Asian Palace Fusion

My boyfriend and I used to love eating at this restaurant; however, after our last visit we will not be going back. We weren’t sure if he was the owner or the manager, but he was incredibly rude. We requested to be seated at another table and he lied to us saying that the section was reserved for a party. Then he tell us that only groups of six people could sit in that section where there were clearly couples sitting there as well. During the whole conversation, he kept scoffing and walking away over and over again. When the waitress seated us someplace else, he kept walking by and glaring at us. We will not be going back. The only reason I give the place one star instead of two is because the food was decent.

Ordered delivery for dinner. It took 55 minutes to arrive and was mediocre at best. The chicken was much more batter than chicken and was not all white meat like advertised. The Chinese place in Kings Contrivance village center is much better.

Not a sushi eater so I was skeptical coming here for a birthday dinner. The drink menu was great and the bartender was very polite. My group was celebrating a birthday so we became a bit rowdy for a Tuesday night but they didn’t mind. I ordered the Seahorse atolls which were cooked salmon and I loved them. My friends ordered almost every different kind of sushi there was and none disappointed. Very cool lighting as well. Nice and clean. Atmosphere is great for happy hour. Would def come again. Enjoy and eat up!

This place is Fantastic! We order delivery at least 3 – 4 times a month. My kids love their Sushi, always fresh and tasty. My son loves the Dynamite Roll. I will continue to use them out of all the places in Columbia, they are the best in my opinion. When ever I order carry out, they always say 35 – 45 minutes wait, and they always appear at my door in less then 30 minutes, fast and fresh! Always love this place

I’ve been here a handful of times and for the most part my experiences have been decent.
Unfortunately, my last visit resulted in my first ever sushi-​induced food poisoning. I’ll spare you the details.
Illness aside, the dishes that night were far from those I have previously experienced there. I had the Naruto roll, which I didn’t finish due to it being wrapped in way too much cucumber. In theory it made sense, but in execution it didn’t compliment the other flavors/​textures at all.
I also had my usual, a couple slices of tuna & salmon sashimi. I noticed the temperature of the fish seemed a little off (not warm, slightly cooler than room temperature). Other than that, they didn’t look or smell weird so I proceeded to taste – noticed nothing out of the ordinary so I finished them. BIG MISTAKE!
While the other experiences had not been bad, they definitely had not been good enough to risk going back and getting sick again. Will not be returning.

I have been a dine in customer along with taken advantage of delivery going on 4 years.
This establishment has gone down hill something severe.
While dining in, it’s always so uncomfortable that the hospitality service is quick to seemingly get you out of there. — taking your dishes and food without having finished them. Along with your drinks, beer. Etc.
It use to be a fun, upbeat place to dine in for happy hour. Not so much anymore.
Their happy hour is still one of their best offerings. Because everything is so cheap. But They have cut the Happy Hour time also to 6pm
The food? Has lost its quality. On top of it all the prices have increased.
When making a request for delivery is so frustrating. I cannot seem to touch base with someone who can clearly understand me or speak English. My order has been incorrect countless of times and it takes WELL OVER AN HOUR for delivery! I am not even located 1 mile away.

I usually get carry out, especially the 3 sushi roll lunch and have never been disappointed. They always have my order ready quickly and I have never been disappointed. I have not dined-​in in a while, but the last few times I did service and food were great

Good food, great service, and always nice when we come in with a big group including kids.

This sushi place is very trendy. Think a low lighting and waiters in all black. The few times I have been here I have not had to wait to get a table. The menu that they have is very extensive. The menu is very Asian fusion inspired with things like sushi teriyaki tempura and lo mein.
My husband got something with chicken but honestly it was very forgettable. I tried the sushi. They did have an extensive sushi menu. It featured both cooked and uncooked sushi. They also had traditional rolls as well as house invented sushi. The sushi was OK. You can definitely get better in the area. The drinks that we got were tasty adult beverages. They were well-​made and strong. Overall I would come back for a drink.
I would probably skip the food. I was a bit expensive and was not that good.

This place has gone down in service and food quality ! What a shame! I’m tired of giving this place a second time but only the prices have gone up. The food quality is poor and service is the same what a shame !

We have been going here for sushi for years now and have hardly ever left the table unsatisfied. The manager was very friendly to our family and all of the staff is attentive. This is by far the best sushi place I have been to. I have also tried their cooked meals and every one that I have tried this far has been delicious and interesting.

I’ve had bad experience here before but decided to try them again and quickly I remembered why I stopped going here. The service is bad. The employees are rude. We got severely sick after eating sushi here!!! The manager is so rude. I do not recommend this place. Even 1 star is too much for them.

My husband and I went here last night for date night. I hade the home style bean curd which was beyond delicious! And he ordered the sweet and sour chicken, he wasn’t too keen on how heavily battered and deep friend the chicken was but said other than that it tasted good. Our server was friendly enough but the food seemed to take a little while considering it wasn’t that busy.
Sometimes «Asian fusion» restaurants can leave a lot to be desired but overall we quite enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back again!

