This place is amazing! Great price and great people! It’s like paying for a gym and a personal trainer. The people here really work with you. The managers of the gym don’t just sit in the back they workout with you and sincerely support you in trying to better help yourself. It’s not just a gym, they train you one on one and even help you with a workout/diet plan! I recommend this place to everyone!

When I first started working, right out of college, I was in pretty good shape. But as the years piled on, the lack of physical activity and constant eating of take out food was taking its toll. Friends and family would joke about how fat I had become, and I would laugh along, deep inside knowing that I was dissatisfied with the way I looked and felt about my body. So when my friends invited me along to take some boxing classes with Kwame, noting his great energy and keen sense of how far to challenge individual limits, I figured it was worth a shot. It’s been a little over a year now that I’ve been training with him. In that time, I’ve lost weight, gotten in the best shape of my life, improved my agility/strength, and developed a routine that helps me stay healthy. But most interestingly to me, I’ve learned to love boxing. If anyone had told me even two years ago that I’d wake up early to go boxing/workout, I wouldn’t have believed them. But the enthusiasm, skill, energy, and effort that Kwame brings to his classes and to Elite SFN, makes going there something I always look forward to.

I already knew that boxing class was going to be hard. Teaching boxing is, by its very nature, creative: there is no shortage of exercises that you can concoct to punish your body. Kwame pushes you close to the breaking point, to where you absolutely have to dig deep to get through the exercise. And then there are more workouts, not just designed to help you hit harder, but also to hit faster, dodge more effectively, and be better conditioned. You will do exercises that you’ve never heard of before. You will strain beyond what you thought was possible. You will hurt. However, a key differentiator: Kwame’s method is more about technique than on heavy hitting. Strength, speed, conditioning, and force are all important factors, and he will make you work on those — but what you will find is that Kwame puts his emphasis on making adjustments that seem barely noticeable but are utterly crucial. It’s these little things that make a huge difference: you will come to appreciate his attention to detail. Where Kwame really sets himself above the rest is in the way he does this. You can always count on him to push you with a positive attitude, and as Kenneth mentioned in his review, his energy is infectious. For sure, you need to bring it, but by the end of the workout, you have pushed yourself past your limit — but you never feel burnt out, because Kwame builds you up and encourages you. He does not tear you apart, but rather he gets you to go beyond what you thought was possible. In the middle of the toughest workouts, you come to appreciate this quality. He’s also really good at monitoring exactly where you are at in your progress, and instinctively seems to know where your breaking point is. This, to me, is the most important part about having a trainer: one who reads you, knows how to get you to where you need to be, and focuses what is truly important in the workout. Highly recommended.
