Love this winery! Its head and shoulders above the others in NJ and PA. The owner Paul is very helpful and personable. He walked us through our tasting and was very thorough. They also have many events which i plan on starting to attend. Overall, i was very impressed by the wines and the service.

Brook Hollow is a must see if you are in the area and are into wine, gorgeous views, and helping a good cause. 2 of their wines donate 25% of the purchase price to the Lakota Wolf Preserve and that is amazing to me. The staff was very friendly, and in my opinion, went above and beyond with creating an enjoyable experience, talking about(and actually knowing) about the wine, and getting to know their customers. The atmosphere overall was very nice, and you were able to mingle and talk to other customers along the impressive bar area. The wine was excellent, and the view from the new sitting area out back was one of a kind. This would be a beautiful place to have a wedding,(which our server was all to eager to pick on my boyfriend about) haha. Overall, a kick ass experience. If my boyfriend and I didn’t have such a scheduled day, we would’ve loved to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine or two. We will definitely be gong back.

I have tasted Brook Hollow wines at various farmer’s markets and festivals, but never visited the winery until yesterday. I was completely impressed from the moment I walked in the door. I saw an offer for a Groupon, and that is initially what brought me here. They were having a festival so I was skeptical we weren’t going to be allowed to taste(many in the area close their tasting rooms, unless you pay the festival price). This was not the case! Our tasting room attendant, Dan, was so nice and knowledgeable. We didn’t feel rushed at all and had a really nice, relaxing experience while learning lots too! Probably the best tasting room attendant I have ever had. The location is beautiful, not to mention super convenient off of Route 80. The wine was exceptional! I also love that if you keep your glass you get free tastings for life! That is amazing customer relations. I love a place that appreciates their clientele. 2 of the wines give a portion of their proceeds to the Lakota Wolf Preserve down the road. I will definitely be back soon and make sure I go to the wolf preserve beforehand!

I have been to many wineries and wine tasting and thus by far has been the best time ever! I brought my mom and sister here and Dennis is absolutely amazing! My mom is on crutches and the stool was too high and he offered to do the tasting at the table so my mom was comfortable. He was very nice. The most informative tasting I have every had(I have been to many wineries) this has been the best experience I have ever had. I will absolutely be back and can’t wait! Keep up the great work!!!

Wonderful little winery! We were greeted and did the wine tasting with Dan. He was so happy and passionate about wine and gave us so many details about the wine. After the wine tasting he gave us a little tour of the winery. It was a great experience, and I am very happy that we came across this winery on our drive back to NYC. After the wine tasting, make sure to buy a bottle, cheese and crackers and go sit outside to enjoy the view of the surrounding hills. We went in early April and nature was not blooming yet… But I can imagine it’s beautiful later in the season and in the fall. Definitely coming back!

We’re not typically dry wine drinkers but we are now! We had a few tastings and Paul the owner took us on a tour and we’ll definitely be back!

Awesome wine tasting! The tasting is $ 5 and if you bring your glass back you get a complementary wine tasting for as long as you have your glass! The winery grows a good amount(I believe the lady said 40% at this time and within 3 or 4 years it will be 100%) of their grapes. They have a great amount of yard which I believe is going to be a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy some wine during the warmer months. The inside is cute! Very clean looking. Also a huge plus in my book, they donate a portion of the profits of two of their wines to Lakota Wolf Preserve! How awesome! Giving back to a great place that’s right down the road! This place is byof(bring your own food) but do offer entertainment. They do allow deliveries of food if you choose to go that route.

I keep coming back here and bringing more friends. If you love dry reds and dry and semi sweet whites, this is the place for you. If you want sweet, fruity wines, not so much. I love all the wines they have to offer. Very friendly and personable staff. Dennis is great! Great place to come on a sunny day to sit outside and enjoy a bottle of wine and some music. Bring some cheese and crackers too!

Had a great time tasting the wines. Mainly dry wines with hardly any residual tannins.