Happy hour is the best here. Can’t beat $ 1.50 beers and ½ priced cocktails. The sushi is pretty decent about $ 4 for your average roll. Despite the average prices, the sushi does not taste average. It is one of the better places I’ve gone to get sushi. The atmosphere is really nice and classy. There’s never a wait and the food comes out pretty fast.

If you’re going at a peak time, expect a wait — but this place is worth it.
The ambiance is fantastic — low light and modern/​chic. The table spacing is nice, so no rubbing elbows and accidental eavesdropping on weird conversations with the party next to you.
The price is what you’d expect for a sushi/​asian restaurant, but it is ALWAYS fresh and plaited very beautifully — which makes the long wait that much more worth it. They take their time to ensure everything is well prepared and not rushed. Have some patience.
I HIGHLY recommend the Maryland Roll. You won’t be disappointed.

This was my third time coming to the Asian Palace and each time I come I am blown away. Starting with the greeting service all the way until your farewell, these employees take great care of you and are always more than accommodating and helpful. They seriously know how to serve and definitely know how to make the best tasting sushi around. All three times I have been here I have made the happy hour. The first time I was introduced to the Asian Palace I had only ordered my usual sushi, which was $ 3.50 a roll on happy hour, Alaskan roll and tuna roll. The second time I came I ventured out of my box since the friend I came with actually ate raw fish so we were able to order together and try something new. We actually ordered the coolest sushi roll ever in which we were able to make it ourselves! It was a specialty roll so it wasn’t on special but it was great! GREAT! I also tried two of their special alcoholic drinks, which are regularly $ 7.95, however, on happy hour they are half off! Lastly, my third time I came with my boyfriend and he ordered two orders of chicken satay off the happy hour appetizer menu for $ 4.95. I splurged and got a miso soup, spicy tuna roll, Alaskan roll, tuna avocado roll and salmon roll. Each one was on happy hour special for $ 3.95. We both had two beers each (bud light and miller lite) each bottled beer is $ 1.50! You heard me A DOLLAR FITTTTTTY a beer. Best night ever. Our waitress’ name was Amy and she was super delightful.
Overall the entire area of the restaurant is super trendy where you are able to either dress up or dress casual. You can tell that there are «regular» customers that come in, some sound like they go everyday. The bar is small, however, it makes it very intimate – love. They have causal dining seating which is the largest area, bar seating which looks around 8 seats, two side couch tables and sushi bar seating. All seats are nice and kept clean. The bathrooms are super clean and neat! You can tell that the manager is very well organized. He even came over to us to make sure our order went well and every turned out okay.
*Please note: Don’t forget to tip the sushi makers! They have their own tip jar on the sushi bar!

I’m very surprised to read about the bad customer service because we had great service and thought everyone was extremely friendly when we were there.
Our friends brought us here for lunch and I was so happy they did. The menu is huge, with lots of specialty sushi rolls. For those of us who don’t like sushi, there is more than enough entrees to choose from.
We shared the lettuce wraps and they were just ok, the miso soup was great, our friends got the ceviche and it was very good — fresh and very flavorful.
My husband got the rock n’ roll and I ordered the Hunan shrimp-​both were very good. I had more shrimp in mine than I’ve ever had before.
It’s just a block away from Howard General and there’s lots of places to choose from in this area, but well worth giving it a try.

Stopped in for take out the other night. While I was looking at the menu three different people asked if I either had ordered, was ready to order or was being helped. I ordered yellowtail sashimi, salmon sashimi and Hunan Shrimp. Decided to sit at the bar and have a drink while I waited. I ordered their ‘Sex In The Palace’. It was yummmmyyy!
The food was just okay this time. The salmon was the best, and most fresh of the fish. The Hunan Shrimp could have been spicier and a little more flavorful. I think I’ll stick with the sushi rolls next time.

I will never return to this place again. First, lets start with the food. We ordered two different types of rolls & the fish was not fresh at all. when I asked for a replacement roll, they looked at me as if I didn’t know what I was talking about. So I had the waitress eat one of the pieces. And needless to say, she agreed.
After we got a suitable meal, I went to pay with my debit card. The waitress came back to say it «wasn’t working». When I asked her what she meant by not working, she couldn’t explain. So I told her to try again, because I knew there was nothing wrong with my card. She returned a second time, saying it wouldn’t work. After I was getting annoyed the manager came & said that he didn’t think my debit card was real because it had a 2021 expiration date!
WTF do you mean not real? He also informed me that his computer system doesn’t process any cards with expiration dates greater than 5 years. Well, that’s a personal problem and not mine. The manager continued to accuse me of not having a real card. When I told him that I was going to the ATM to get money, he then said I would have to leave my son at the restaurant! Why would I leave a kid somewhere while I go & get money because of their archaic system. Needless to say, I was 3 seconds from going off on him & told him to keep my damn drivers licence. But he’s not holding my child ransom for some half-​assed sushi rolls.
I’ll never return to this god-​awful place again. If you want better sushi, send the extra few minutes & head over to Sushi King.

Ambiance is chic with a romantic potential. Salmon tower, spicy tuna tartare are my favs & chicken lettuce wraps. Sushi rolls are pricey, but are a decent size.
My only warning is: keep an eye on your bank statement if paying by card. I was once charged twice for a single dining experience. It was hell trying to get them to reimburse the funds.
