The food here is awesome! The staff was very attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Looks like they do a buffet sometimes. I was shocked by the number of vegetarian options. I had the Hara Bhara and a vegetable curry with delicious Naan. I will definitely be back!

In town for the marathon and I wanted to «carb up», so had the lunch buffet. The foods and spiciness levels were all spot-on and the restaurant had a larger-than-average food variety. Large enough to make this vegetarian happy and the price(under $ 10) was perfect.

I went for dinner tonight and this place did not disappoint! They bring out a big chip or so with three things to dip it in — all three are good. The service was a bit on the slow side, but everyone was very nice. Appetizer: Samosas — these are like Indian egg rolls. The outside is exactly like Chinese egg rolls but the inside is filled with mashed potato and other deliciousness. I liked it but I think I’ll try something else next time I come; I didn’t love it. Dinner: 2Gingers special curry with chicken and garlic naan(3 Spicy). The garlic naan has visible chunks of garlic — as an Italian I thoroughly enjoy this. The curry was really good, and quite spicy. It’s served with rice, and like most Indian food places the rice left me wanting more; I really prefer rice that sticks together. My dining partner had Biryani and said it was very good; I had a bite and I agree! One should note that any one meal ordered here comes with enough food for two normal people. Maybe I’m saying this because we had the appetizer and the naan, but we both went home with at least lunch sized portions of our meals. I had a Kingfisher beer, which I’ve never heard of. In fact, they have a handful of import beers from India. I like the variety, but I wish there was some description so I didn’t have to look them up on Beer Advocate before looking them up.

Ok, so far pretty good. The dishes are spicy yet nuanced — not bland or «off». The one misstep was ordering the chili naan a 2nd time. First time it had fresh chilies and was devine; 2nd time, they brought us naan made with red pepper flakes. When we questioned it, we were told that’s how it’s supposed to be, then that they were out of the right peppers. We ate our dinners without naan that night, and were considered mighty strange. So, just the one proviso: ask about the chili naan before you order. Otherwise their food is quite enjoyable. A nice thing to have in town. Always see friends there, too, which is a good sign, and so reminds me of our dearly departed Touch.

I so wanted to like this place. My wife and I arrived to dinner 10 minutes before they opened and were the first people in the door at 530 pm. At 600 pm, having watched the waiters wait on multiple tables of Indians and never approaching us, we got up to leave. I cannot leave a review of the food because we never saw any beyond some rote papadums left on the table. Beyond the racist(there, I said it) waiters, there were two waitresses doing nothing but setting up the buffet for the next day. No reason we should have been snubbed so completely.

My favorite Indian restaurant in Columbia! What great Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Rogan Josh. Not to mention the Naan — it is absolutely delicious and goes well with all of the dishes. Don’t forget the Chai Tea to go with your meal — you won’t regret it at all.

We have visited this establishment on several occasions now and before the transformation from Bombay.. OK I gave 2 gingers a 5 star prior to today. My husband and l were feeling Indian food therefore we headed over to 2 gingers this time we had takeout and it was horrible! I had the chicken masala and asked for heat level 5 but received like a 2⁄3 that along with my meal being absolutely greasy it was obvious that the sauce wasn’t fresh because it was runny due to breaking.. My aunt in law is from India and I know Indian food very well… next the raita was watery and flavorless I did not get any flavor or indication it was even made with yogurt it tasted like water and carrots! The chicken in the masala appeared as if it were left overs from the tandoori chicken, my meal was a mess… hubby’s could have been much better his heat level was lacking as well but far more tasteful than mine. Come on 2 Gingers you are better than this review please serve the proper heat level when asked no need to Americanize the heat we appreciate good SPICY Indian food especially for us that has traveled the world! Maybe the holiday threw you off track I know you can serve a better dish! Unfortunately you were an epic fail today!