Their wines were ok but nothing excellent. The wines has an aftertaste. The server even down spoke their zin saying the grapes were not from NJ. I didn’t have all their wines but my initial experience will make a trip back unlikely,

Two bottle limit sucks, went to get another bottle and enjoy the music and was denied another bottle. We are grown adults who have a designated driver and drive several hours to visit this winery, we were dissapointed by the two bottle limit for the four adults

Cute little winery. Not sure how much the tasting fee is — didn’t pay it. Went to the Lakota Wolf Preserve(5 min away) on the Camp Taylor Campground and their office has a bunch of brochures for local activities. One of them is for Brook Hollow Winery — incl. a coupon for a comp wine tasting. The staff was really nice here. Some of the wines were a hit. They make their own fruit wine here(seasonal) and had cranberry wine(no grapes allowed) when we came — it was delicious. The semi-sweet Riesling was great too. Also enjoyed the Chambourcin even though I am not a fan of red wines — this was interesting, with a hint of cherry flavor. Ended up buying those 3. They also sell a bunch of souvenir items — prints of wolf photos from the nearby preserve, benefit wines to support the wolf preserve(25% donated), various knick knacks, t-shirts, cute baby wino clothes, etc. You can see the vineyard right outside and it’s lovely. Check this out if you are in the area, it’s a nice experience.

They had some great wines but sitting outside enjoying them should be in real comfortable cushy chairs not just regular ones. If they can spruce up the outside it would round out the overall experience

I’ve been to my fair share of vineyards, and this one is great! For just $ 5, you get a small tasting of ALL of their wines(about a dozen), and you get to keep the glass! I really liked a lot of the wines including the Cayuga White and the Sequoia(also a white). They have a very nice lighter red Zin as well. But beyond that, the people there are awesome — super warm and friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s fun to learn about the wines, the vineyard, and the area, while enjoying the tasting. I highly recommend! Oh, and on Fridays, they have free appetizers — typically mozzarella sticks and chicken wings — and sometimes a little live music. A nice treat before heading out to dinner.

Winery was nice, but co-habitation is always difficult. Can’t wait to see the new digs during our next visit. We loved the reds but chose not to purchase any whites. The whites hit the palate fine once you were able to ignore the nose. Too much sulfite resulted in a bouquet resembling vomit. Hold your breath when tasting them and you’ll be fine.

Brook Hollow made lifelong groupies out of my husband and I in the tasting of two dry red wines. I’ll begin with our favorite of the two: The Chambourcin Reserve. Upon first swirl, our nostrils were assailed with hints of smoke and.. . cherry cordials? Sure enough, our sommelier explained that the Chambourcin’s smokey, cherry undertones make it the perfect companion to dark chocolate(similar to a good port). And upon first taste, his description was right on the money. Instructing my husband and I to take a sip of the wine, but not to swallow, he handed each of us a handful dark chocolate chips. Popping two of the chips into my mouth, my taste buds died and went to heaven! Letting the chocolate and wine melt and mingle on my tongue, I allowed myself a second to close my eyes and imagine a winter’s night spend in front of a fire. Bliss. «Hmm, this might be great around a campfire too,» I thought and made a mental note to check-out the campground down the road. Not fifteen minutes later, we left with three bottles of the Chambourcin Reserve and plans for a summer camping trip!(We ended-up spending a long weekend at Camp Taylor, less than ten minutes down the road, and having a blast!) The Cabernet Franc was another delicious, insightful experience. Easily my second favorite wine at Brook Hollow, it was also the most complex. Right off the bat, I picked-up notes of pepper and licorice. Still though, I felt like I could spend a couple hours with this wine and miss describing it accurately. The Cabernet Franc was my Jane Eyre — reading it only one time wasn’t going to be enough. I looked forward to opening up this wine again and learning what it had to say to me. Not a wine to be rushed, the Cab. Franc was a definite a win in the savor category. Our first experience at Brook Hollow was an eye-opening, delightful journey for the senses. Our sommelier(whose name I can’t remember — Paul?) was such a welcome, refreshing change of pace from others we’ve encountered on our winery travels. He was funny, informative, and patient and I truly believe our experience wouldn’t have been the same without him. Our wine tasting was a whopping $ 5.00 — with glass — and it not only entitled us to a generous sampling of all their wines, but a super-intimate tasting of wines that had yet to be named, or bottled! «I knew that wine when…» We left with a case of wine, a «frequent flyer» card which entitled us to a discount after every case purchase, and a new appreciation for«dry» wines. At Brook Hollow, the wine — not the sugar — does the talking. We’ve since returned to «our favorite winery» a half-dozen times, making sure to stop by whenever we’re in the area. We’ve since learned of plans to open a new winery site in the near future. Onto big and better things for Brook Hollow, but I, for one, will always treasure our first meeting in the tiny, woodsy tasting room at the back of «The Big Red Barn.»

