Awesome Indian grocery place and the cheapest one I have been to in US.

I can’t believe I just found this place last night. Having lived in Columbia for 2+ years, I really wish I’d found this gem sooner. They have an extensive supply of Indian groceries and frozen foods: — I asked for methi(which I’d been having a hard time finding even at Wegmens and Middle Eastern markets), and Desi Bazaar had fresh methi and two sizes of dried methi — I asked for paneer, and they had it in both blocks and cubes. The prices are competitive and the gentleman working the shop is also really helpful. Just know before you go that they only take credit cards for $ 10+ purchases.

Desi Bazaar gets a 3.5 star rating from me — it’s better than A-OK and I am a fan. Definitely, this bazaar holds good for it’s kind, esp’ in a town like Columbia. Besides, I’m spoiled by the many Indian grocery store options in the Bay Area, I can’t say more. Considering how far we had to go years ago to buy Indian groceries, I’m more than happy to note that this store carries almost everything an Indian would need in their kitchen. Comparing Desi Bazaar to stores like itself that are geographically and demographically removed: The variety of vegetables — good. Freshness — good, can be better. Grains, pulses, condiments etc — excellent. Frozen foods — good. Refrigerated foods(Yogurt, Crêpe and Idli batter, chutneys etc) — good. Not the freshest, but good. The choice of tea time snacks is vast, except that packets of Parle G were crushed: O( It’s my go-to store when I’m in the are. :O)
