, Yum was closed that Sunday, when a customer came in to eat, due to construction that had to be done. Please folks, don’t jump the gun and assume that there negligent. Please just think before you wright a bad review before you know the facts. It’s just not fair to the restaurant. My wife and I eat there many Sundays. Food and service are always excellent, there cook is by far one of the best around… Never had a bad meal in all the years we’re been going there.

We happened to be in the area and decided to eat here. I had the Yum Yum cheese burger with fries. The burger was hot, the cheese was melted, the bun toasted to perfection. Lettuce, tomato, pickles and condiments on the side so you can make it your way. My companion had a patty melt with grilled onions and fries he said it was wonderful. The fries were hot and crispy. The décor is a bit dated but with the good food it really doesn’t matter.

Last time I went in the and asked for a «Colton Grilled Pastrami», which I used to ALWAYS have ZERO problem getting, the rude owner(the Husband) told me I couldnt order this sandwich, «Not offering right now.» I could order a pastrami, or a grilled turkey w/ortega chilies. But not both of them combined. He wasnt joking either. He was just being a dick. The Wife never gave me a problem, she is nice. I used to be a regular here, but Dude made me feel like an annoyance. If I ever come back, Ill order it again, but if Im denied again, Im done here. I used to feel welcome here too. Only reason Im giving this review 2 stars instead of one is that I ordered a chorizo omelette a few days before this, and it was on point… and the staff is at least friendlier than the owner. He(the owner) also sometimes berates them in front of customers. Pancakes taste like soap. Bathrooms are gross. Place regularly closes early.

Food was average. Only one waitress working and literally running every where. Definitely needs a second waitress. Not a bad stop for a bite to eat though as long as you’re willing to wait.

Decent food… when you get it. Never show up hungry because it takes about 30 minutes to get your food. Also, asked if I could get a «soda» halfway through my meal. They didn’t ask what kind, just said yes and walked away then came back with a Pepsi.

This place is advertising to be open 24 hours but when I got here last night at 9:30pm it was closed. I’m not sure yet what is their policy or if it was just an isolated incident but from previous tips from Unilocalers I noticed it’s not a one time thing. They need to change their sign which still says open 24 hours.

I was just sold on the name instantly… we were originally going to get fast food next door but the name just lured us in. I have a huge soft spot for 50 diners like these. The prices are pretty good, most food can be shared easily, and we enjoyed pretty much everything that came out(granted– ¾ of us got a grilled cheese) The deep fried zucchini was wonderful as well and a big enough portion that three of us shared it. The Clam Chowder was decent and in a big bowl… I sadly left most of it to go to waste as it wasn’t very road trip friendly to go! The atmosphere was very cute and I love the booths. The service was very nice and friendly. It was a pleasant experience in the midst of our long drive to Yosemite.