We were on a weekend visit to the Poconos and wanted to visit a winery nearby and Brook Hollow was our lucky pick! Upon arriving down the gravel/dirt path we saw apple trees, everywhere! Being it was December, there were only a few apples hanging on for dear life but something about that made it special. We entered the Winery and were greeted with a warm welcome. Wine tastings were $ 5 for THIRTEEN samples and you get to keep the wine glass — etched with Brook Hollow’s name. The samples were small but lets be fair now, you get to taste every wine they make! Plus its enough to make you want one bottle of each! My boyfriend and I liked just about every single one of them — yes, enough to buy a bottle. We each had 6 favorites(some same some different). My star favorites were the Riesling Semi Dry, Chancellor, and the Chambourcin. We purchased the Riesling Semi Dry and the Chambourcin, which we are enjoying at the moment since we paired one with our Italian Dinner and another just sitting by the fire. Mmm! Perfect! They said if we bring the wine glass back we get free samples, we are thinking about bringing our two empty bottles back tomorrow to see if they would refill them for us haha. Ah! The Best Part!!! Two of(my top 6) their wines have partial donations that go to the Lakota Wolf Preserve, just 5 min up the mountain. The Wolf Preserve has tours which let you get up close and personal with the wolves! We can’t wait to try this next month! And last but not least they have this recipe for the«Brook Hollow Winery Triple Chocolate Chamboursin Cake», using of course, their Chambourcin! Paul, the owner and vintner said he would make some for our next trip up! We love Brook Hollow!

I have been visiting NJ wineries over the past several years. Some of the NJ wines can rival calif. any day. and others are exactly hat you think it NJ would be… sweet, fruit f bombs. Some of the bigger NJ wineries are impersonal, and you never meet the wine maker, quite honestly having the opportunity to talk to the wine maker is one of the things that I like about visiting NJ wineries. So it is always an adventure to visit a NJ winery. So I decided one weekend afternoon to try Brook Hallow. I was not disappointed at all. The wine maker paul is very welcoming, willing to talk to you about wine making, and try some wine he is waiting to mature before bottling(a really nice cab franc, that I cant wait till it bottled). it was a 5 dollar tasting fee, well worth it. A nice variety of reds and whites. I love a slight bold dry red, which can be hard to find in NJ, but he had some that fit the bill. Some of the noses on the wines were a bit off but the mouth feel and balance were there. They also have some events there so it is worth checking him on Facebook and his website.

3.00 tasting fee includes a taste of all the wines they make and a take home glass. All the wines(except one) they make are on the dry side. Good thing too, because I prefer dry wines! Very friendly staff who walk you through the tasting process, explaining how the wines are made, what they pair well with, etc. Always a plus because I like the«lesson» as I try wines. Decent sized winery with 4 or 5 whites and 4 or 5 reds. They have a raspberry wine made only with raspberries that wasn’t sweet at all! Very impressive and different from most fruit wines. Too bad my budget prevented me from buying one bottle of each! Thats not to say they are pricey, it speaks more to my limited budget!
