Columbia Party Bus

Do not use! They are a scam! They will not show up to your wedding or event! They have done this to 4 ppl I kno!

On Saturday, I used Columbia Party Bus for my best friend’s bachelorette party. It was pretty expensive considering that we really just needed a ride downtown, and then a ride back to my house at the end of the night. However, I felt that the cost was worth it to make sure everyone had a safe ride, since we would be drinking. Here is a list of reason why I suggest that no one EVER give them any business in the future:
–Although they charge an hourly rate, and you have to pay in full before the date of you event, the driver picked us up 70 minutes late.
–He called me multiple times between our scheduled pick-​up time, and the time that he actually showed up. Right off the bat, he was using profanity and complaining to me about his night. He even told me, «I already wrecked one bus today because the brakes went out. Then someone almost hit me in this bus and I almost got out and smacked him.»
–He asked where we were headed. When I told him we were going downtown, he had the nerve to complain about it.
–He was rude to me when I was trying to help him find my neighborhood. He didn’t know which way was North and Sound coming off of 70 East. He should have printed directions ahead of time, as far as I’m concerned.
–When he arrived at my house, he started picking up trash in the back of the bus. This should have been done before he came to pick us up. When we boarded the bus, the carpets were visibly dirty.
–He was driving like a maniac, to the point that the girls in the back of the bus were flying up out of their seats and he did not slow down until one of the ladies demanded that he do so.
–When we arrived at the gas station to get ice for the coolers, he told me, «I can’t believe I’m even awake. I’ve been up for a day and a half.» Obviously not safe.
–He went into the gas station and bought two bottles of Jack Daniels. One of the girls questioned him, and he said it was for «later.»
–He came out of the gas station, and got into the back of the bus while smoking a cigarette and started fumbling with the music, putting his own music on. Keep in mind, there is no smoking on the Party Bus, and they will charge you and extra $ 250 for smoking. Even when asked to get the cigarette off the bus, he simply backed up a couple of steps. He had to be told multiple times before he finally got all the way off the bus.
–When we arrived downtown, I tried calling Columbia Party Bus to ask for a different driver. There was no answer, and I was not given an after hours number.
–Throughout the night, he continued to overstep boundaries by trying to engage in our bachelorette party. He was jumping into our conversations, following us into the bus, out of the bus, etc.
–While parked downtown, we witnessed him drinking his Jack Daniels multiple times. When questioned he simply said, «It helps keep me awake.»
–He let random men get on our bus while we weren’t present, and these men left with a case of beer from the bus.
Obviously we were VERY unhappy. I have been trying to get in touch with the company since then. I have called countless times, left multiple messages, and sent emails. I let them know that I was giving them the opportunity to rectify the situation before I took further action. Still, they didn’t return my calls. I had no trouble getting in touch with them when I was booking the bus, paying the deposit, or making the final payment. Now that I want to talk to them about their driver drinking on the job, they are dodging me. In addition to the hourly rate, I pre-​paid a $ 25/​hr tip for the driver, with the manager’s word that their drivers are responsible and professional.
Please do not trust the safety of yourself or your loved ones to Columbia Party Bus.
Feel free to spread the word. They put hundreds of people in danger on Saturday night, and given their lack of concern to my complaints, I assume that they do not take drinking and driving seriously.

We took the party bus for my husband’s 30^th birthday party. It was really fun! We had a nice driver who went the extra mile for us when we needed an extension cord for the dvd player. We drove up to Kirksville for a reminiscent experience from undergrad. The driver did not complain and the company was very accommodating. It did take us a couple months to get our security deposit back, but that was because he forgot to process it. I called and they returned it within minutes. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to have an intimate party experience with close friends or family.