The change of management has brought on minimal menu change. I recommend going for the lunch buffet or for a quick early dinner. Be prepared to wait a little bit on weekends. The staff is really sweet though and the food top notch. Might be my favorite Indian buffet since Punjabi Daba…

I love Indian food. In fact, I love Indian food so much that one day I want to go to India and just gorge. I watch Indian movies and pay tension to what they’re eating. Did I mention I love Indian food? I have been wanting to try out 2 gingers for a while. I was on that side of town, and so decided to treat myself there for lunch. I mean, it might be a little weird eat alone but I wanted to. The buffet is pretty decent, and had a variety of dishes that are not regular standards on most Indian restaurant buffets, which I appreciated. I particularly enjoyed the vegetable biryani. While 2 gingers won’t be my favorite restaurant in town, I will definitely pass that way again, and if you’re around and craving Indian it’s definitely a good place to try.

They have such a cute name and logo which looked sharp on the crisp white plates and bowls. I was greeted and seated immediately. Service was attentive the entire time. I had no idea what to expect when I ordered the rava dosa but was pleasantly surprised it was nothing like I envisioned. It does have some heat to it but the accompaniments helped mellow it out. The flavors worked together beautifully in this unique dish. They presented several vegan options and offered to prepare items without butter if needed. So they were very accommodating. Everything looked clean and I liked the linen napkins. The only two suggestions I have for improvement is that I would’ve liked to have seen glassware(instead of plastic) and the booth cushion had a tear in it. Regardless, I would like to go again and try some other things.

I went to 2 Gingers for the first time the other night on the recommendation of a friend who lives down the street. It did not disappoint! I got the chicken makhani(also called butter chicken) and it was delicious! My boyfriend got the chicken rogan josh and it was good as well. We are excited to go back and try more dishes! Only had a couple of minor complaints: the service is a little slow, our finished plates sat in front of us for about 15 mins before they were cleared, our check wasn’t brought until about 10 more minutes later. We also had to flag a waiter down to bring us more water, and even so, he only brought enough for one person so we had to split it. This would not have irritated me as much of the food hadn’t been so spicy! Everyone at our table ordered«mild» and we were all sweating. Idk if they just have the spice ratings for funsies or what but it was hot, and we all eat spicy food quite often. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious, but if you’re wimpy about spice be careful! Overall, I would recommend it. Delicious food for a reasonable price, friendly(albeit slow) service, and good size portions.

2 Gingers had a rough transition from Bombay and it took a few months to get the kinks worked out, but judging by our latest meal, they are spot on again. Their dosas have always been excellent, but now they have a special dosa night every week(Thursday), too!

Just moved to the area and always on the hunt for good Indian food. 2 gingers did not disappoint! Their lunch buffet had a good variety of vegetarian and meat options as well as sauces and dessert. Everything tasted really fresh and dishes were replenished quickly. Service was prompt and the price was reasonable. I do wish they had slightly more variety(which would bump them up to 5 stars in my opinion) but I’m leaving a really happy, and full, customer!

My wife and I dined at 2 Gingers during lunch on Friday. I will update this review when we go back for a dinner, but my wife wanted to see how the buffet was to see if it was worth coming back to eat at night. I thought so! My favorite item on the buffet was the mushroom/pea dish. It was unique and delicious. The korma chicken and chicken tikka masala were both not bad. The fish dish on the buffet was good. Naan not bad. Wish they had samosas on the buffet. Like I said, this was A-OK. Can’t wait to come back and order some vindaloo, saag paneer, chicken makhani, and a nice large Taj. The Unilocal coupon for checking in was a great BONUS!!!

We frequently go to Delhi Palace so we were excited to try a different Indian restaurant. This place used to be called Bombay but recently changed their name to 2 Ginger. Other than minor décor changes, the place looks the same. Their buffet is until 2:30 pm and a great way to sample various dishes. We were disappointed with their selection. There was only three chicken dishes and the rest were vegetable. I was hoping for lamb, goat or something different. After talking to the waitress, Wednesday and Saturday have different meat options. There was only one desert option, rice pudding, and the rice was undercooked and slightly hard. They were confused about honoring the 10% deal from Unilocal.Overall the food was ok at best. I’ll stick with Delhi Palace for now.

I had a delicious vegetarian meal here. Started with their tasty samosas that had a bit of heat to them. Then we had saag with potatoes(also tasty) and their 2 Gingers Special Kofka(tomato based creamy sauce was yummy). I love carbs so I also got a rice dish, Peas Pulov, and it was very good. My little girl loved the naan. If you’re a vegetarian and you love Indian food this is the place to be.
