I love CA. I joined about three months ago strictly for the weight room. It has everything I need and much more. The gyms are actually very clean, and the equipment is maintained and serviced regularly. The only issue is that the gyms are very awkwardly quiet, but it’s a good sign when that is the only complaint I can think of. The staff and the members are very friendly as well. Also, CA offers discounts for students and those with lower incomes(me), so it is very affordable. The three gyms are the best I have found because I searched everywhere for a decent gym– heavy weights, enough benches, smith machines, and plenty of olympic machines. I am getting all of my friends from my old gym to join CA.

No-one’s reviewed CA? Seriously?! OK, well I’m going to stick to the service part. You go in here with proof of address to pick up your outdoor pool membership(or gym membership or so on). You wait about an hour before anyone is free to help you. Then it turns out you need birth certificates for your kids, so you go home, and try again another day. Then it turns out they don’t accept your proof of address the next time, because you don’t have a utility bill. When you do finally get your membership, you get to sit around the pools with your neighbors, who get it free, even though they live in the same sort of house as you and drive a better car. Go figure. I agree with all the principles of Columbia — it’s just the practice that doesn’t always work out great. As for the gyms, filthy most of ‘em, I joined LifeTime instead. However, the Lifeguards at Columbia’s pools are better and nicer, and I miss them.
