Came here to use a coupon for a free tan. I got some really poor service from the girl at the front desk. I asked her a few basic questions about the beds and it was like she was in pain having to answer me. She wanted to put me in bed #4 and I asked her how strong the bed was and she literally said«I don’t know» and gave me a shrug… The beds and décor also seem straight out of the 80’s. I would not go back or recommend anyone going there unless you can go for free. They should really train and educate staff better and update their interior/equipment.

After they moved from there previous location, I went to a chain tanning saloon as it was more conveniant. I have returned to Silver Beach because there customer service is much better and they dont have complicated membership packages. Only downfall is they have only one stand up bed. Can be a wait at times, over all I’d rather support the small local business than the I could care less chain.

Silver Beach Tan has moved further north. Bonus, they added more beds so there is hardly any wait times. They have changed around their system a bit. Their previous level 1 beds are now their level 2 and cost $ 30(with tax) for an unlimited month. Their level 1 beds are now not at good as before. They have no facial lamps, and there are only two of them. While they are still $ 20(plus tax) for an unlimited month, you might have a bit of a wait. Still love this place. Their workers are fun and welcoming. They constantly have deals.

Confession #1: I hit the artificial beach when I’m feeling extra Frosty the Snowwoman. Confession #2: I go to Silver Beach Tanning. This place is exactly how every tanning salon should be: no nonsense, no lines, no ridiculously orange workers. After losing my patience with tanning chains near the University of Minnesota, I was referred to Silver Beach from my roommate. This place is perfect if you are looking to avoid start-up fees and pay month by month(no binding contracts). The staff are super friendly and since it’s a small salon there are only a few different employees so they typically get to know your name. The tanning beds are clean and, again, no lines! Bottom line: go here.

ahhhh i love Unilocal!!!it took me a while to find this but im gonna go try it out right now, cheapest monthy«membership» type thing, $ 20!!! for level 1, they seemed nice over the phone and thats the best deal i heard… ill update my review when i get back!!! ok, a few hours later… this place is great!!! $ 20 for unlimited tanning for 30 days? yes please!!! and they arent the crappy plain white beds that have no facial lights… and even better, if you want to upgrade the TOPOFTHELINEBED is only $ 5 more!!! holy shit!!! haha, also they have a 20% off all lotions all the time i guess, so i spent $ 40 and got tanning lotion and a month unlimited. location is kinda confusing to get to, but when you find it you are golden, i plan on bringing as many friends as i can here, such a great deal!!! tons of beds so you dont have to wait long either!!! they will also order lotions for you if theres something you are interested in!!!

If you want no nonsense tanning at affordable rates and decent deals, then Silver Beach Tan is your place. Located in a little strip mall right off of Highway 88(AKA New Brighton Boulevard), Silver Beach Tan is tucked in at the end, so there’s plenty of parking, and they’re open until 9:00 on most days of the week, until 6:00 pm in general in the weekends. The layout is typical tanning salon with private rooms for the various level beds they have, but there are a few stand up beds near the rear door, that even though the bed itself has a private area to change, still feels a little strange to be not as enclosed as the other stand up beds with private areas. There are no hidden areas, no special displays and certainly not a spoiled staff. The staff is courteous and young, but I have never felt that the staff has ever been anything but professional, and they have not attempted to continuously up-sell me on anything once they help me make a decision on what I need. I have not witnessed any«just because you’re here for ten minutes, I don’t give a hoot» attitude like I have at other area tanning salons. The beds are usually clean, and I have actually walked in to check in while they were cleaning, and you can visually see the staff cleaning as well as smell the cleaner mix. They take pride in the cleanliness of the salon. There are hand towels and washcloths to wipe off the excess lotion, and they do offer various beauty supply for post tanning coiffing. Check out their website for monthly deals, specials and information on tanning, tanning supply and discounts. They have no hidden costs, so what you see is what you get… memberships are not required and they will accept all walk-ins. You do not need to schedule an appointment to come in and tan. I prefer Silver Beach Tan simply because I can get in and out, they recognize me when I walk in, and I’m supporting a smaller local business that goes out of it’s way to make my 15 minutes stay there, very comfortable and effortless.
